      Weird SP Experience Last Night

hi guys this is my first time back after a long break from lucid dreaming due to course work etc, anyway its the summer so last night i decided to try and get back into lucid dreaming So im lying down on my bed (I had not been asleep at all yet) letting my mind wander trying to cut out the interuptions of the outside world and after being there for a certain amount of time i began to hear random voices and started to see a kitchen with people wandering had the sensation of having a bright light flashing in my closed eyes, my heart started beating and my chest felt heavy now i knew this was SP so i went along with it. However it all kind of died down all of a sudden and the sensation left me so my question is WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?? Should i try this again after a few hours sleep using the WBTB Technique? I would really appreciate some help here guys thanks in advance

Maybe you became too excited/surprised at the onset, or there was a noise somewhere that you couldn't hear while in SP that brought you out of it?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It's a matter of experience. Eventually it won't bother you, even if it comes suddenly.
