During a wbtb is it necesary to stay up for a while before you go back to sleep?

because (even though ive never tried) i feel that getting out of the bed would decrease my chances. i normally wake up, hit my alarm power and then try to wild. without getting up or staying awake for 30 min - 1 hr

As long as you're awake and aware enough to retain consciousness while falling back asleep, it should be a problem. Getting out of bed tends to help that, but if you honestly think you don't need it to truly wake up, then all the more power to you.

Myself, I tend to get up and go to the bathroom before WBTB WILD attempts. Just enough movement to make me more focused and less groggy. IMO, grogginess is your biggest enemy when attempting a WILD.

Try whatever works best for you. If you're afraid of not being able to go back to sleep comfortably or quickly, make your WBTB short. If you're afraid of falling asleep too soon, stay up longer.

If you're DILDing, you should wake up enough to where you can do /something/ lucid dreaming related.

You should /always/ wake up long enough to record the dream you woke up from.

When I do WBTB, I don't get out of bed either. Like the others said, just do what works best for you.
Lucid dreaming makes for a wonderful night's play.

whatever works for you, you'll have to test and find out. Too short and you won't retain conciousness (spoelled wrong I'm sure). Too long and you can't fall asleep.

Beginners and there repetitive replies. Personally when I am trying to perform a WBTB when I wake up I try to stay as still as possible with eyes closed so I can enter back into a dream as quickly as possible.

Think of it as doing a WILD as soon as you wake up. Very effective way of achieving an LD in my opinion

That's more like a DEILD than a WBTB.
