It depends on your efinition of ghosts. If you mean, spiritual entities that used to be humans, hwho keep their sentience and terrorize people who live in their house, then no, I don;t . However, I do believe in spirit-based entities that act like ghosts, echoes of psyche from years or centuries before, and beings in other realms that occasionally intersect with our own. I've experienced the last of the three, and possibly the second. The traditional "I iz in ur house, scarin ur kidz" ghost, I find can be explained as a pure-consciousness type being that may have become entangled (either intentionally, by coincidence, or because that's how they survive) with an echo-type ghost (basically, an imprint on reality from the past, or possibly sometimes future), either because they simply happen to be compatible with the "recordings," or because they feed on emotion or other forms of energy gathered as a side effect or s the main reason for haunting.

      I voted yes, personal experience.

But both of the times with my da, I didn't see a whole body apparition, but rather a shape, wispy to be honest, but with enough specifics to be sure it was him. He was 6'6 in life and had a mane of pure white hair(think the actor who played Jock Ewing on Dallas) and in both sightings, that was the things that were clear.

However my daughter sees both him and mom in full detail. She was 3 when he died but saw him , the night before mom broke her hip, watching over mom in bed. Then after mom/g-ma died, she saw her in full detail for quite a few days and still sees both of them occasionally.

      just my experiences.

      Ghosts.

Ghosts what a bunch of crap.

I have uploaded 17hz.zip extract it.

      1) Extract the .mp3
      2) Get a large speaker
      3) Disable DSP and Enhanced bass.
      4) Hang a large plastic sewer pipe infront of it.
      5) Play the .mp3

You will feel uneasy possible tightness of chest and you feel like there is a presence in the room.

      You saw a ghost?

ITS JUST YOUR MIND LOOKING FOR PATTERNS THE MORE YOU LOOK THE MORE ITS THERE. Its like a lucid dream it doesn't exist unless you pay attention to it.

Now get a projecter and project the picture of casper the little ghost onto a screen now on the other side of the room hang a sheet of glass. Now turn of the lights.
Tadaa you have a ghost in the room for real.

      My experience:
All theatres are "haunted." Once I was staying late helping organize some stuff. I was the only one in the theatre. This guy I know came and asked if I needed help. I said no. He left. I heard whistling. I thought it was that guy, so I walked towards the stage to tell him to stop because it's bad luck to whistle in a theater. He was on stage and he was looking up on the catwalk saying "Hey! what are you doing up there?" And he ran up to see who it was and no one was there. He asked if I heard someone running on the catwalk. I said no. I asked if he was whistling. He said no. It was weird, but I'm not freaked out by that kind of stuff so I went back to work.

I don't know if I've actually experienced them, may have just been a dream the biggest one. I jeep seeing movement or things in the corner of my eyes. I don't know if those are ghosts, eyes playing tricks, whatever. I'm fond of ghost stories, though, especially ones where the spirit stays to show you where they were buried or whatever.

There should have been a 'I neither believe in ghosts but discount the possibility of their existence' answer.

I don't see any reason why one should avoid belief in the unproven like the plague. There are probably countless things in this universe (and the infinite other parallel universes that may exist) whose existence we humans would scoff at. It's pretty sad that a lot of us think we know everything about the universe. After all we are, as Kansas put it, "Just a drop of water in an endless sea". [The word "impossible" should be wiped from the dictionary, in my opinion. Nothing's impossible because nothing can be proven to be impossible. "Improbable" is a far better word to use, anyway.]

ANYWAY, another reason I'm a believer in ghosts is because I've had experiences that can never be explained by raw logic (and trust me, I'm a person who thrives on logic).

"I neither believe in ghosts nor discount the possibility of their existence" probably would have worked best... sorry, that's just my inner language nerd coming out.

      Haunted type stuff

I always was haunted until this year. Its a strange story actually, but its a little long to fit in here. Anyways, yeah, I believe in ghosts, spirits, angels, and demons. I'm not sure what my spirit guide was, (angel, demon, lost/bored soul... whatever) but I always had her and then I met this person who had a powerful demon like thing following him and I guess he killed her or something like that. (that's the short story)

My friend's house was kinda haunted too. I spent the night at her house a few years ago, and in her basement we heard creepy sounding voices, saw little demon like things (they looked like those little minions you get on Warcraft when you're a Warlock...) but yeah. We heard and saw them. Sometimes we only saw their shadows and we would feel all weird like someone was watching you. Or just hear them laugh and it wasn't anyone else in the house because it was maniacle laughter and unfamilar.

      The End.

See, with things like that, I lay down the law.

The thing that most people forget is that your home is YOUR HOME. I've lived in the same house for 13 years, and that gives me say over what does and does not happen there. A spook moved in a couple weeks ago, and wanted to start banging around the house. Clomping around in the crawlspace, knocking in the bathroom, shuffling up and down the hallway.

To put it mildly, I don't tolerate that kind of crap.

      He stopped.

It is a spirit. He's still hanging about, and he's allowed to as long as he doesn't start the noisiness up again.

Yeah that makes sense now. Yeah me and my friend were like 12 when she lived in that house, now we're 19 so yeah. I just thought it was cool and let it keep happening because it was interesting looking for them sometimes. Other times you wouldn't expect it and they'd pop up out of nowhere. That was 7 years ago. Now She lives some where else and the little demon/spirit things are gone (or still in that house, I donno)

I don't think ghosts are people that have passed. That would be silly. When you're dead, you're dead. The ghosts we see are blips of the imagination, and nothing more. You can make others believe there's a ghost in the room, too. It's a good magic trick I use, but it gets annoying when they claim too much more than I expect (Ah! It was Uncle Albert! I knew it! Do it again! Call him again!). Ghosts, if they exist at all, are definitely not past entities. Perhaps what people call ghosts are actually the images of beings from a parallel universe? And those that see loved ones, are seeing people almost exactly the same as loved ones, but still alive in one of those parallel universes? I don't really think there's anything spiritual about ghosts, at any rate. I added that previous paragraph so as not to totally crush the esteem of those who "swear they saw it."

Yeah, I would tend to agree with you. I'm kind of still split down the middle. I mean, its possible, its possible there are some real ones, and LOTS of fakes. Its possible theres none. I also agree alot of people who claim to see one, may have not really.

On sci fi. They have ghost hunters. Is alot of that legit? Or is it fake, cause if it's fake I will never watch it again.

On a lot of ghost hunting shows, they will have some real ones but since it is very rare to find authentic spiritual activity, studios will make up some things and make a show out of it. I don't trust the shows 100%, but I do believe that some are real and that the creators of the shows are people, trying to make money, so when they run out of the real stuff, they tend to make things up. Like anyone else who would have that delemah.

Also, who knows if ghosts are dead people, or angels, or demons. Why don't we just tell a person to come haunt us and be nice about it when they are dead, then murder them just to test this theory? Anyone want to be my dead-person volunteer? Anyone?

I have had many experiences with spirits, whether they are spirits of dead people or demons- or some other non-human entity I am not sure, I suspect the latter. I have seen forms, one like the shape of a person, though no face or clothes could be seen, other times I've seen shadows out of the corner of my eyes, seen a bright light in my room, heard footsteps up the staircase in my house, had objects move by themselves etc.

It's something that has to be experienced to be believed.

i've been to places that are supposedly haunted and the only one i've been to so far that i'd even consider the possibility of ghosts/spirits is a house about.. 10 minutes from where i live, it's an old run down house, you go inside and it's been vandalized something terrible, there's an old piano with torn up bible pages all over it, spray paintings of names and "disturbing" drawings all over the place, upstairs there's some sort of blood smeared on a wall and blood all over a door

my friends took a video one night and they all swear on their lives, family, graves, god, etc. etc. that they didn't mess around with it or change it and on the video you have to turn it up as loud as you possible can and listen close and you can hear clearly "get out now" and it's some girl saying it, i think though one of them said it, as for pictures.. i've been there two or three times with them, they'll stand at a doorway to a room and take a picture of it then take one directly after the first one, sometimes both pictures are clear as day, sometimes the first picture is very clear then the second picture has orbs all in it, or sometimes the first picture has orbs all in it and the second doesn't, or sometimes both pictures have orbs. you could claim it's dust but the dust should of shown up in the first picture. so i don't really know
