Smile When You become lucid, what do you do: think it, say it aloud to yourself, or tell someone?

Usually when I become L, I just think it to myself. Sometimes I'll tell someone, but I don't ever remember me saying it aloud to myself. You guys?

I totally thought this was some bizarre reference to Death Note.

Depends. I do all those things, randomly... Just depending on the current dream-mood, I guess.

Where in Wisc are you from, BTW?

      N. Midwest. It's snowing right now! It gets REALLY cold here. We, like, never have snow days here. We have "cold" days. Cause sometimes it's -18* F outside.

I guess I don't live in BTW, I don't even know what that stands for.

BTW just means "by the way."

I ask because I went to college in Wisc. UW-Madison. And yes I remember the snow.

Sorry, I'm not good with some of those texting phrases. There are so many I don't know. It sounded like an abreviation for a city.

I've said it aloud to myself when I got my first LD or at least I think I did

      Haha, same here Mes ^.^

Anyway, I usually think it. When I first started lucid dreaming I told every dream character I ran into, but they never listen so what's the point?

Every now and again when I run into a close friend I'll try to make them aware though.

Both times I've said it aloud. Then again, I talk to myself quite frequently, so perhaps there's something to that

Don't worry, I talk to myself sometimes too. Don't mind them (people who make you uncomfortable because of it)

I say it out loud to help stabilize, and if I'm with DCs of my friends/family then I'll tell them, because they usually react very positively and it helps stabilize the dream, too.

Aren't we all kind of different (good diff.) if we go on this site? Come on, how many people actually care about dreams? None of my friends do, but, of course, I do.

A lot of the time when I become lucid it's because I've been explaining reality checks to a DC and one of my examples happened to work. In these (and other) cases, I habitually drop to the ground to ground myself (no pun intended) into the dream by focusing on the ground in front of me. Once I stand up, the people are normally gone so there's nobody to tell.

When I tell someone in my dream that I'm dreaming, they usually are just like "oh". Only once did these 3 guys that I told wanted me to prove it. I talk about it in one of my threads. I'll tell ya which thread in a min., if you're interested.

It's Money and swimming in LD. I talk about two dreams

When I just become lucid, keep it to myself, thes pesky DC have no need to know about it, and I'm to lazy to tell them (Plus, why yell something I already know?)

Both times I've worked out that I was in a dream aloud, but never actually said anything about lucidity.

I never say that I'm lucid either, just that I know I'm dreaming

ive never really thought about what i do. i think usually i say to myself in my head tons of times "im lucid, im dreaming, im lucid, im dreaming..." so that i dont forget im dreaming. then nothing after that, i dont tell anyone, i just fly off.

Normally I think it, or go around telling random astral folk that I'm lucid and wide awake in my "dream" lol but they never seem to hear me or acknowledge me
