      Weird waking vision

Last night I tried WBTB. I set my alarm for 7:00 am and went to bed at 1:00 am. I can't quite remember when during the night this happened but all of a sudden I sat up in my bed and opened my eyes. I didn't remember actually waking up, but then I noticed how strange my vision was. My room looked perfectly normal, nothing out of the ordinary, but my vision was like these large pixelated hexagons. I normally have to wear glasses to correct my vision but it has never looked that bad before and I have never had my vision appear that way before. So when I was seeing everything that way I thought to myself "This must be a dream, isn't it?" so I immediately tried a few reality checks to see if I was in fact dreaming. There is a stop sign that sits across from my bed on wall, so I looked away and back at it to see if the letters would change, but they didn't. Then I tried looking at my hands to see if they would look weird or anything. Since my vision was so poor I couldn't tell if my hand looked normal or not for a moment. It seemed like I might have had extra fingers but then it became more clear and it looked more normal. So I tried pushing my fingers through my palm and they didn't go through. I then tried breathing through my nose while pinching it and I couldn't breathe, so I figured it wasn't a dream. But I've never had something like this happen to me, can anyone relate to this?

      LD GOAL LIST

      1) Re-live the D-day landings like in the opening scene in 'Saving Private Ryan'. Arrive by landing boat, storm the beach, kill me some Nazis.
      2) A prolonged flying experience through beautiful landscape/scenery
      3) Have a 'nice' time with Chery Cole and Nicole Schwerzinger

It sounds like you had the opposite of what a WILD is. Your body woke up a little before your brain did. This can be a fun state. It is harmless.

Lol, a Dream Initiated Waking Experience .... DIWE !

They rarely happen for me. Maybe twice in total. Both times happened just after a lucid dream.

I had one of these a couple days ago.

I woke up and the first thing I saw was a huge brown teddy bear. It was looking at me and it was stuck to the ceiling. It started spinning around. I was a bit creeped out.

Then my brain finished waking and I could see it had just been a ceiling fan above the bed.

      That's funny.

For me, i saw tubes ones all around me. And after just moving out from my parents i saw a ghost travel through the door upon waking. Scary, lol!

      Now i know why!

It happened to me once also. I woke up and i saw a friend of mine near my bed, which was impossible for him to actually be there. And he was fading, he actually looked like a ghost. So i screamed and never knew why i saw him... until now .

never had that kind of experience.

on a slightly related note, though, i used to wear glasses (short-sighted), had laser-eye corrective surgery and can now see fine and don't need glasses, however, occasionally i will find in my dreams that i need to wear them again! my vision is blurry until i put on my glasses, and i will be baffled as to why i need them again, and a little disappointed that the laser surgery is wearing off!
