Question Using a Mobile Alarm for Reality Checks?

Hey Dreamviews! This is my first post
I have a question regarding reality checks. I quite often forget to reality check throughout the day, so I have considered setting an alarm on my ipod. When the alarm goes off, I can just hit snooze so that every 9 minutes (the amount of time snooze lasts) I am reminded to reality check. Will using this throughout the day make me RC while dreaming, or will I become dependent on the alarm and forget to RC without it?

      Thanks in advance!

I am also very curious about this and have considered doing something similar. In my searches I've found an app called "Mind Jogger," which allows you to set random alarms throughout the day! I personally haven't purchased it yet (it's $0.99) but it seems promising!

As long as you're not doing this absent-mindedly, it has helped many people. If you do without questioning why you're doing it, and you're doing it just to do it, you'll do it without thinking in the dream, which won't always work.

So I tried it yesterday, and last night I had a dream where I considered reality checking but for some reason did follow through with it.
I'll continue trying this on days that I don't have to work. Maybe I'm not putting enough thought into RCs.

I once posted a thread were I proposed a test where using an alarm to notify me I would do over 500-1000 RC's a day. I tried for four days (My phone broke) and I never had the patience for 300+ RC's but even then the results were astounding. I thought I would start randomly doing alot of RC's in my dreams but something else happened....I started doing RC's every time I heard any basic noise. For about a week I had 3 LD's a night. I never posted the results because I was too caught. I believe that it works.

I might try this. I really need to start doing more RCs.

Yes it will work, but as Hawkeye said, make sure you're actually questioning whether or not your dreaming and not just waiting for the alarm to go off so you can perform a reality check. I prefer to just perform random reality checks throughout the day, I don't like being tied to alarms, randomness helps me.
