      Angry still cant MILD

when ever i start trying to go to sleep i start daydreaming and my sub-conscious uses that as a trigger for me to go to sleep and i go into a trance like state before coming up with a whole new idea to start daydreaming about and this daydream i am only slightly aware of reality before completely losing touch with reality and going into a dream.

Anyway the annoying thing is my sub-conscious interprets the mantras as a trigger so i immediately start daydreaming and go to sleep, before waking up in the morning really annoyed.

A almost fully guaranteed way to have a lucid dream is to do the Stephen LaBerges original Wake Back to Bed not the 4-6 hours shenanigans you hear about on every lucid dreaming forum, because that is actually the lazy version of Wake Back to Bed. Well we don't always have the luxury to go to bed early and sleep for long, but when you do make sure you try the original description of WBTB.

I am trying to learn to actively lucid dream in the same awareness like I would have using this method but with DEILDS in the earlier night.
However if someone just wants to experience a lucid dream this is the way LaBerge use.

But just doing the short WBTB version would increase your chances as well.

MILD is a technique involving saying mantras, that will get you lucid while in a regular dream. LDs induced via MILD are called Dream Initiated Lucid Dreams (DILD).

And that's exactly, how you do it. You say your mantras, fall asleep and hope to become lucid in one of your regular dreams.

Now, if your title is a typo, and you ment to say WILD, then getting in and out of dreams is actually desirable. With help of WILD training you enter a dream lucidly, while aware. If anything about the process annoys you, you will not succeed. The whole process should be exciting, interesting, but not annoying.

I would recommend you read some WILD tutorials. One of them is right here.
If you were talking about MILD, you would get better success if you added some DILD practice.

To the OP: try not to perceive it as "I must say my mantras or I will forget my intention!"

MILD has nothing to do with mantras. They are just used because they are a good form of association, thus, very useful when you want to MILD: aka, increase your chance of achieving a DILD through prospective memory. Besides, you want to repeat your mantras aswell during the day incase of MILD, else they won't be anymore powerful than a regular sentence in the imperative form before you fall asleep

Just focus during the day on your intention of getting lucid. Think about it as "I will reflect on the fact, and develop a conscious awareness of my intention". Then think about your intention and develop ways that will make you remember it "every time I see X, I'll do a reality check" or "every 15 minutes I will make a reality check", or "I need to check if I'm dreaming! I gotta check it every once in a while". Setting goals in your ordinary waking life is also a good way to become better at MILD.

So, if you want to MILD: just focus on remembering your intentions, that's the big thing you want to improve. Good luck!

Trying out MILD? This is how you become skilled at it.

Have you read Naiya's MILD technique? It's one of my favorites.

Don't give up just yet on the technique, give it at least a few more weeks. Really concentrate and try! if it doesn't work, you can always try a new method like DILD OR WILD. Good luck!
