How to LD on a night flight

Hey, I will return to Paris tomorrow (from São Paulo) with a ~11 hour night flight. I wanted to try and LD while on the plane (why not, right?), and would like to know how you guys would do this. I have a good sleep mask and a Bose QC, which allows me to hear *nothing*.
      Any tips?
      Thanks!
(I have zero LD experience btw, only a DILD Workbook )

The less you sleep tonight, the easier it will be to fall asleep tomorrow.

I don't know, I think it would be hard. On most planes I go on, usually they're pretty good about keeping it quiet. But, if your luck is as terrible as mine, you'll get stuck next to the mother of the four year old who throws a temper tantrum in the middle of the night.

Plane cabins are pressurized, but not to sea level. I think its pressurized to the air pressure about 6,000-8,000 feet above sea level during flight to reduce stress on the plane and air pressurization equipment. (This is why your ears may pop on plane flights and why you sometimes feel drowsy, lack of oxygen.) I'm pretty sure this lack of oxygen will somewhat impede brain function and make lucid dreaming more difficult to do.

Though honestly, since I haven't been on enough plane flights to have tested lucid dreaming techniques thoroughly, I couldn't say. I'd guess it would be pretty much the same as lucid dreaming any other night, just you're sleeping in an uncomfortable plane chair. (Or comfortable if you're first class... )

You still have a chance to experiment if you haven't left yet Centroid! (or next flight) I have tried on some shorter flights ~3 hours and ~5 hours and got a lot of interesting HI's (maybe more) on the last ~3 hour flight. The HI's were very enjoyable and they seemed to go on and on for quite a while which made me wonder if I was getting lucid NREM. Before nodding off I was reviewing quite a few trip photos on my phone and then set some intention to stay aware. I can't remember if I did SSILD. I will check my notes. I don't remember being sleep deprived.

Thanks for the replies guys! Flight just started boarding!

      1st class, I wish, lol...

Well, on night flights, I basically fall asleep then wake up multiple times throughout the night, so it's just an uncomfortable night where I'm interrupted every hour or less. I'm not sure I'll go straight to REM though...

I think I'll just do SSILD cycles every time I wake up. Maybe try to WILD if I get in lots and lots of cycles without falling asleep.

Another thing I could do: DEILD. Since I wake up all the time (baby cries, turbulence, etc.) I will have many opportunities to try and DEILD.

So, I believe I could do SSILD cycles, and DEILD when I wake up, repeated throughout the night, which will be frequently interrupted. I think I read somewhere that DEILDs are easier after going to sleep having done SSILD, according to Cosmic Iron I believe, and his 'sink head in pillow while focus on ears' technique.

Basically I'll do everything I know on this flight Oh well, see you on the other side!

Okay, tonight was not good, I slept maybe one hour tops.

BUT, I had done a few SSILD cycles, had an interesting FA on the plane, where it nearly crashed and I went into the pilots room to save the plane

So, I learnt that I reach REM in less than one hour! Weird, huh? Maybe I'm an exception to the 'never WILD when you go to bed' rule! But forget it, I have swallowing problems whenever I WILD.

Thanks for trying to help by the way! Much appreciated.
