Thread: Why I don't sleep naked (strange LD induction technique?)

I always sleep naked - and that's never happened to me... was what I wanted to write, however I just now realized that I was naked during my whole first LD!

I thank you for making me remember that old memory.

And for those not sleeping naked; you should!

But yea, try using your nakedness to induce LD, and tell us about it. Good luck!

ha thats funny for me I wouldnt mind I'd just walk around naked. one time I wanted to stripe and run through a mall but I think excitement woke me up before i could do it.

Now that you mention it, last time I slept naked, I had a naked dream!

Don't be sad, this could be a very good dream sign! If I were you, I would sleep naked as much as possible. You could get lucid every time you're in a dream where you're naked, and once you're lucid, you shouldn't worry about being naked since it's just a dream, unless the situation calls for being clothed, which wouldn't be too hard.

Also, being naked constantly during lucidity, could help you maintain lucidity. If you started to lose it, you could notice your nakedness and sustain lucidity.

Use it to your advantage!

What an intriguing concept.
Would having a blanket over your body effect this? I can understand that sleeping naked would have you appear naked in a dream since you're body doesn't feel clothed, but maybe a blanket would be enough to appear clothed in your dreams.

I actually found myself naked in my dream the other night and it caused me to go lucid. If you are naked in your dreams when you sleep naked then you should use that as a dream sign. Forget about clothes, dream characters don't care if you're naked, and I find that I forget about my body anyway.

Bleh, I don't think I could ever sleep without clothes, too exposed.

Does the nakedness help induce your LDs or is it just a side effect you've noticed in them? If the former, I'd just sleep naked and have naked fun in your dream.

To all of those saying that I should always sleep naked to use the nakedness as a dreamsign to get more lucid dreams: It's not possible for me to get more lucid dreams than I already have. I meant that others could do this to get a sure dreamsign: when you're naked in your dream, use that as a dreamsign, and get lucid! You just need to tell yourself to do a reality check when you find yourself naked... and not in bed.

Ha, If I do that I frantically search for clothes in my dream.

It can be a great dream sign though.

I don't think i've ever had a naked dream, but then again, I can't ever recall what I was wearing in my dream either. I'll try and pay more attention to myself in future dreams!

Sleeping naked is risky! What if you sleep walked...!!!

I sleep walked out of my apartment and down the road naked once... no not really, wouldn't that be funny though?

A weird thing that happened to me is: once I went to bed clothed, but I woke up not wearing any. I might have sleep-walked or something like that oO

You know why I don't sleep naked? Because I sleep with my door open and I'm afraid my blanket will come off during the night. It could happen, it's happened to my brother... Nnnngggh. His arse was just hanging out in the wind. As soon as I saw it I closed the door to his room as quickly as possible and then attempted to gouge my eyes out with the first thing I could find but those toothpicks weren't cutting it. Anyways this doesn't sound like a preferable induction tech for me but whatever works. It would kind of suck though because once you become lucid you have to summon clothes unless you want to walk around your dream naked the entire time and then you'd have a lot of dreams where you don't become lucid but are still naked which would also suck.

When I'm naked in a lucid dream, I usually don't care (unless nudity makes the scenario out of character, in which I'll put clothes on for the sake of presentation).

Do DCs point out that you are naked? Or do you check on your own?

If imagining clothes doesn't work, why not present you are wearing a skin suit/costume? Yes, and the zipper is slightly below your neck. Unzipping the skin suit will reveal the clothes you wore the prior day.

I always sleep naked. I have had many dreams when I was younger about being in school and all of a sudden only have my t-shirt. All of my other clothes were gone. It could have a connection.

It's not that usual to dream about being naked in public.
But if you sleep naked i agree with you that you can use that as your own kind of NILD.
And i think that after a while when you gotten more confertable with sleeping naked you might stop being naked in the dreams to.

This is true.

I bought myself a new night gown that's sleeveless and with spaghetti straps. I wore it for the first time last night, and I wore less clothing in my dreams (not naked). I'm used to wearing something with sleeves when I sleep.

I had a friend back in school who would always do this. She would go to bed fully clothed and wake up totally naked. She would never remember taking off the clothes. It was inconvenient when she would crash at some strange place after a party. She would get up to go get some breakfast, and halfway to the kitchen I would have to say, "Ummm, Heidi, you going to put on some clothes, or what?".

I remember one haloween in Santa Barbara, the two of us ended up sleeping on the floor under a pinball table because the house was so full of passed out people. When we woke up, she was 100% naked. Now that I think about it, I was wearing a different costume than I started the night with, so maybe there was more going on there than I remember.
