      Dream club (???)

Soon after waking I remembered a dream which got me thinking about opening a sort of dream club. There is a community center pretty close with free clubs so I will ask about sticking an ad on the notice board inviting folk to be here at a certain time to talk about a dream they want to share.

I know that maybe no one will turn-up but if someone does what do I do next?

      Sounds like a good idea.

I would imagine, you can meet in a cafe and just informally talk about your experiences. Good luck.

      Yeah Gab

I've been giving it a lot of thought since I posted. Just before this phone went "ding" to let me know your reply had just droped into this phone I was daydreaming.

In my daydream I was, first, at the community center. I had put up a notice which read:

I am interested in dreams so I opening a Dreamers Club. It will be a place where you can talk about your dreams. I will be here at the community cernter daily at x-O-clock for two jours. There is no cost.

Then I imagined some people turned-up. I took meeting minutes in a very informal way so I could type them up later and post them to them. I asked if I could take a group photo of them too and I got their postal addresses.

I gave them each a stamped addressed envelope so they could post their next remembered dream to me. We could keep in contact by mail and meet at the community center when it was convenient for them.

In the envelope was a form based on the pdc dream competition form. It is brief instructions on how to remember and record a remembered dream.

They could then post it to me.

Just before my phone went "ding" with your reply, Gab, I was worrying about them having my address and imagined one of them turning up. And me greeting them and letting them know that the guests at Chipps Boarding House are not allowed visitors. I then take them to the Cafe a few doors up or to the 24/7 BP with it's coffee shop and Subway eatery around the block. Where we could talk one-on-one.

Then my phone went "ding" and you, Gab, wrote:

      Telepathy?

I share your reluctance of giving them your address. I would maybe leave my phone number on the bulletin board and arrange a meeting in a safe, public place, like cafe. I would not bother taking minutes, but that's just me. I would make it just really informal, friendly get-together talking about dreams. You don't mention, if you meant lucid dreams, or regular dreams. Once you get to know them, I guess, you can recommend DV. But I understand, that talking face-to-face is much better. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

wana asked “how do you do dream incubation ?”

      Hi Gab

Yesterday I walked to The Adelaide South Eastern Community Centre and discovered that it will open again in 16 days. Today I decided to use a transcript of Bobbie Ann’s Free lesson called “Remembering Dreams” as the ice-breaker when I talk one-on-one to someone about my desire to open a Dream Club.

Ha! As I logged-in here at dream views I saw, at the top of the list a thread started by “Wana” titled “how do you do dream incubation” ha. This is Bobbie Pimm’s first lesson and it is the very first dream incubation a total Newbie to dreams would use.

Here is the link to wana’s thread here on dream views

      http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/how-do...bation-126188/

Here is Bobbie Ann Pimm’s dream incubation lesson.

      Free lesson:

      Dream Facts

Hello my name is Bobbie Ann Pimm. Today I’m sharing some tips and techniques on remembering dreams. First let’s go over some facts about dreams.

Everyone dreams, every night – even if you don’t remember dreaming. You have on average 4-6 dreams every single night. On average you dream about 100 minutes every night

Contrary to popular belief not all dreams occur during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep

Dreams during REM are usually image based

Dreams during non-REM are more thought based.

Now that we know that you do dream every night let’s see what you can do to remember your dreams so you can get the most from them.

      Before You Go to Bed

Leave a pen and paper (or dream journal) by your bed

Turn off the light, clear your mind for a few minutes and

      Repeat to yourself:

“I want to remember my dreams tonight”
“I will remember my dreams tonight”
      “I remember my dreams”

Or, use what ever words you want to set the intention to remember your dreams.

When You FIRST wake up in the morning

      This is very, very important

Lie completely still with your eyes closed (This is perhaps the most important step in the process) If you’ve already moved and remembered that you were supposed to lie still go immediately back into your last position and lie completely still

      Ask your self:

What was going through your mind just before you realised you were awake?

      What were you feeling?

At first there may only be bits and pieces. Grasp on to these little bits and try to expand on them – ask yourself questions related to what you last remember, for instance:

What were you doing before that?
      How did you get there?
      Where did that come from?
What colour was that? And so on.

When you are sure you remember all that you can, go over it in your mind one more time before you move.

When you’re ready, pick up your pen and start writing – Always in the Present Tense

Jot down all that you can remember

Start with “key” words – significant, descriptive memorable words (don’t censor, just write). It is very important to always write your dreams in the present tense.

Reviewing the “key” words later will jog more memories

Jot down everything that comes to mind

Don’t censor. Just WRITE – in the present tense

If you don’t remember anything just write “I don’t remember anything but I will tomorrow. I want to remember my dreams because … “ and just write what comes to your mind for a few minutes. The idea is to get into the habit or doing this every morning.

      Don’t Wait!

The key is to do it IMMEDIATELY upon waking

Don’t wait until after you go to the bathroom or put the kettle on.

Jot down the people, places, things, actions

The way you felt physically and emotionally in the dream and upon wakening.

Once you have the key words, you can go back and fill in the details

If an image is fuzzy or you’re not sure it was what you think it was, write it down and put a question mark next to it

      Dreams are Puzzles

If you have the basic puzzle pieces, the details will come back to you. You must have the pieces to complete the puzzle

      Pieces to the Puzzle

The symbols are the pieces to the puzzle
The imagery is the key to identifying symbols

Think of an image of you sitting under a tree

The TREE is a symbol in that it means something to you
The GRASS is a symbol – if it means something to you
The act of SITTING can be a symbol
The image in it’s entirety (you sitting under a tree) can be a symbol – is there something else that comes to mind when you see this image?

      Remembering Dreams

If you follow these steps faithfully, you will begin to remember your dreams.

      Don’t give up!

If you’ve spent your whole life ignoring your dreams, it may take some time to convince your subconscious that you want to remember them

If you continue to awake without remembering a dream, you are probably waking in a Non-REM stage of sleep

      So

Set you alarm clock 15 – 30 minutes earlier than usual to catch your last REM period. You are more likely to remember a dream if you wake from REM

Again, it may take some time, but if you set an intention and follow through faithfully every day, you will begin to remember your dreams

You get out of your dreams what you put into them

Your subconscious will get the message that you want to listen to and learn from your dreams

      Suggestions

Put a flashlight by your bed to use in the middle of the night – turning on a brigtht light will wake you (and your partener) up too much

When you wake up in the middle of the night remembering a dream – at the very least you must jot down the important key words – significant, meaningful words that will help you rememvber the dream in the morning

Consider getting a voice-activated digital recorder to record your dreams – ALWAYS in the present tense

You can transcribe the dreams by hand later

Dragon Naturally Speaking can take your digital voice recording file and transcribe it into editable text

Don’t wait to turn your PC to record your dreams – do them by hand or record them and transcribe them later

      HAPPY DREAMING

I plan to talk to someone one-on-one over a cuppa first then befor we say "cherio" I will give them an envelope with my address and a stamp on it. The above instructions will be in the open envelope and will encourage the person to send me a remembered dream by post.

Then I will send them a recently remembered dream and we will go on from there.

Maybe by the next (2 week on-line) Psi Dreaming Conference, in October 2012, I will have 50 people to invite and maybe by then we will have had a fair bit of practice at Telepathy dreaming, Remote Viewing dreaming and Mutual dreaming.

      Also

Wana's signature reminded me of something important I will do another post and explain that.

Pray now for those you will meet tomorrow

      I’m back, Gab

Wana posted at Today 08:23 PM

      Here is the post:

how do you do dream incubation

i have tried but only got side effect dreams just by placing the intent at night

And here is Wana’s significant (to me) signature:

“believe on the lord jesus christ and thou shalt be saved”

      Gab

When I was 18 I belonged to a very amazing church. It went from 25 in the paster’s living form to 2,000 in a big industrial warehouse in 4 years. The Sunday school had 300 children and 60 Sunday school teachers mostly from the Youth group that also did streetwork every Friday night in Brisbane city and did shifts at 2 of the churches own youth shelters for homless street kids.

I wanted to train at it’s Mountain camplike (live in) bible colledge but couldn’t. I was friends of other’s that did manage to attend. I would ask them about what they were learning out there and one day I learned this:

A pastor told the students to begin praying for those (in the distant futur) whome they would be pastoring. He pointed out that many of those who you will be pastoring are not christions yet. And if you want to run a big vibrant Sunday School many of those children are’nt even born yet. He showed in the bible where this is encouraged and taught that they should pray every day for these people that would be theirs to pastor some day.

      Well Gab

I think I might start praying for the wellfare of those who will be in the Dream Club. I have 16 days to pray before I begin talking to folk at the Community Centre.

      Thank you Wana!

      Thank you DreamBliss

Last night I got a pm from DreamBliss. He mentioned the teachings of someone, so, I Googled and searched YouTube for the one DreamBliss recomended.

Between chores today I listened to this guy speaking. He seemed to summerise what my life path revealed and then some. Later I listened to the 3 Youtubes again but not just listened I watch on my phone. This monk was in a common brown robe. Those with him wore the same common brown robe. The only other colours were the blue and orange of my avatar.

I need help with my emotions if I am to begin a local dream club.
On Saturday the first of march 2008 I woke from a dream that brought me to the online dream community. In the dream was a monk in a common brown robe. In the dream I felt happy and very priveliged to be enrolled in this monk's school. I think that this monk in his common looking, (workers) brown robe is a big synchronicity to that original dream.

      Thank you DreamBliss

I'm at home on my phone but tomorrow I will be at Netzone Internet Cafe and will expand on why this guy is so important to me and my desire to build a local dream club.

      Part 1 or 3 Nhat Hanh (8/14/2011)

      Open Mind Open Heart

(00:58) Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. (…)

We shall begin with chanting. (…) This is not exactly a prayer it is a practice of meditation. Avalokiteśvara, (the buddha of compassion) is a person who has the capacity to Listen to his own suffering inside. And because of that practice he could understand the nature, the roots of that suffering inside of him. And from that understanding Compassion arise, arises, and he got the healing and transformation. After that he was able to look at people around him and recognise the suffering in everyone. And he was able to understand very quickly, inside of each person. And he practiced listening to the suffering of these people and help them suffer less and Transform.

(2:55) So the monastics are going to chant the name of Avalokiteśvara. And while chanting they try to touch the sufering inside of them. Because inside of everyone of us there is suffering. And the suffering of us reflect the suffering of the world also.

Many of us do not want to go home to ourselves and get in touch with the suffering inside. We are afraid of being overwhelmed by the pain, the sorrow, the despair and the anger, inside. Instead we try to run away from the sufering by the way of consuming. Comsume television, magazines, musics, food, with the hope that we can cover-up the suffering inside and that does not help very much because that suffering is there.

And it will continue to grow. And it always tries to manifest especially during the night.

My avatar colours Orange and blue

(4:00) So, (?) commanded by the Buddha is not to run away from suffering. Instead you had to work on yourself and get in touch with it. Try to hold it dearly and listen deeply so you can understand it.

      Zen Master in Brown Robe

Understanding suffering will show you the way of Transformation and Healing.

(4:40) The first Noble truth is: Your being, suffering. And if you look deeply into that first Noble Truth you’ll see the other three Truths including the Truth of the path leading to the cessation and transformation of it. If you try to run away from the first Noble Truth there’s no way that you can see the fourth one. The one that can lead to transformation and healing.

      Heart and Base

When the monastic’s chant for the first time, the name of Avalokiteśvara, they turn inside of them and touch the suffering inside.

When they chant it for the second time, they recognise the suffering of those around them.

And when they chant it for the third time, they become aware of the suffering in the World.

      violin

And by chanting with mindfulness like that they produce together the energy of mindfulness, concentration and compassion. The energy of mindfulness touching suffering can help the energy of Compassion to arise. And Compassion is a kind of energy that can be very healing and transforming. And if you know how to allow the collective energy of mindfulness and peace to penetrate into our body and then, you will suffer less. You can release the tension and pain in our body and you can also release the tension and suffering in our heart.

      guitar and drum

There is tension and pain in our body. If we know how to follow our in-breath and out-breath, and allow ourself to be fully present in the here, the now and relax, the collective energy of mindfulness and peace generated by the chanting will be able to penetrate into our body and help release the tension and reduce the pain and we’ll feel better after a few minutes of listening.

And if we have any pain or sorrow or despair in our heart we may like to open our heart so that the collective energy of the sangha* can penetrate and help hold the block of pain and sorrow in us. “Here is my pain, here is my despair, please, asangha* recognize and hold it for me”. And if you know how to open ourselves and allow the collective energy of mindfulness and peace and compassion to embrace our pain and sorrow, we will suffer less after a few minutes of listening. This a practice, not a prayer.

      (8:00)

And if we have someone in the family who is sick who suffers now and couldn’t come this afternoon then, very well send this collective energy to him or to her just by calling him or her name silently. Think of that person and this wholesome energy of peace and compassion will be channeled to that person right away and at home he or she will feel better.

So let us join in the practice.

Allow ourself to be relaxed and allow the collective energy of the sangha* to penetrate into our body and our mind our heart:

(8:44) it begins and goes till 24:04.

(* Traditionally, in Buddhism Sangha almost always has one of two meanings: most commonly, Sangha means the monastic Sangha of ordained Buddhist monks or nuns. In a stricter sense, Sangha can mean the assembly of all beings possessing some high degree of realization)

      (2:36) Dear friends

In Buddhism we speak of a kind of a body called a Dharma body. Everyone who is human we need spiritual dimension. Without a spiritual dimension it’s difficult for us to confront and solve the difficulties that present themselves in our daily life.

You have your physical body, and you should have your Dharma body. Your Dharma body is your Spiritual Practice. In the Buddhist Tradition if you have a good practice you are no longer afraid because you know how to deal with the difficulties that present themselves everyday.

A good Buddhist practitioner should be able to handle a feeling of pain, a feeling of despair.

A good practitioner should be able to handle a strong emotion like fear, anger, hate.

A good practitioner should be able to generate a feeling of joy and happiness whenever she wants to.

A good practitioner should be able to use the practiced of Deep Listening, compassionate listening and gentle speech in order to restore communication and reconcile.

All these things are commanded by the Buddha

Dharma body is our practice, our body of practice.

Dharma body is our practice, our body of practice.
      (5:00)

And if you have a Solid Dharma body a solid practice and then where ever you go we are no longer afraid. You can meet situation with calm and peace and confidence.

When you come to a ten day retreat, 5 days of 7 days that’s what you want to learn. You want to have a practice so you can handle difficulties in our life. And during that time we practice together with asangha and it change our understanding experiences with the members of the community of practice.

The expression Dharma Kia, Dharma Body, later on has a different meaning. In Mayahana Buddhism it means the wonders of life. In Buddhism we do not speak about God and the Kingdom of God but we do speak about Dharma Kia. And the blue sky and the beautiful river, the mountain, the flowers are all expression of the Dharma Kia.

And many Zen Masters have written about the beauty, about the wonders of life as expressions of the Dharma Kia.

When you contemplate a flower like the one in front of us, if you have enough mindfullness and concentration, you can get in-touch deeply with the flower and we can recognize that the flower belong to the realm of the Dharma Kia.

In the Christian Tradition you can say that the flower belong to the Kingdom of God. It is a wonder.

With the Buddhist practice you get the energy of mindfulness and concentration that allowed us to get in touch deeply with the flower. That wonder of life that is there. And as you know that it belongs to the Kingdom of God you know you are capable of touching the Kindgom of God in the here and the now. You are capable to touch the Pure Land of the Buddha in the here and the now.

With the practice of mindfullness and concentration the Kingdom of God or the Pure Land of the Buddha is available in the here and the now.

With the practice of mindfullness and concentration the Kingdom of God or the Pure Land of the Buddha is available in the here and the now.

      (8:23)

There’s a French writer whose name is (?) he said that God is Happiness. Many of us are used to describing God in terms of Love. God is Love but (?) liked to describe God as Happiness.

This is a very original and beautiful way of talking about God. If we are humans God is available 24 hours a day. It means Happiness is possible at any time if you know how to get in touch with it, if you know how to get in touch with God and the Kingdom of God.

The same thing is true with the Dharma Kia. With mindfulness and concentration you can be in touch with the wonders of life, as expressed in the violet (?) trees and the yellow chrysanthemums. If God is available 24 hours a day then His Kingdom should be available 24 hours a day also.

And how to get in touch with the Kingdom? In the light of Buddhist practice that is not difficult.

      (10:00)

If you breath-in mindfully and be aware of your in-breath, you bring your mind home to your body.

And when your mind is with your body you are truly there in the here and the now. And then, especially in the here and the now, you can get in touch with that flower, that chrysanthemum.

That beautiful full moon, which belong to the Pure Land of the Buddha, which belong to the Kingdom of God.

In our daily life very often our body is there but our mind is elsewhere. We are caught in the sorrow, in the regret concerning the past. Or we are caught in the fear, the uncertainty concerning the future.

We are caught in our (?), our fear, our anger. Our mind is not there (11:11) with our body. We are not truly there.

The practice of mindful (?) recommended by the Buddha help us to bring our mind home to our body. And when our mind is with our body, we are back in the here and the now, fully present, fully alive. And you can get in touch with the wonders of life that are available in the here and the now.

The Buddha say’s the past is always gone, and the future is not yet. There is only one moment when you can meet with your life and that’s the present moment and the present moment has all the wonders of life in it. So the basic practice recommended by the Buddha is to go home to the present moment. And that can be done with just one in-breath or one-step made in mindfulness.

The practice of mindful breathing, (12:22) the practice of mindful walking are not too difficult and they allow us to go home to the here and now in order to live deeply every moment given to us to live.

When you breath-in mindfully, breath-out mindfully, when you walk mindfully, (12:44) every step you generate the energy of mindfulness.

Mindfulness is a certain kind of energy that allow us to know what is happening, in the present moment. And mindfulness is always mindfulness of something. When you breath-in mindfully, and that is mindfulness of breathing. When you drink your tea mindfully, that is mindfulness of drinking. When you walk mindfully, that is mindfulness of walking.

And when you do things mindfully you’re always in the here and now and we are living deeply every moment of our little life.

And that is the basic purpose, practice, recommended by the Buddha.

And that is the basic purpose, practice, recommended by the Buddha.

      13:33

In The Sutra of Mindful Breathing the Buddha proposes sixteen exercises.

And the first four help us to take care of our body

The 1st exercise is very simple:

Breath-in and know, this is my in-breath.

      Breathing-out, I know, this is my out-breath.

You are aware that in-breath is going on. You are aware that out-breath is going on. The exercise is very simple. You focus your attention on your in-breath and your out-breath. And because of that you release the past, you release the future. And you come home to the present moment.

      (14:33)

      It’s like a miracle.

It takes only a few seconds for us to get free from the sorrow and the regret concerning the past

      (14:44)

and fear and uncertainty concerning the future.

Freedom is what you get when you breath-in mindfully or make a mindful step.

      And

The 2nd exercise of mindful breathing is to follow your in-breath all the way through. Breathing-in, “I am aware of my in-breath from the beginning to the end”. Breathing-out "I follow my out-breath from the beginning to the end”. It means you are fully concentrated on you in-breath and your out-breath and release everything else.

And by practicing the second exercise like that you cultivate more concentration. And mindfulness and concentration always bring insight. And insight has the power to liberate, to set you free.

And insight enlightenment is not something very far away. You can got-it in a few seconds also.

And by practicing the second exercise like that you cultivate more concentration. And mindfulness and concentration always bring insight. And insight has the power to liberate, to set you free. And insight enlightenment is not something very far away. You can got-it in a few seconds also.

      15:55

Suppose you breath-in mindfully and while breathing-in mindfully you know this, that you are there, alive.

***Dear reader the next bit is just a distraction to the last powerful statement just made by the Master, (for the benefit of those not yet ready)***
      (16:11)

***Because a person who is already dead does not breath-in anymore.*** (murmurs from the audience) And because you are breathing-in and you are aware that you are breathing-in you know that you are alive and to be alive is a miracle.

You just breath-in and you touch the miracle of being alive. And when you breath-out you have the time to celebrate the fact that you are alive. And to know that you are alive is only an insight and that is brought to you by the mindfulness of breathing. And you can enjoy your in-breath and out-breath.

Breathing-in you don’t have to make any effort. You don’t have to struggle to find your in-breath. You just allow yourself to breathe normally. You just pay attention to your in-breath.

And those of us that practice mindful breathing we feel wonderful breathing-in. We enjoy breathing-in and breathing-out whether we are in a sitting position or in a lying position or in walking meditation, breathing-in and out, mindfully can bring a lot of joy. This is pleasant.

And if you are you are breathing in and suffer, breathing-out you suffer, well, you know that your practice is not correct. Life is already full of suffering why do you have to suffer more by practicing Buddhism? (laughter from audience)

So sitting should be pleasant. Walking should be pleasant. Breathing should be pleasant. And that is why the Buddha said the Dharma is lovely in the beginning in the middle and at the end.

The Dharma can bring joy and peace and happiness right away you don’t have to wait

      (18:28)

The 3rd exercise of mindfull breathing is:

To become aware of our body

(18:30) in the 4th exercise of mindfull breathing is to become aware of our body. Breathing-in, “I am aware of my whole body”. That is to bring the mind home to the body, for the mind to reconcile with the body. And when you are back to your body you might notice that there is a lot of tension and pain in your body. You have a lot of tension accumulated into our body. We have worked our body to hard.

We have not treated our body with tenderness and compassion.

And the tension in our body is the foundation for all kinds of sickness. That is why with the 4th exercise of mindful breathing, the Buddha recommend that we release the tension in the body. Breathing-in I release the tension in my body in a sitting position like this

or in a lying position you can always allow the tension to be released by breathing-in mindfully, breathing-out mindfully. And a good practitioner should be able to do that, to make use of these exercises in order to take care of her body.

Sitting on a bus you might like to practice mindful breathing and release the tension and enjoy what is happening in the present moment.

      (20:27 to 25:00)

      (20:27 to 25:00)

The 5th exercise of mindful breathing is, a practitioner can recognise a feeling of joy. She can generate a feeling of joy.

And with the 6th exercise he can generate a feeling of happiness.

According to the Buddhist teaching a practitioner should be able to generate a feeling of joy or a feeling of happiness whenever she wants. And how? The teaching of the Buddha is very clear. You use the techniques of mindfulness and concentration and release, in order to bring joy and happiness.

When you breathe-in mindfully you bring your mind home to your body and you integrate yourself in the here and the now. And because of that you recognize that there are so many conditions of happiness that are already available in the here and now.

      (21:54)

Suppose we tried an exercise of breathing-in and becoming aware of our eyes. Breathing-in, “I am aware of my eyes”.

I use the energy of mindfullnes to recognize the existence of our eyes. Breathing-in I’m aware of my eyes. Breathing-out I smile to my eyes. And when you breathe-in mindfully and become aware of your eyes you might get insight that your eyes are still in good condition.

It’s wonderful to still have eyes in good condition. The paradise of forms and colours is available to you, that’s because you still have eyes in good condition. You only need to open your eyes in order to enjoy that paradise of forms and colours.

      (23:00)

And having good eyes is one condition of happiness that you do have.

And you might like to continue breathing-in and aware of my heart. Breathing-out I smile to my heart.

And this is commanded by the Buddha in The Sutra on The Contemplation of the Body in The Body.

The Buddha says, suppose there is a farmer who goes to the seller and bring down a bag of seeds. And he open one end of the bag and allowed all the seeds to flow from back to forth on the floor. And with eyes being in good condition here recognised every kind of seed that flow on the floor. He see the seed of kidney bean, he see the seed of corn, He see the seed of mung beans, etcetera.

      So

The practitioner does the same thing.

Using mindful breathing he can recognise his eyes

      (24:18) eyes

      And smile to his eyes.

And goes down and recognise nose, tongue, lungs, heart

      (24:27) heart

      Kidney,

      (24:29) Kidney

      Liver,

It’s like scanning the body with the energy of mindfulness. In hospitals we have scanner using x-ray. But in the Buddhist practice we use the ray of mindfulness to scan our body. To visit all parts of our body and to smile to it and to help to relieve the tension and that help to heal.

      Me a Busker (???)

      Busker "Me".

Dear Waking Nomad, DreamBliss and Gab

Today I can bearly walk and cried a bit but then I got a flood of ideas. I *reveried* (daydreamed) and in my daydream I plugged my Inernet mobile phone into this very small mobile-phone-speaker, opened the bookmark to the Youtube "If I Had words".

***If I had words to make a day for you.

I'd sing you a morning Golden and New.

I would make this day last for All time.

Give you a night deep in Moon shine***

I was in the city mall where the buskers busk.

      I wore a waistcoat-sandwich-board with

***"Remember Your Dreams" on the front and back.***

I let the Youtube play and any one who looked curious I gave them an envelope with my address on it and Bobbie Ann's instructions on "how to remember dreams" in it.

I am pretty excited about trying that out cos even if I cant walk much I can still start handing out my 250 envelopes and hopfully build my corrospondent dream group soon.

It is thanks to you sharing about "being spontanious and silly" that is giving me the ideas and courage to get-the-word-out about remembering and recording dreams Waking Nomad.

On a chilly Tuesday night in the northern suburbs of Hobart, 80 guests checked-in to the Riverfront Motel, an authentic 50s style motel set on sprawling grounds that look over the Museum of Old and New Art.

      This was no ordinary night.

The guests had registered to be part of a*Motel Dreaming, a unique motel experience designed by a group called the Unconscious Collective.

They took over the Motel and subtlety transformed it using light, sound and video and a series of unusual performances into what they hoped would become a large scale dream-incubator.

There were also a number of late night excursions planned for the guests, one to MONA Museum in Hot Rods from a local car club and another to a haunted house on the motel’s ground.

The Unconscious Collective’s goal is to harness, document and share the collective dreams of the motel’s guests over a 24 hour period.

      (...)

Tonight the NO vacancy sign is on, and the motel’s guests are determined to get some sleep and to dream. But will the bold dream experiment work?*

Whatever the results, in an age where experts say that artificial light from phones and tablets is causing sleep disorders, it’s comforting that 80 complete strangers are willing to come together under one roof to engage their unconscious minds and share their dreams.*

Motel Dreaming, Tuesday June 17 - Wednesday June 18, 2014. Riverfront Motel and Villas, Rosetta Tasmania. Dark Mofo runs June 12 -22.
