Cant Become Lucid In A Dream *Help Me*

I have been obsessed with Lucid Dreaming for the past 2 days and have been trying to have a Lucid Dream. I have only been trying for 2 nights and have not had success so far. I am worried because it seems like it comes so easily to everyone else *at least on the forums*. I had a Lucid Dream once a long time ago but I got over excited *I was 6 years old* and woke up. I didn't know what it was anyway. I have been doing Reality checks regularly in Waking Life. But I guess not in my dreams. I have also been having trouble remembering my dreams. Last night was the first Night I really remembered my dream *read my dream journal*. The dream was about Dream Recall so maybe it was a sign that I will be remembering my dreams more often then before. Please help me get my first real Lucid Dream and tell me if you guys had trouble when you first started too.

I am sorry if you got the impression that lucid dreaming comes easily to everyone else on this forum and requires less than two nights to learn. Actually, most people need a lot of effort to learn to lucid dream consistently, and for many people it takes a lot of effort to have their first lucid dream. Very few very lucky people manage to have their first lucid dream right away. A large portion of this website is dedicated to people discussing all the effort we spend in order to achieve lucidity.

Okay I am glad to hear that I am not the only one having trouble. Besides reality checks do you have any tips that can help me get started?

Another regurgitation of is becoming a catchphrase of sorts: practice makes perfect. From what I can tell, very few have lucid dreams straight after learning about them. You just need to keep at it. Its not an instantaneous thing. Its an art, like painting or cooking. You would have to be exceptionally gifted to have consistent results after just two days. Keep up the reality checks. Keep recalling dreams and keep scouring for dream signs. Inevitably, you will see some results. As a final thought however, you might want look at other methods, such as WILD. You might perform better with them than with DILDs

ADA (all day awareness) couldn't hurt as well.

What dies that mean? Also I think WILD is for more advanced dreamers.

You should probably get more experience with DILD first before you begin WILD, so you can get a feel for the dream before you move on.

ADA is this technique, which works extremely well: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html
“For one priceless moment in the whole history of man, all of the people on this earth are truly one."

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

Here you go: ADA (All-Day-Awareness) - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Also, WILD is usually considered to be significantly advanced by many people, but I've personally found that it not only comes naturally, when used with WBTB, but I have more success with it than with DILDs. Might be something to consider if you're really stuck. Don't give up before you've tried.

Err, I think being too exited may be your problem.

I used to spend all day on DV thinking about lucid dreams and the like. Then I got discouraged, and went off of it for a while, stopped thinking about lucid dreams all day. Then I had one! (3 seconds, mind you) then two nights later, another, longer one!

My point is, you can fail, by trying too hard. I've heard, and experienced this, a lot.

So just ease off the gas there, just a little.

Also! I find that WBTB is the easiest method. I usually do it at like, 7:00 (I'm on summer vacation, so I don't need to go to work or school, sorry if I just offended anyone there) then roll back to bed, more or less using the WILD method.

This way it combines (more or less) two of my favorite methods, its the easiest way for me, and I think you should try it. (If you have summer school, or a job that starts in the morning, I'd suggest trying it on a weekend. )

      Anyways, best of luck, and

      Sweet dreams.

As everyone else said, it usually takes time, varying from person to person, so check out those tutorials, don't try to reach it quickly, it's not about quickness, it's about practice, like a skill, so keep practicing and it will come.
To add, check out this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/dild/13212...ods-dilds.html , for some tips about DILD.

A whopping 6 months until I reached my first LD, and it's been worth it every moment.
