      Continuous Narrative Anyone?

Okay, so since 2005 I have had this other worldly
experience, everytime i go to sleep i enter into this realm,
another reality, its as real as this one...

then when i wake up, it is as if someone or something presses
the pause button, and the following night i return to sleep,
and something pressed play again and the story
begins where it left off the previous night...

      does anyone else experience this??

It is quite interesting, i know many people, creatures, beings
in this realm, and some I have gotten to know quite well.

      Any thoughts?

      similar experience

      Hi Eipta,

It's the same for me..except it's more like a background narrative, and the smaller plots don't get "played" every night after the last dream stopped.

The film-like narrative goes back in the past, jumps in the future, sometimes I control the events, and sometimes not.

But overall, I've lived the same thing. Pretty amazing, hey?

I started when I was really young and still go to that same "country". I've always appeared like the weirdo when I say that so I'm glad that I'm not the only one...

      That is very interesting..
i too started when i was very young,
about 5 or so, and actually were
multi-story layering kind of thing when i was
seven... ever since then it has been one
      heck of a ride.

That is really cool... you should write down the stories of what happens and make a book. I'm sure other people would love to read about a life long dream.

A book would be cool for sure! I think the creative process behind the recollection, the analysing etc is more important than the end product. But that's something definitely worth working towards.

      I give myself 30 years! (I'm already 28!!)

I love that you say it's been "a heck of a ride"! That's exactly how I feel too!!!

It's so hard to explain unless you've lived it: the fights, the wars, the quests, the intricate stories, the angels and demons, the colourful landscapes, the emotional turmoils, the beauty of things unseen in the waking life....

Same exact thing here. But I argue that the dreamworld is more vast and complex than reality. I was depressed for a couple of weeks, because of very good dreams with emotions I can't describe in words. I was sleeping constantly and wanted to dream. Now I put reality first.

Do you have recurring characters and places in your dreams? Are you ever lucid in them?

She's lucid all the freaking time, and seems to have recurring characters and places.

Do you work to keep the constant narrative, or does it happen naturally? Thats so fascinating. Do you feel like this is an alternate reality? Or do you think its all in your head?

I have that happen from time to time as well, but not usually the next night. For me it happens when I wake from a really good dream, and get up to go to the bathroom or something. Sometimes I re-enter the dream where I left off.
