What is astral projecting?

Hi there guys!

I am brand new here (I made an account a little while ago, but never revisited it until now), so I apologize if this question is categorized incorrectly, but if someone could give me a basic overview of astral projecting or point me in the direction of one, I would really appreciate it. I've tried to look stuff up, but there is so much conflicting/vague information it's hard to get a clear idea.

Wiki Definition:

"Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of an "astral body" separate from the physical body and capable of traveling outside it.[1] Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the astral plane."

When you astral project there is no lapse in consciousness. Unlike non lucid dreams leading up to lucidity you have immediate waking awareness very similar to your physical one but seperate from your body , this allows you to transcend time and space consciously making your imagination the only limitation. hope this helps. namaste

Astral projection has also been described to have a different 'feel' to it. You may perhaps experience a sluggishness in moving, or move by thought instead of moving your actual limbs. You'll also be able to see your body you have exited from, and normally feel a 'tugging' back towards your body - which fades with distance.

I'm currently still learning how to project though, and I'll be sure to give better details when I know!

I have also been looking for information about APs but no one seemed to know of a post that detailed most of the information about it. Is there like a tutorial introductive post somewhere in Beyond Dreaming that gives a bit of an idea as to how to do it?
