Thread: How Long Before First Lucid?

About two years at least, I actually can't believe I stuck with it so long-well not that I actually really do anything to have them now except WBTB. Still can't WILD but am working on it.

I thought I'd never get one, it seemed like lucid dreaming was this crazy unattainable thing that most other people could do (on this forum anyway) but I couldn't Then finally I got one, so if anyone is feeling discouraged, just know that however long it takes you you will get there eventually. By the way I'm not saying expect it to take you as long as it took me because most people seem to have them within a month of hearing about them, I must just be a really slow learner.

Same sentiments from me. I dreamed of being lucid last night (it was really invigorating, just being so close.) I, too, think that I should be feeling discouraged by now, but I'm really not.

I mean, it does seem like this ridiculously hard thing, when actually thinking about it proves that it is really quite simple. That might be why it seems so hard for us - our body thinks it is this unobtainable state.

One month. It was a sort of MILD...man, was I doing it wrong, though.

We had our first lucid the same day , October 4th 2009!

Found it. You, me, and Fattox were all racing, and all had a lucid on the same day.

haha yes it was me! I just went through that convo, good times, still remember my first lucid like it was yesterday... of course I have it written down. And I know! It was SOO creepy, the 3 of us, same morning BAM we went lucid for the first time

Heheh, the convo made me cringe a little bit. I forgot how annoying I was (and still sort of am). Apologies, everyone.

But yeah, freaky stuff. It would be seriously cool if a fourth person came out of the woodwork and claimed to do the same thing.

don worry everyone has their own pace - consider yourself fortunate since "most" people don't have em at all.

Oh I do, lucid dreams are definitely worth the wait and I probably appreciate them more because of how long it took me to have one. It is kinda frustrating that a lot of people are like "oh I got lucid the night I read about it" though. Well it would be if I still couldn't LD.

Within a few days of learning about it.

For me it took a fair while... I think I had little snippets of LDs within the first few weeks, but for a good length LD it was probably some months...
