Spontaneous WILD, without all the steps

Most of the WILD guides here seem to describe a lengthy process with a plethora of steps and stages to go through in order to acheive WILD. Recently I had a WILD that did not involve any of that.

I was tired sometime during the day and laid face down on my bed. I began thinking of things and imagining things, as a continuation of my normal train of thought. My subconscious began to take control of the thoughts. Elements of the images in my imagination began to appear in my field of vision. Over the span of about a minute, things moved out of my imagination and into my actual senses, until I was completely immersed, in first person with control of motion. I was still completely aware that I was in a dream and of the process I went through to get there. I went on and continued with my dream and controlled it.

So I got from being awake, to lucid dreaming by doing nothing but laying down in bed and letting my thoughts take over. I assume that would qualify for a WILD. So why can't it always be this easy, and for everyone? Why do the guides outline so many steps? Vibrations? Sleep Paralysys? I don't remember any of that. I think those are meant for OOBE, not WILD.

That sounds amazing. I have only ever had one WILD and man, that was hard to do.

Congratulations in your success. And for your question as to why it's not so easy for everyone, I have no real answer. One possibility is that we assume it will be hard, so it is.

I believe that could be caused by ur mind being more tired than ur body i've dun that once before but only after mental work not pychical thats just my opinion. = )

It's best to be good and tired when attempting to have a WILD. It's much easier and almost instantaneous if you're in the right frame of mind and your body is sufficiently tired.

You don't need to go through all of the feelings and sensations at all when you have a WILD. Those are just some of the things some people experience. I rarely experience anything either, just a slight sensation that alerts me that I'm dreaming. No SP or vibrations or old hag effect.

I had a WILD exactly like that. I just released my mind of any thoughts during my nap and I just felt I could move. A dream appeared.

Yeah, all that vibrations and stuff isn't always needed to WILD. Personally, I also have spontaneous WILDs, and if I'm really tired, it will be like you described. If I'm pretty rested already, I'll get all the vibrations etc.

yeah that perrty sweet ass. I had a couple of wilds that involved me going unconcious and then concious for the last step of a wild. it was perrty sweet. But the fact that you did it during the day is awsome. i doubt i could do that.

I never prepare myself for a WILD, I just lay back and let it come to me. I count to try and keep my mind awake.

Wow, nice. Gg on that. That's actually pretty good advice, maybe it's almost easier if you're not trying as hard?

I have had one WILD myself, and it happened in a similar fation (sp?). I have never had a WILD like people here usually explain it.

Billybob made a "How to Lucid Dream" topic, and it includes how to WILD. He is the only one I have seen that posts the exact steps without saying anything about HI, SP, etc.

I very rarely have long WILD entrances, most of mine are fast.

I almost had an accidental WILD this morning. After I woke up and was about to go back to sleep, I consciously, yet unintentionally, went through sleep paralysis 2 or 3 times, each time willing myself to wake up because it scared me. The next time I went through sleep paralysis, I actually felt my eyes darting back and forth behind my closed eyelids (REM), and I heard this LOUD buzzing going from one ear to the other - it sounded just like a bee! It scared me so much so that I willed myself up yet again, and fell asleep without WILDing. I still had vivid dreams, however.

That happened to me. I woke from a short, hazy lucid and thought "Screw that! I'm not going to be cheated out of another lucid!" So I imagined a riverbank and soon I was walking down it.
