The main difference beside one having a body and the other not, is in how evil they feel. Shadow people emit evil with the intensity ordinary light bulb. And once you get used to them, they become more of a curiosity than something scary. The bodiless things emit evil with the intensity of the sun.

Ha! You wish it was that easy to break!
Something they mention on that radio show is that praying or invoking the name of Jesus will often break sleep paralysis. I found that interesting, because I've heard the same thing mentioned in alien abduction cases (which some think is just a form of SP anyways). From the various accounts, it seems to work even for people who don't believe in God. Personally, I think that has to do with the power of archetypes, but I've yet had an opportunity to try it.

Beats me. Never really been attacked by one. "Old hag" type scenarios are the only attacks I've had. And they weren't necessarily old hags, usually some kind of banshee looking thing, but they never look the same.
