      Is this a lucid dream.

Hey guys, I am a new lucid dreamer, and I'll give you my first (what I believe) lucid dream. I am not sure if this is, because when I was in it was really weird. Maybe I was in a low layer, and btw I had a Choline Bitartrate tablet before I went to bed.

18/2/14 Lachlan a friend at my school was guiding me through sort of a cave with some parkour objects that I had to pass.
It was based in Minecraft. Lachlans voice was there, nothing else. When I first joined the dream, I instantly thought, how did I get here
and did a reality check, and it appeared I had some extra pinkies on my hands, inbetween my pinky and ring finger.
I quickly calm myself down since this is the first dream I knew I was dreaming. I don't know what to do, so I start rubbing my hands,
it feels weird, my hands feel numb, and a little bit like they are vibrating, but as I rub my hands nothing noticeable happens, so after about 3
seconds I stop, and I keep moving forward in the dream. Lachlan is guiding me through the first obstacle. There is no pathway, so I have to walk
on some vines over this ledge sort of thing to get past. I easily slide past on the vines, and I am in this area, it's quite open (for a cave)
and I see some blocks disappearing, I don't know what to think, so I just start trying to spin around, but at this point I am in 3rd person view, or
I am looking from someone else's eyes, as the blocks are disappearing, I am moving further back in my view,
it seems like I am the player at the computer, controlling him,
trying to spin him around really fast to stabilize the dream. Then it all goes black. All of a sudden I was in another dream, I thought I was
so I reality checked (I think) and it didn't work so I thought it was reality, it was a bright sunny corner of a street in the 1980's I think.
Most of the men were wearing tuxedos or something. There was one guy sitting in a cafe, at the edge of the road, and I was there talking to him.
      That's all I could remember.

      Hello, InfernoDreams.

Yes it does sound like you became lucid, because the only requirement for a lucid dream is that you realize that you are dreaming, and you seemed to do that.
      Congratulations!

Your second dream sounds like a False Awakening, which simply means that you believe you have woken up but in fact it is a dream about waking up.
Sometimes those dreams can be really convincing, so you should make it a habit to make several Reality Checks every time you wake up.

If you knew or felt you were dreaming, then it's lucid. I use to say that there are different levels of "lucidness" (or whatever), while some people say it's just lucid, but with different level of awareness.

In any case, it seems it was one of those situations where you are a bit trapped in the dream, and you continued in it. Meaning, you wasn't (what I call) fully lucid, and your brain tricked you somehow so you continued the flow of the dream even if it was complete ilogical. Something similar happened to me one time as I remember... I was talking with my dad and looked at my hand and realized I was dreaming and I felt excited... but I don't remember why, I just continued in the dream normally. Also, stupid situations like having some kind of police chase, and I was in the middle of the action just jumping or flying with my car "because it's my dream and I do what I want", but when waking up I realized it wasn't what I expect a real lucid dream to be... no reality checks at all, and just doing stupid things "because it's a dream". Call it low awareness, or none at all
Anyway, your situation was different because it seems you did a couple of checks and stabilization tries.

About the second case, I don't think it was a False Awakening as Laurelindo said, unless you woke up in bed and though it was real. On a FA (or at least it's my case) you just wake up feeling it normal, and you usually are yourself (meaning you're lucid and aware), but just don't know it's a dream, unless you always do RCs as Laurelindo says (which I also recomend), so you will also do them on an FA and detect it.

Everytime I wake up I always look at my hands and look around.

In any case congratulations and keep on it. Maybe you should set some basic stuff to do when becoming lucid, so you don't stop there not knowing what to do. I once read on a guide that you can try summoning a mirror on the wall and walk into it, to change the scenario. I tried it once and I ended on another false awakening, but who knows it may work for you.

Sounds like a lucid dream to me, you were aware, but you still "played along" with the flow of the dream. As Irreo said, maybe plan some things to do before hand so you're not wondering what to do. One of my goals is to have a conversation with my subconscious, so next time I'm lucid I'm gonna try that. Also imo I don't think I'd try looking in a mirror in a dream, I haven't before, but it's supposed to be terrifying! :0
