      New to lucid dreaming

So i just found out about lucid dreaming a few days ago. I would really like to start having them more often. I learned about the mild and wild methods, rem sleep, reality checks, foods to improve lucidity, and dream journals. Im a teenager and have had a couple lucid dreams before, but they didn't last that long. Since i have no experience, what do you think will be the quickest way to have more consistent lucid dreams?

Hey, I'm a teenager as well

It's good that you've had a few already. I used to have nightmares in which I became lucid, almost every single night. Recently I don't get lucid often anymore, which is why I joined this site.

The most important tool you can have is confidence. If you're confident that you'll have a lucid dream every night, then you should have one. This goes hand in hand with MILD.

I recommend apple juice to improve dream quality and recall.

There are so many methods and techniques, and someone's bound to say you should make your own, but I'm partial to the wild techniques. I don't bother with REM cycles though, as a failed WILD can often become a DILD anyway.

Have you read The Secret? Using the general rule of that book will be very helpful in DILDs.

Also, sleep paralysis, if you read anything about it, just ignore it. It was misinformation which spread out of control on this site. I did experience it once, with audio and visual hallucinations, during a WILD attempt- but I'm prone to things like this. Don't worry about it.

      Good luck!

The quickest way I've found is to use isochronic tones. I was only able to achieve lucid dreaming on a hit or miss basis until I started using them. After I started using em to help get me there, I was able to have lucid dreams almost every time I tried.

The best way, I'd say, is to not use any "fast-track" method. The journey's as fun as the destination, I'd say, and it can take a while to find exactly the right recipe to get yourself lucid. If you've had a couple of lucids before then there's a good chance it won't take you too long

Check out the Induction Techniques section of the site for a good starting point.

Quickest way is to learn as much as you can. remember that no one way works for everyone, but every tutorial has something that worked for someone. Get your recall up, don't give up. If you are wanting more consistent LDs, then have a consistent schedule and use techniques that lean towards things that you do already. Know how you learn. Analyze everything. My DJ system can help with this if you use it correctly (in my signature), but make it easy and work for you. It might take you a long time to see results, if you need help getting motivated, then just ask me and I can give you good ways to stay motivated.

After being hit or miss for a while means that you already have a mental preparation ready, but when you used isochronic tones, it took you the rest of the way you needed. Without prior experience, I doubt you would have seen any effect.
