Question What's wrong with my DEILD?

I have an mp3 file with 4 and half hours silence, then a 90 second tone.I used this mp3 file to DEILD.After 4 and half hours,I woke up as the tone started, and I didn't open my eye nor move my body, and waited for 5 minutes and I couldn't enter dream, what did I do wrong?

Tone was too long and you didn't wait long enough, you need to be patient. Learn to control your emotions through practice. Lucid dreaming is a skill, and most skills are aquired by practice.

I will decrease the time of the tone to 10 seconds
But how didn't I stay long enough,I heard that with DEILD I should be in a dream in less than 10 seconds

I've never really done DEILD with any kind of noise, all though I have wanted to try, I usually wake up randomly. Also you might want to kind of let your mind drift for a few moments and bring it back, this could bring you on the edge of sleep you need to be on to perform one. Also if your just laying there a dream won't usualy just start all by it's self, use your imagination and make it happen. All these things I have elaborated on here.

Nothing is wrong with your DEILD. Probably you didn't wake during REM sleep. Keep trying, the right time will come

ALSO: reduce the tone length, it's too long. I have the same method for DEILD and my alarm only plays during 5 seconds. Find the best minimum length.
