      VERY annoying.

So on Sunday night/Monday morning, I kept having false awakenings. It felt like 10 bazillion, but it was probably about 5. It wasn't necessarily that I felt like I was awake, but I kept looking at my phone for the time, but each time it kept changing. I had to wake up at about 6am that morning for work and my mind either tricked me into thinking I was late or I had plenty of time to sleep. But then each time I truly woke up, it was only an hour after this kept happening. Then it happened the next night, only not as many times. False awakenings happened a couple times, but thankfully I didn't have to wake up as early. And I actually woke up in SP, just without all the weird side effects, but I did have to really shake my body awake because it felt like I was paralyzed. So Tuesday, throughout the day, I used the mantra, "Next time I have a false awakening, I will realize I'm dreaming". Low and behold Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, it did not work. BUT in one of my dreams the scenery was very vivid with bright, beautiful colors. I was swimming with some other animals (even an elephant that could go under water) and I remember being underwater and not having to hold my breath. Another chance of my first lucid slipped away.

I swear my mind is teasing me. The past few nights were suppose to be my "break" from lucid dreaming (even though I haven't really tried in about a week) and I missed a couple of really good opportunities. Is there anything else I can easily practice through the day? It is hard with my job, though, because I basically work at a warehouse so I am constantly helping customers and being distracted all day.

      Okay. Vent over.

Hello. First off, try to reality check every single time you wake up, no matter where you are. This can help catch false awakenings and give you a better chance for lucidity. Second, I think you should probably change up your mantra.

Next time I have a false awakening, I will realize I'm dreaming
Here's the thing: when you say "next time i have a false awakening", it implies that you know it is a false awakening already, which totally defeats the the purpose. I suggest you incorporate something you usually do irl. For example, you meet customers a lot. Before bed, you can do a mantra like "the next time i meet a customer, i'm dreaming".. Relying on yourself having a dream about meeting customers – which is very likely. If it is indeed a dream, then great! If it's not, then at least it's already some form of reality check

As for what you can do during the day, I guess just try to practice awareness. Question your reality whenever you remember or think about dream-related things. When you go to the bathroom, or fix your breakfast, or go on your lunchbreak, think about what you're planning to do for you next lucid. Motivate yourself!

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I like using the mantra "I am dreaming" as I fall asleep. Get that thought good and impressed on your mind.

I like paigeyemps response for this reason: We incorporate the day's memories into our dreams. Most of it is symbolic but they are in there! Consider any unusual thing that might have happened to you today before sleeping and tell yourself that if that should come up again in your dreamscape you must be dreaming.

Not at all. If you learn to recognize them, it's a free LD. In my book, that's a good thing. If you find things while LDing annoying, you not gonna have much luck in inducing.
