Bigger and more vivid dreams during this time.

Hello.Since i first started practicing lucid dreaming(no success yet) 2 weeks ago I have been workig my dream recall. What i noticed this past 2-3 mornigs is that i i oversleep i have longer and more vivid dreams during that oversleep time.I also remember that dreams more clear. For example today i would normaly wake up after 7 hours of sleep. My alarm ring and i wake up with no dream memories. So i fell asleep imediately and i woke up 70 minutes later. And wow i had an interesting dream more vivid than the usual foggy fragments i had and i remembered most of it.Give that oversleep a try.I also use the mantra "i remember my dreams" when falling asleep.

Well you know what they say- it's not the size of the dream that counts, it's what you do with it.

So what do you suggest i should start doing with my dreams in order to enhance the chances of getting lucid ? Never been lucid before.

I was actually just making a joke about the title of this thread "Bigger.. dreams" Never heard these two words used together.

What do I suggest? Affirmations. Intention. Desire. Dream journaling. The Wake Back To Bed method. Reality Checks. Etc.

LOL The correct adjective would be "longer." BTW I'm an English teacher if you couldn't tell.

I had today similar situation but with LD. I'll also give a try to this sleep after sleep thing. Actually it's just WBTB. Recall is better then because our sleep is shallow, I think. You can't achieve deep dream when you sleep only hour (and these are harder to recall). Maybe you'll get some FA as well doing that. Good luck!

You did 4 things that can make magic happen.

      1. You slept longer.
The longer we sleep, the longer our REM gets. After maybe 7-8 hrs, it's almost all REM, which is the sleep period when dreams happen. Longer REM = longer chance to become lucid.

      2. You slept longer than your normal sleep time.
This means you were asleep at the time when your mind is used to being awake and alert. This is a basic CAT techique as well. And since it's easier to get lucid with alert mind, there is a better chance to "wake up" your mind in your dream and have a lucid. Alert mind is also a reason why we tend to easier be lucid at the end of the sleep, when mind is already starting to wake up.

      3. WBTB
You woke up and went back to bed (WBTB).
Normally WBTB is at least few min to an hour or so long, and you need to actually get out of the bed. But for some it may work just the way you did it - not getting up and going back to sleep right away. This also wakes up your mind a little bit and makes it easier to have a lucid - DILD, eventhough WBTB is used primarily for WILDs.

      4. You had a mantra about dreams.
Everything that makes you think about your dreams more is good for ya.

So if i sleep for like 9-10 hours it means that i am going to be in REM during that 2 extra hours?Which means dreams right?Maybe i will try that....i am in a dream recall dry spell for over a week now and i wake up having nothing....
