Hi, Doolittle. The problem of thinking of your body will go away in time, especially after you've had a number of lucid dreams. Starting out, it's normal for LDs to be a bit short. Also
I always try to calm down quickly and try to rub my hands together to make everything more vivid, but I'll always wake up and its frustrating.
Since this is only week two, I wouldn't stress too much about what is currently happening. You're having lucid dreams, and at a pretty decent frequency for your first two weeks. After you've had a number, the excitement will go away and it will be easier to stabilize and maintain the dream. Classic stabilization techniques are anything that engages you more deeply with the dream environment: rubbing hands, feeling the textures of things (and no, I don't mean a hot DC's body because that will just excite you more), and spinning around. All of these have been tested numerously by members of the forum, as well as in dream studies.
As to the stabilization method of moving your hand in front of your face: probably works for DreamBrandt, but I would suggest sticking to something standard that works for everyone.
I would also suggest joining the DILD class: DILD. FryingMan and fogelbise are great teachers. Good luck.
