      Question Problems with FILD..Help please!

I tried to do FILD for some nights, but I always have one problem: I do FILD for like, 15-20 mins or so, but I don't fall asleep. What's more is that I can't fall asleep for 1-2 hours after.
      What should I Do?

Are you trying it immediately after going to bed? If so, you have a bit of an uphill battle. Its best to try 5 or 6 hours after you first go to sleep. Even if you try to do it immediately after going to bed, 20 minutes isn't long enough to get any results.

Could you give me a step by step what you are doing? Most importantly how you are waking. If FILD (which is really just DEILD with your fingers as an anchor) doesn't work after about a minute you should stop trying.

FILD tends to be hit-or-miss. It's a type of WILD which is a more difficult yet "better" way to induce lucidity, so it will take a lot of practice. Also, it may not be the method for you. I personally never got anywhere with it, and I remember trying it years ago for months.

Follow everyone else's advice and keep trying before you come to the following conclusion, but there's every chance that the method just isn't for you. Different people have different ways of getting lucid, some ways work for some, others work for others. That's just how it is, everybody's different. It isn't a bad thing, it just means experimentation is a big part in learning how to lucid dream; experimenting with methods, and various ways of doing those methods.

      Good luck!

I don't take FILD seriously. No offense.

It's a legit WILD technique, but its efficacy varies.

Hi everyone, I`ve been successful with DEILD a few times in the past as I wake up many times in the middle of the night but havenīt tryed FILD yet. It happens that I havenīt been succesful lately and I think thatīs because I abandoned my dream journal. I seems that dream recall is fundamental in all techniques. My question to the more experienced is how long do I have to keep the journal ? And I also agree that if FILD fails in the first few minutes, the best thing to do is to change to the highly efective WBTB technique.
