This happens to me a lot. Only now, after many dozens of times I realized, that when I thought I woke up, I actually didn't. The dream fades away, I'm in darkness, but I'm still dreaming. Or not in darkness. |

Every time im in a dream and i think to myself that I could be dreaming (like before i do a reality check) The dream immediatly fades out, I dont have any time to do anything just as soon as it pops into my head that i could be dreaming, i wake upI did have one fully lucid dream where this didn't happen though, although most of the time it does. Help |

I do a reality check every time I wake up so I don't have False awakenings i just wake up |

I didn't mean false awakenings. Sometimes you are still in LD, even when you think it ended. |

When it fades to darkness is when you need to realize that in a dream, darkness is the same as light. It doesn't mean that you are waking up. Going "into the darkness" is a good way to teleport. As soon as it starts getting dark think about how you are going to appear somewhere else. Stabilizing is useful, but expectation plays a huge part. The more you expect it to fade away and you to wake up, the higher the odds. So if something happens a few times in a row it is really hard not to expect it. You can also use mantras or things like this to change your expectations. Good luck. |

What i mean by it fades out is that it gets really dark and then i open my eyes, in my bed, wide awake and then i do an rc and find im not dreaming. It all happens so fast and there is nothing i can do about it :/ |

How many times has this happened? If it is less than 10 than I wouldn't worry about it until later. It is mostly expectation. Rember that there is only a small amount of difference between non LDs and LDs, and the only thing that wakes you up is your expectation or REM ending. If it is less than 10 times in a row, then you might just be getting unlucky and getting lucid right at the end of REM, the time when you are most aware of your dreaming state naturally. |

It happened twice so far, once two weeks ago, then i had four more lucid dreams, and then now, you are probably right about me just getting unlucky because in both times I had been dreaming for quite some time before it happened. |
|
Next time try doing something about it anyway because while you may now think that you can do nothing about it, maybe if you change your expectation to "Next time something like this happens, I will be able to do something about it" it may help - or even better, since it happened only twice thus far, do not expect it to ever happen again, and hopefully it won't! |
|
Yeah. I would recommend just saying "I was unlucky and that shouldn't ever happen again." This will change your expectations for your dreams. Good luck getting lucid! Have fun. |

Sure, sometimes when you wake up, you just woke up. But often you could be in a LD. Start thinking about it and you will start catching those. |
|
I once managed to turn fading out lucid dream into false awakening by 'grabbing' into it, you could try doing that if it happens again. |
|
The entire important thing you need to do is that complete your dream. |
