      Details please!!!

Even better is if you wrote out your dream, and got your friend to write out his dream and post them both here.

it was kind of confusing because we couldnt figure out whos dream it was, mine or hers?
but im pretty sure it was mine, i was talking to a dream charater, then all of a sudden the charater got pixelated like when your digital cable messes up. then she asked me why i was talking to that charater and what were we talking about. then we started exsploring this strange house we were in, trying to find where the charater went. but when we woke up we descibed all the small details of the house to each other, what time the clock read, colors of walls, carpet. even the newspaper headline that was on a coffee table. i dont know if this had anything to do with the fact we were laying next to each other or what. ive been trying do it again but it hasnt happened yet.

Very interesting. I want to try to share a dream, but I haven't been able to try yet.

I've seen previous posts like this on DV where someone claims to have had a shared dream. There really isn't any way to prove it at this point. But I'd like to believe it.

I'm totally skeptical of this (heh heh), but I'd love to believe that it could work. I wish I knew somebody in person that was as interested in dreaming as I am so I could give it a shot.

Sean, do we ever organize group dreaming on this thread? I'm not sure how it would work with people you only know online...

well I'm not really skeptical about these things, only because I've had the same dream as my cousin before, although it wasn't really dream sharing because we weren't in the dream together. We just dreamt of the same thing.

I know, it's kind of weird stuff, but I think it's a bit strange how people say that they're open-minded enough to believe in lucid dreaming, but then they are too closed-minded to consider the possability of things like this.

(although that is not excluding myself. As I mentioned, if it weren't for me having the same dream as my cousin I might not fully believe it... but I might consider the possibility)

I dunno... just kind of weird

I can definitely consider, but I'm a girl of proof. Lucid dreaming has been proven through various dream studies at the Lucidity Institute. As far as I know, there's no way to actually prove that two people are in the same dream together. Now having the same dream I can believe, although that could easily be a coincidence such as you guys were hanging out that day and talking about the same thing or just happened to be thinking about something similar that produced the same dream. Although, again, there's no way to prove that. All we can go off is personal experience.

Yeah, I have pretty much the same beliefs as kaeraz. I don't think shared dreaming is possible but if there was some scientific study or something saying it is possible or might be possible I will open up to the idea.

you don't have to be open-minded to believe in lucid dreaming
and you don't have to be closed-minded not to believe in shared dreams

the thing is, lucid dreams are said to occur only in our minds. even if there wasn't a heap of research to back it up, this would make lucid dreaming seem logical
however, shared dreaming is a connection between two dreamers - this would suggest one of two things - their brains are connected/communicating in some way or that something supernatural is occuring. most people will rule out the supernatural, and as for brains sending and receiving signals of some sort, that practically impossible seeing as any type of radiation sent out by the brain would be drowned out by background radiation before it could be picked up by another brain...

that said, i'd love to believe in shared dreams, but until i have conclusive evidence, i won't be believing anything

I dont know, it was so random I'm not sure how it could have coincidentally happen (not saying it wasn't a coincidence, i just dont know in the world it worked out)

we both dreamed that a big floating balloon-like colorful blob-like monster was trying to kidnap us after taking us to mcdonalds for ice cream when we ran to hide in the bushes and just before he found us our parents drove by and we jumped in the car just in time to get away.

not sure what we could have been doing when hanging out to get that kind of dream into our minds. we didn't even go to mcdonalds

Weird! How did you two realize you had the same dream in the first place? Do you share dreams often?

Just to clarify, while I may not beleive in shared dreaming, I really hope it is possible. Then me and my freinds could have all sorts of crazy adventures and battles. But their either has to be a scientific breakthrough or I have to experiance one my self for me to beleive.

But back to the point. Are you sure you two had, and I can't stress this enough, the EXACT SAME DREAM. And if you did, can you reproduce it.

(but for the record, I really hope it can be done.)

You know I could see the future of online gaming move into online dreaming. Basically playing RP games through dreams with each other. That way theres no programming or space necessary. And you could be any character you wanted and have any powers you could dream of.

Personally I'd like to control my dreams and become some kind of old ass super hero I ustd to love as a kid....Like Tommy...DRAGONZORD! hahahaha...i'm totally not that weird.

indeed.. I do this alot.. the first time it happened i was 9, and me and my friend both had the same dream. And i realised it was a dream and told my friend and he was like.. Shit :S.. is this really happening. So we were having a debate weather i was a figment of his imagination and he was a figment of My imagination.. So we decided to wake up, Of course we couldnt, So one of us had to try and wake the other one up in the dream, then wake the other one up in reality.. It went sort of like this.

me: ok so ill hit u in the face and wake u up.. deal?

jake: no your not hitting me in the face, im gonna hit u..

Me: i dont think so.. now hold still..

jake: no get the hell away from me "lightning come's out of his hand"

me:.... Ahhhhh.. dont u dare hit me with that lightning bolt mr..

      Jake...

      "zzaapp!!"

Me:.. Oh my god, Jake wake up..

jake:.. no way?... Nooo way did that just happen...

      Me:....

It's quite a common thing for me..

      Well I don't know if I needed the running commentary....or did I? No...I didn't

Anyways quite entertaining still haha, and yeah I think I had a similar experience when I had the only lucid dream I've ever had so far when I was a kid. But I was never sure if the people were actually my friends or dream charaters.

I never thought to ask and now I don't remember any of their names or care...haha

Im also a skeptic of this. I saw a show about this

There are over 6 billion people in the planet and your chances of having a similar dream is quite big

Also, no one fully remembers their dream. You might remember the plot, begging, climax, and ending, but you don't remember all the details. By having a similar plot, and not having exact details will make the chances greater.

Dream is something that your brain does. I find it impossible for someone to be in a same dream.

Having a same dream might be possible but being in a dream together sounds too unrealistic.

Hey man, you never know. Their is still so much we don't understand about the human mind, and while it is unlikely, it's not necacerily impossible. But, I really do want to get into a dream with my freind and zap him. That would be the coolest.

      It's happened to me before.
      here's the story.
my friends girlfriends dad was gay.(mouthfull)
in the dream I was in school with him, and the bell rang and we went in the halls.
I told him "did you know ****'s dad was gay?"(starred out name for privacy).
he was like "no way!" and then I woke up.
there was alot more to that dream, but i'm too lazy to type it out.
the next day he asked me if I was going to tell him that, and I said yea.
we then explained the same dream perfectly.
also, he had no clue his girlfriends dad was gay. she didn't tell anyone but her friend, who happened to be my very good friend, who told me.

We would have to have video of each other so we could "get to know" each other and our mannerisms and voice. I've had dreams with celebrities in them. When I watch them on TV I feel like I know them. When they are in my dreams they know me also. We are "comrads". Then we would have to organize a meeting place. I have seen somewhere some dreamers had a group online with a picture of an Astral Temple they wanted everyone to get together and visualize into a dream. It would be a fun experiment if interested people agreed on a place to meet.
I was sleeping next to a girl I was seeing when I had a dream. She was a character and we had a conversation. In my dream we were on the beach. It wasn't lucid, however.
In the morning she told me that she had a dream with me in it but we were in a city. But the crazy thing was that she dreamed the same conversation I did! SO I am a believer.

I am skeptical about shared dreaming, but I try to keep an open mind about it. My brother and I are doing expirements to try to prove or disprove whether it is possible. So far, no success, but we're not giving up any time soon.

So what kind of view was it? Were you both in the air manipulating characters from afar, or were one of you in first person mode?

You shared the exact same sight, or the exact same dreamscape?

When someone reached the level where they fully understand dream sharing and can do it at will, they will easily be able to prove its existence.

Anyway, simple fMRI and EEG machines can read our minds by picking up the electromagnetic waves, so maybe theres a possibility that our brains can do the same thing. Because in our brains, we have this 'pineal gland', our third eye, or our minds eye, which gives off hormones that induce dreams. This pineal gland also serves as an eletromagnetic wave receiver. Birds use their pinael gland to navigate blindly, its like they have built in GPS.

So since birds use their pineal glands as electromagnetic receivers, you could think that humans might also be able to receive electromagnetic waves through their pineal gland.

From a scientific point of view, dream sharing might be possible since we do have a builtin receiver.. but the knowledge of science on the brain is very very limited. In fact, our brain is one of the few things in this universe we haven't figured out yet. And we're not even close.

Anyway, if dream sharing isn't possible naturally, in the future, we will for sure find a way to make dreamsharing possible virtually.

      Shared Dreaming

Hi - I have never had a shared dream myself, but I believe that it is possible. I do know a friend who had the same dream as her cousin who was staying at their home when I was in junior high (but I think it was the same dream vs. the two of them being in a dream together . . . this is different than shared dreaming). I have seen a few people online claim to have had shared dreams. The reason I believe it is possible is that we are all connected (by what some call the superconsciousness) and not separate as many people believe. This is how many different types of unexplained phenomenon happen (some psychic events, certain procedures in energy medicine, the law of attraction, synchronicity, etc.) I would love to know how to initiate a shared dream. I've read a couple of things on this, but the closest I've gotten is dreaming about a friend and in the dream waking them up and telling them we are lucid dreaming (but they were just dream characters, not the actual person dreaming with me) . . . It sounds like people who have experienced it here happened upon it by accident . . . if anyone has dream shared intentionally and has a method, please share it with us!
