      2 types of ADA

Hello guys, i am a little worried about this because, i am not sure how i really should perform ADA.g
there are 2 types of ADA that i perform, but i don't know which one is the most reliable.

Non-action ADA (Don't feel obligated to continue the given task e.g: at home)

In this one basicly i stop what i am doing and question my reality

e.g *writting something on my notebook*
My mind - "?! wait, what if i am dreaming?!"
      *stop writting and looks around*

I always do this one at home because, i don't feel obligated to continue that stopped task.

Action ADA (Feeling obligated to continue the given task e.g: at school, physical education)

In this one i perform a ADA but i have to continue my given task and stop to talk with my friends or teacher.

      e.g

      Teacher- Everyone start running!
      *I start running*
My mind - "Wait, i have to do an ADA but i just can't stop running it would be too embarassing and teacher
could kick me out of the class"

while running i look around and check if everything its in the place
then i do a reality check

I always do this at school, whatever the subject is.

      Now what i ask is:

Is it ok to keep this 2 types of ADA?
Would they get me lucid with whatever ADA i practice?

      thanks for reading

      Have a good day!

It doesn't sound like ADA you're practicing, but rather a form of increasing your awareness every now and then through the day, which is what you should be doing with reality checks anyway.

Really think, "Oh, Christ, I could be dreaming right now!" and entertain the idea for a few minutes, looking around to see if anything is strange or out of place, looking at your hands and counting your fingers to see if everything is normal, then finally carrying out a Reality Check. This is pretty much exactly what you're doing in both of these scenarios, so I'd say keep at it in a way that works. If you're in a conversation with someone and don't want to stop them, just have subtle look around, and then do a nose pinch RC and count your fingers. It'll look like you're scratching your nose or something, so you won't look crazy.

You have Reality Checks down! Good luck in your lucids!

Both of the methods are good for raising awareness and to get the "this is a dream" realization into your regular dreams, as realdealmagic points out.

If you manage each type of your practice few times a day, that's good.

All day awareness is not really something you do. It's more of a lifestyle. When you are always aware of your surroundings. Like a little mouse, that comes out of his hiding place has to be aware of everything - sounds, smells, movement, changes in shadows, now items on the ground... unles he want's to become lunch.

What gab said sums it pretty nicely. Don't complicate things, it's only going to make it harder if you're thinking about "how do I do this, how do I do that". You will get better results (and easier practice) if you stop thinking about ADA like an mechanical action and more as a state of mind. Just call things by their names: "I sometimes question myself or the reality around me, other's I just pay attention to my surroundings." Once you get the core of what you're doing, not only it will make more sense, but you'll know what you're progressing on.

There's more than a way to do things regarding lucid dreaming practice. And yours is a good one so go for it

The mouse thing - I got it from sageouse's self awareness, that's part of his WILD guide. I like how it is a perfect explanation of the "awareness". It really is worth a read.
