      Having Problems with MILD

OK so for my method before bed I have been doing MILD (mainly because I can't do WILD for some reason) but I always fall asleep doing my mantra so I can't do any dream visualization! Does anyone have any tips on knowing when you are falling asleep or another method before bed that would work better?

The idea of MILD is to really set your intent and make it stick, but also to make that intention be the last thing you think about before falling asleep.

So you are doing nothing wrong here, except worrying.

A dream is an literal experience of yourself, your memories, emotions etc.

So if you worry and are stressed as you fall asleep, you are more likely to have worrysome and stressful dreams.

I usually meditate before going to sleep so I have a calm and still mind, which in turn gives me calm and still dreams.

That is what I find works best for me.

      Sweet dreams!

What Mastermind said. MILD is more about intention and getting into right mindset than doing anything specific, if you can't do visualization, it isn't necessary, just do what you are comfortable with to get into right mindset and think positive!

It's best if you manage to repeat your mantra until you fall asleep, because that's when our mind is most susceptible to suggestions. So you are actually doing very well.

And although visualization may sound complicated, all you need to do is to think about your previous day, or some fantasy of yours, or some cool dream you had. You can do this while thinking your mantra as well.

But visualizing is really not required. Good luck

I've also seen that if your mantra makes you fall asleep and you do want to visualize, you can do that first.

I think it helps not only to tell yourself to become lucid in your dream right before going to bed, but also several times during the day (doing RC's also helps a lot of course) . If lucid dreaming is part of your daily life, not only your night life, the chance that you will get lucid in your dream is a lot bigger. That's just my experience, but I think it's quite logically.
