Post Did I have a Lucid Dream?

So guys after trying different methods for sometime, I think I have had my first Lucid Dream in years.

Like usual I tried the WILD technique, and set my alarm clock to 2am (approx. 4hours sleep) [WBTB]. I usually fall asleep during the WI technique.

When I woke up at 2 am, I went to DV and did some reality checks like plugging my nose and counting my fingers. After 15 minutes I tried to fall asleep, but when the clock stroke 3am I was still awake. In that period of time, I might have fallen asleep and had that dream. It might have also happened after or when I first fell asleep.

The problem is that I don't exactly know if it was a Lucid Dream, or if I just dreamed, that I have a Lucid Dream.

What happened (I do not remember much; is that common?) was that I was in a store in a dream (I don't know how I got in there). Suddenly I looked at my hands to perform a RC. My fingers looked too big, and we're not in the right amount. I was beginning to get really excited and starting to lose it, but I got So I knew I was being Lucid. I just started doing random shit and when I wanted to fly I did. I was careful that I didn't crash, because if I did I knew I would wake up. I don't know how I got to the area where I was flying. (Is that common too?)

How do I know, that I lucid dream and not dream about lucid dreaming. Do you get what I mean?

      Please comment

If you ever thought "this is a dream." then it was.

Sometimes LDs seem really vague and weird, like you didn't go through it yourself, but watched someone else do it.

If you never thought that, then do not fret, because it is obvious that you are getting better and progress is shown.

But don't you think that because of reading so much about Lucidity, I could have just dreamed about being lucid. There are many signs, for instance that I don't know how I got to a place etc.

Do you frequentely have Lucid Dreams? Do you have the same sympotoms of not remembering everything and not knowing how you got to a place?

The excitement gives it away. That's what usually wakes people up. So yeah, it was a lucid. Congrats.

And flying - it must be an instinct, or something. That was my first thought, or rather uncontrolable urge in my first LD. And even now, first thing I do is I jump out of the first window I see.

Looking at hands and counting fingers (always have more than I should) is my most common RC.

When you just dream about LDing, I think that shift of awareness you get when you realize you dreaming is missing. And crashing won't wake you up. Go for it.

So is it common to lose track of your position in Lucid Dreams? And do you tend to forget everything that happened?

It's very common to forget that you are in a dream. You can either repeat to yourself "I'm dreaming" or something similar. Gaining more daytime awareness will also help with keeping your awareness in a dream for longer.
      SAT
      WILD-Awareness

If you wake up right after the LD, you should be able to remember it. How is your dream recall? Do you remember your non-lucids? If not, keeping a dream journal will help with that.

What I meant was that do you often forget what happened, even in a Lucid Dream, after you wake up? Or do you remember everything that happened? Plus do you always know how you got somewhere in a Lucid Dream?

Unfortunately your SAT link doesn't work.

Sounds semi-lucid so keep plugging away and you will get there! I will say this about lucid dreams: When you get the full monty you know it. It is an amazingly vivid experience that normally has me waking up wanting to jump back in. When they do happen they are incredibly joyful and spiritually uplifting. I rarely find myself asking 'was that a lucid dream or not?' When it happens... when it really happens, I just know it.

I'm sure it was one. I felt so alive. After two days I still have that felling inside me. So I guess it was lucid. Could you help me with the questions Iposted above.

I have been having about 4 a week for about a month and a half. I actually had a dream last night. I became perfectly lucid and started flying around. I remember the ideas that popped through my head and I was thinking about how it was a dream and I was wanting to fly.

This was the first dream of the night that I can remember and I don't remember anything else, because I had 2 dreams after that before I woke up and wrote it down. :/

I had a dream a few nights ago that I was flying to the moon. This old man popped up and told me to follow him. I don't remember what happened next, but he flew away and told me I was inside the moon. This is that dream:

So yeah, LDs do jump around some times, but normally you will remember when you become lucid to when you woke up.

      Hope this helps. sweet dreams

My lucids are often like that. They skip from place to place with no sensation of moving from one to the other, almost like a cut in a film. Sometimes I go through a door or along a street, sometimes I say 'I want to be in such-and-such a place'. but most often there is no clue at all.

I often forget what happens before/ while I am lucid. Don't worry about it, you'll get better at it.
