Wink Need opinions on my OBE experience

Hi, this is my first post on these forums. I've been reading a lot on these forums and just have a question I'd like to ask. This morning I had an OBE experience. I had the normal vibrations that got intense until I was suddenly placed into the scenery of my home(I'm living at college).
What happened was that I was almost "tossed" onto the couch in my basement where my parents were. I waved at them and they kind of just looked at me... I didn't feel as welcomed as I always do in my own home. I tried to start speaking and it came out very weird. I felt as though I could not form words and I would make a lot of sounds without good pronunciation. This alone was kind of disconcerting for me. Then I went up the stairs because I felt nothing was happening where I was and I was almost moving in slow motion/ things were kind of cloudy. I reach the top of the stairs and I see my grandma looking at me (she was just downstairs and then somehow was upstairs). At this point of moving so slowly and being a little creeped out because I didn't feel welcomed I woke up.
My question is why I had trouble talking and moving and how come I didn't really experience the real-time realm like I normally read about. I need tips on how to make my OBE experiences better ~ thanks

I'm guessing this was only a dream, not an OBE. Not really a thing to worry about, as you were just thrown into sort of a WILD. I doubt it was an AP.

To have an actual OBE, when you are in the vibrating state for a minute or two, try to move your dream body away from your waking body, as if you want to float away or something similar. My favorite way is to try and fall through the bed.

Well the thing was that I was having hypnogaugic imagery (or however you spell it) of the basement in my house. Then when I started to feel vibrations I concentrated on leaving my body and I believe my intention was to be where I was just picturing. This led me to believe it was an OBE. Being thrown onto the couch may not have been the best description, it was more as if i fell onto the couch (I like the falling sensation when I start to project). This could still be a WILD as you say though. Do you know a good method to determine whether you are dreaming or projecting??

A kind of separate question, have you or anyone else felt a headache sensation as you try to project? This has happened to me once or twice and it doesn't feel pleasant.

It just appears you had HI of where you wanted to go, and you entered a dream of exactly that.

I often fall into my dreams too during a WILD, and it's kind of hard to tell if you are dreaming or projecting. A dream is often associated with vivid imagery before the transition into the dream, but that isn't always the case, as you can enter a dream from total blackness. For an OBE it's the opposite, as it is usually preceded by blackness instead of imagery, at least in my experience. But during an OBE, unlike a normal dream, it feels like you are moving around in your immediate area, at or around the place where you feel asleep.

I usually get headaches too, and they are really painful. I usually try to disperse or eliminate the pain, normally unsuccessfully, but it can be 'ignored' in a sense.

By projecting, do you mean an OBE or astral projection?

I was under the impression that OBE and astral projection were pretty synonymous. I've been really patient on trying to attain an OBE or AP, and I've trying to practice the whole energy movement to increase my chances but it seems pretty difficult to actually have an OBE. Now that you mention OBE (real-time projection?) is different from astral projection (astral plane?) do you have any tips on how to reach on over the other?

They are the same and your voice sounding strange or scary is also normal. To me this sounds like a dream though!

They are typically not the same. An OBE is normally just a feeling you get that can be controlled during SP, but it can be sort of a "blind" astral projection. Astral projection is the projection of yourself onto a higher plane of existence (astral projection) where other beings (astal beings) apparently exist, and you can see and maneuver in a exact copy of the physical plane, except in your astral body. I've never astrally projected, nor do I have an extensive knowledge on how to do it, but I have accidentally had an OBE about four times during sleep paralysis, all controlled and awesome, caused by my failure in transitioning into a dream properly.
