very interesting wow... and seeing that everyone mentions this guy called castaneda, who is he?

Who is he?

And what do you mean by death itself?

I think its just more than likely shadows and your brain trys to interpret this and makes you think it is the shadow of a person.

I have been wondering about this canstenada guy as well...guess I'll google him.

I'm telling you it's not, I asked my friend today and he said he saw one with eyes (white). Now I googled this and most people who see the eyes see them white. I'm just saying that its to much of a coicidense (srry I am awful at spelling).

It's kind of like ghost everyone sees them almost the same.

Castaneda is Carlos Castaneda. A guy who wrote some very interesting books during the previous century A must read for people who are interested in dreaming and "magic". He says he was taught by an american indian magician.

By Death itself i mean the Death. The one coming to get you in the end of your journey called life. He says you can see your death by looking to your left really fast but only for a short time. And that death is coming through the area where your belly is. Also he says death is your best friend cos is giving you the appreciation of life and teaches you to live well.

yea thats a good theory, it might be the people doing OBEs and spirits out there...
i know guy who has met his dead relatives through OBE (might be something like that)

I don't see them any more, but I saw them a few times when I was three. I also had dreams about them. But I had never heard of them, and people thought I was joking when I talked about them. A few times when I was three, I saw what looked like the silhouette of the Pink Panther walking down the hall while swinging a sledge hammer. The image would last about a second and vanish. In my dreams around that time, I would see multiple shadow people, and the images would last. One of them even talked to me in an alien language. It told me that it was powerful, but I got the impression that it wasn't malicious, at least not toward me at that moment. Some of them looked like shadows with mailbox heads. The dreams were probably based on what I saw in waking life, and what I saw in waking life I think were just minor hallucinations resulting from my hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). I saw those figures again when I was 19 and 20, and I'm pretty sure they were just quick images that were hypoglycemia related. Two of the times, I had been on massive amounts of pain killers for days straight after getting my wisdom teeth taken out. I treat my hypoglycemia really well now (aside from my damn pot habit) and don't see shadow people any more.

It really tripped me out when I heard somebody talking about them on Art Bell a few years ago. That was the first time in my life I had come across the fact that other people had seen these things. That was some bizarre news to find out.

k k getting freaked out now, i cant put this into my subconscious not that it already has but, some ppl get freaked and dont want to sleep nomore lol,,but yes it disturbs me abit though...

Wow your topic's title dredged up a VERY VERY old memory from my youth I had almost forgotten.

As a child I ALWAYS saw these shadowy figures. I still do in the corners of my eyesight. But back in my youth they weren't so fast. I would see them creep up on me and watch me from the hallway behind the half-opened door and the would run away when I looked at them, but too late so I could clearly make up contours of a human-figure. At first I was frightened by them and asked my mom to protect me from them, but later I grew accustomed by their presence and didn't fear them anymore.

It's decreased after my youth but lately I've become more aware again of "such matters" and I do see them, but only as quick movement of dark shapes in my peripheral vision. But in my youth these figures, allthough to some extend "illusion-like", were indeniably realistic and in my youth I could percieve them by looking straight at them from a room across the hall and see them creep up closer and closer to the door untill eventually one grabbed the side of the door with his dark hand.

Alot of "scientists" would probably reason this out of the window with Imagination or sleep deprivation induced hallucinations: But even if they were hallucinations that is NO reason NOT to take them seriously and label them als "Illusion" "Fantasy" and "Not Real". Anything that can be percieved, in whatever way, is REAL.


And Carlos Castaneda is an amazing man. I'm going to be looking for his books; especially The Art of Dreaming of course.

couple weeks ago when i was minigolfing, i turned to right very quickly and i saw this guy with bright yellow shirt and there was silver flames coming from behind him?? and right after that the ball just kind of flew over the hole??? i was bit freaked out for the rest of the day

I saw these a couple of times a year or so ago. I actually made a thread on it myself I think, but I don't know where it is now, might've been on a different site.

It was when my brother was still living with me and my parents. I'd go up the stairs and it'd be dark and I usually kinda run up the stairs, and I'd get to the top and see this shadowy figure and actually say "Oops sorry!" because I was convinced I was about to bump into my brother coming out of his room, but no one was there. Think it only happened two or three times, doesn't seem to happen anymore, it was strange. I told my friends at school and they all laughed at me lol, guess it does sound kinda weird until you actually experience it.

My mom saw one once and she thought it was me running up the stairs, and she even chased it. Then once she found out I was sleeping. She started to freak out. he he

Personally when I was a kid and woke up in the middle of the night even if I had to go to the bathroom I wouldn't, because I was afriad I would see one. I'd just go back to sleep and that's how I learn to lucid dream, because I would wake every 15 minitues because I had to go.

Something interesting is that there is a very common theme of the shadow people running away when spotted. The last one I saw when I was 19 (after days on pain pills) lasted about a second or two and stepped down off a porch to hide behind a bush when I saw it.

Has anybody else seen any mailbox shaped heads on them? Imagine the shadow of a mailbox on a pole and having arms and legs. I think some of them might have been just like that except with megaphone shaped heads. Does that ring a bell for anybody?

A show I saw as a kid was about a shadow man that lived under a kid's bed. He'd see it come out at night, then would read about murders the next morning in the paper. Eventually he asks the shadow man why he doesnt hurt him, and it says it can't hurt the person who's bed it lives under.

So the kid dares the school bully to meet him in the park at night where the murders were taking place. THey meet and the shadow man shows up, scaring away the bully.

As the kid is sitting there laughing, the shadow man grabs him by the throat, and begins to choke him. The kid asks "But I thought you couldn't hurt the person who's bed you lived under.

And the shadow man replies "I'm the Shadow Man from under someone else's bed."

There was an intresting thread about this a while ago. I have no doubt I'm about to start seeing shadow people everwhere now!

I see those shadows regulary during day time, From the beginning i got frightened, but after i was taught during my oobe experiences that those could be spirits from a plane like ours , or aliens who use a magnetic pulse unkwon to our eyes etc...

All this aliens and shadowpeople talk is annoying me, i'd think of them more as hallucinations, i mean you know how realy halluinations can feel and be and your imagination can create images and represent them, our perception can deceive us at times, its just a creation of the mind.

Scare coincidince this is indeed.
I had this really scary experience last night. It really freaked me out and still does!

I woke up in the middle of the night because I felt like being stared at. That's at least what I felt when I actually woke up. I had my face lying towards my wall so I turned around and I saw this figure standing in front of my curtains of the window. It seemed to me as if it was just plain black, fitting the description of the so called shadow people. I really paniced but couldn't move or say anything at the same time. The shadow man just stood there doing nothing, but then again it seemed as if it moved, don't know how to describe this. After about 10 seconds it just disappeared and I lied there in my bed, frightened to death. I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night due to fear.

I have never heard about shadow people before, but I frequently see those silhouttes other people have already mentioned. Always thought that I've been hallucinating, so I didn't actually quite think about it much.

Now when I told a friend at school about what happened last night today, he told me that he does know this phenomenon 'shadow people' and told me to google it. So did I and I really can't believe how popular this seems to be.

Still I'm quite sceptical and I am strongly considering the event of last night to be some kind of wake-dreaming hallucination. This would be the only reasonable explanation I'd have but I might as well consider other testimonials of shadow people sightings in order to think that last night actually has been a real... thing.
