Does white noise like a dehumidifier help acquire a lucid mental state?

I usually use white noise to drown out the sound of people walking around upstairs since I sleep downstairs, but could this serve a purpose further than that? We have guinea pigs who annoingly squeak all the time, but I have a theory. The white noise makes a standard for silence, and the guinea pigs are loud in general. The white noise helps drown out the guinea pigs, because they squeak quite loudly without the white noise maker on. Could the guinea pigs squeaking while I'm in REM make me realize that the guinea pigs are things from the real world and that this is just a dream? Because in the past, it's woken me up, or I've just not noticed, it, but am I supposed to have them squeak more? or pay more attention to their squeaks?

Yes the guinea pigs have that potential to make you lucid but it depends on how comfortable you are with the noises they make. Personally I would suggest turning off your white noise tool just so you can get used to all the sounds that you hear when you have it off. It shouldnt take too long where those noises wont even bother you anymore and you wont notice them. As for the guinea pigs, it depends on how loud they are, they have to be right in the middle of being loud, but not too loud enough to wake you up. That will make you hear the noises they make in your dreams and youll notice it. You cant really make them squeak more(if you can then use it to your advantage lol) and you can train yourself to pay more attention to them by turning off your humidifier/white noise tool. For a while that will do what you're looking for by making you notice it more often, but like I said if theyre too loud its not going to make you lucid, it will only wake you up.

Sudden noise spikes in the environment within the first 30 minutes of hitting the pillow wake me up pretty quickly. My plan was that since there would be an adaptative standard that I have adjusted to, 45dB, and since guinea pig squeaks are slightly above that on average, 47dB, it might just be subtle enough for my brain to activate beast mode.
I'm going to demonstrate it on a makeshift graph.

Well you cant expect your body to adapt to those noises immediately haha, it takes time.

I'm a relatively light sleeper so I dont think that's a viable option tbh

Yea but if you're that much of a light sleeper then the whole EILD technique is useful to you at all then and also as I said adapting to those sounds would take time, if you havent tried it yet man I wouldnt just trash it.

If your guinea pigs are able to wake you up quite often
There is slight chance for them to awaken you during active rem sleep period.

This could give you ability to apply DEILD Technique in order to achieve lucidity.
