My plan didn't really work at all. I think drinking and smoking threw off my chances at success. Also, I've been having little to no recall for a few days since then.

Yet another attempt at a W.I.L.D.

I've been awake since noon on Saturday, so I'm quite exhausted at the moment. Once 6:00 rolls around and the birds start chirping, I usually don't bother trying to sleep through it. We have a lot of really loud birds around my house so it can be frustrating.

Okay, so this time, I plan on trying to go to sleep around 10:00 pm so that'll be around 34 hours of being awake. That should be enough to speed up the falling asleep process. I have yet to pull off a successful W.I.L.D., so I'm not exactly sure how to do it. But what better time to give it a shot? The fun part about sleep deprivation are the mild exhaustion induced hallucinations.

I tried to read a book a few hours ago, but I couldn't make it through more than 10 pages. After a few minutes of sitting still, I started to fall asleep while reading and had to re-read the same sentence 6 times before I actually comprehended what I read. Reading is so hard for me when I'm tired. I wonder if certain parts of the brain don't function as well when deprived of sleep compared to other parts.

I don't know if it'll actually work, but I'm setting my alarm for 3:00 a.m. for another W.I.L.D. attempt as a backup plan, or in case of success, for double the fun!

Have you read around in the Alternative Sleep Patterns section? There is a lot of discussion of sleep deprivation.

Especially check out this thread, from the creator of 'Uberman'

The Uberman sleep schedule looks awesome, but there's no way I'd be able to strictly follow it. While reading about it, I've decided to try the Everyman sleep schedule.

When my alarm went off at 4:00 am this morning, I woke right up, turned it off, and fell back asleep almost immediately, completely forgetting to try a W.I.L.D again. When I first went to sleep, I tried meditating. It was very relaxing. I tried to just maintain some sort of awareness as I fell asleep, but sleep snuck up on me, and before I knew it, my 4:00 am alarm woke me up. I did have really long and vivid dreams though.

Tonight I begin my adjustment to the Everyman sleep schedule. I plan on sleeping from 1 to 4 am, then taking a 20 minute nap at 9am, 2pm, and 7pm. I have a feeling the 4 am wake up is going to be tough at first but for an extra 5 hours in the day, I'll give it a shot for a few weeks before school starts. And if I can pull it off, then I plan on continuing through Jr year.

If by smoking you mean weed then that is why you couldn't remember your dreams. Weed makes it so you can't remember your dreams at all (or have a super hard time trying). That's why I am so hesitant to smoke these days

For me, weed doesn't affect my recall. I can smoke myself into oblivion and still remember 2 - 3 dreams. I think it's all in your head. I think the main problem for my recall was that I'd wake up on my friend's couch, and not even think to bother remembering my dreams. As soon as I wake up, I remember all of them, but if I don't do anything about it, they quickly fade away.

All i'm saying is go a while without weed (maybe a week or so) and see what happens

Hey, you may be right, it's different for everyone!

During last school year, I was heavily into weed, and that was also when I got into lucid dreaming attempts. Once summer started, I didn't smoke for over a month straight, and didn't notice any change in my recall. Actually, the closest I've ever came to a W.I.L.D. was during a nap right after smoking a bowl. In my opinion, dream recall depends heavily on what you do when you wake up, not so much on what you do when before going to sleep. I just want to add that if you smoke regularly, try stopping completely for a month or more, then smoke a few bowls of headies... It's unreal.
