WILDing Method that Works for Me

If you are interested in WILDing, try what worked for me:

      1. Relax as deeply as possible.
      2. Imagine yourself performing a familiar task in a familiar place.
      3. Focus on your task; not your surroundings.
      4. As details, people, and objects appear, let them simply exist. Don't force anything.
(I found the best way to not force things is ask myself, "I wonder what will happen next.")
      5. As you are in a familiar place in the dream world, you are likely to see something out of place or that you know doesn't exist in the real world.
      6. Do a reality check. (in the real world, any time I see that something has changed, I inspect it in detail while I asking myself if this is a dream. Example: girlfriend put a new mirror in the bathroom. I looked at it and touched the mirror asking myself if this was real.)

This has gotten me close to lucid dreaming over the past few days, and I finally became lucid using this method this afternoon. I'm confident this will spark many more lucids for me. Try it. Good luck!

I honestly might have to try this. I've been on a tangent recently trying to explore new methods for lucid dreaming. I'm having considerable difficult with WILDs. I've been trying to lucid dream, on and off, since '09 but I still can't WILD. I'm waiting for that CLICK and perhaps this will be it. I'll let you know about my luck.

This might work great for me. I tend to relax better when just going through a familiar task or imagining myself in a familiar environment. In the past I've gotten so relaxed that I do fall right into that "Scenario" but don't seem to make the pop; as soon as I focus a little more I instantly wake up.

That is my main problem. I focus too much when I feel myself being absorbed into the dream. I have to practice balancing focus with uncunciously letting images appear in front of me. Dream driving definitely seems to help me. It's simple enough that my mind can be relaxed but at the same time I have to be alert to what I am doing. It's hard but so far it's the only thing that's worked for me. Trying it again tonight.

Nice post. Any method that utilizes visualization is on the right path, IMHO.

I'm glad you posted this. I've been planning to try this ever since you told me about it in one of your replies, but I haven't had the chance yet. Hopefully I can do it this weekend. Thanks for sharing

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
