What I have found is that the more I think about lucid dreaming, the more likely I am to experience them. This principle I liken to the idea that a dream journal signals to your mind that remembering dreams is important to you. Similarly, if you often think about lucid dreaming throughout your day (coupled with reality checks, of course), then it should become obvious to your brain that you wish to have them. I rarely use standard techniques anymore because this seems to work so well for me. However, I still want to master the WILD method since it is pretty exciting.
