Naps are great for that - my nap LDs tend to be short, but hey, I'm still lucid so I guess that's all the matters. |

In the past month I have taken three naps.. Each time I had a lucid dream. Mind you the one that I had today I didn't have as much control as I normally do, I couldn't even fly out the window. Then I woke up soon after that because my mom was poking at me. Damn her. |

Love slips through my grasp once again
Its funny how wrong you can be about a person.
you think they love you, and it turns out to be a lie.
you think you know them, and they turn out to be the exact opposite
A dream, a nightmare, no! A vision, a vision.. of invasion

My first lucid dream after joining this forum was during a nap. |

I only nap for about fifteen minutes and don't try to LD. When I need a nap it's out of being too exhausted, but when a LD starts I let myself go, forgetting the regular fifteen minute nap that eneergizes me for hours. They tend to be shorter though and I'm more likely to have false awakenings during a nap than sleep. |

Naps are good because they tend to capture one REM period. Upon awakening each time, it is extremely easy to remember. Also I'm thinking because you exit the real world to REM so quickly lucidity is more easily obtained. |

Yep! Naps yield my highest percentage of LDs. |

yeah, definitely. an hour nap, for me - sometimes seems longer (and more effective) than a 6 hr sleep. usually because I lucid dream during the short naps.......... |

Ok, it's kinda strange seeing what other people say about it, but for me it seems that naps never work. I rarely have any recall from them, and have never had an LD from one that I know of. I'm not sure why this is, maybe I don't nap long enough or just shifting in and out of light sleep. |
|
I use to nap alot but i've stopped now because every time i do i go into Sleep Paralysis (sometimes when i'm not even trying to WILD |

Wow never thought naps where that good for LDing because I thought you wouldn't enter into REM sleep for a while but maybe thats different with naps in the day. (I no it's possible to enter REM sleep straight away but usually you have non-REM lasting 90 to 120 minutes) I'll give them a shot if I can get myself tired enough. |
|
I bet if you know your about to nap you could probably focus really hard on going from reality to lucidity by just concentrating on it hard enough.... saying something to yourself or picturing some imagery to start in... |
|
I usually don't even remember my dreams when I nap, let alone go lucid. |
|
my best lucid times come from naps, but like everybody else before said, they are shorter lucids than at night. I found the best time for me is a few hours after I wake up in the morning. I go to a military academy so I am usually tired so I always nap in between classes, even in the morning. Those are the times I become lucid the most. |

I never seem to enter REM when taking a nap in the afternoon, because I can't even remember having a single dream during naps. I don't have an alarm clock either. I just wake up half an hour - hour later after starting the nap. I know I've fallen asleep, but I can't recall having dreamed. It's easy for me to fall asleep during the afternoon (even if I already had enough sleep that day! |

Sure, why not?

After reading this post I decided to take a nap. Near the end of my two hour nap I had a long fairly vivid dream (I didn't realize I was dreaming). I'm wondering if REM kicks in only near the end of a nap, or the beginning too, any thoughts? (Also for a nap, what would be a good induction technique?). |

Wow, Jimbo... That is AMAZING! How you can re-enter your dreams.. I wish I could do that hahaha. |

I think trying to get lucid helps me nap. I nap when I'm not sleeping at night and since it's daylight I have to really try. I usually only nap for 15 minutes but if I am sick and/or feel I've been lacking sleep, I'll force it so I can sleep longer. |
