      Dreaming while awake

      Hey everyone,

I was into lucid dreaming for a few months about 1-2 years ago, had about 15-20 LDs but never got too into it. About a week ago I had a strange dream experience.

I went to sleep in my apartment with the TV on; I woke up 2-3 hours later and turned the TV off. Throughout this period I would wake up for a few minutes (and briefly remembered my last dreams) and fall back asleep. After waking up from a dream I distinctly remember walking up to a window and closing the blinds. However, later in the night, I woke up and sleep paralysis hit me before I went back to sleep. At first it was just regular SP (never thought it was that scary) for a few minutes. Then I was able to move around for a bit, slightly freaked out, before SP hit me again (is that supposed to happen?).

Anyways, during the second wave of SP someone was in my apartment. He started at the doorway and walked over directly in front of me. The person proceeded to bend down and breathe into my face (I was fucking scared, I tried so many ways to get myself to move), walked around the room, repeated, and then disappeared. I sat up in my bed, looked out the window (referenced earlier) and saw 4 people laying down in my backyard. They all slowly started standing up, so I went into panic mode. I told myself 'I must be dreaming' so I formed my hand in to a gun to shoot whatever came out at the mysterious people. Since this wasn't working, I turned on my TV and the light from the screen made it impossible to see outside.

After this I watched two episodes of Family Guy before finally falling back asleep. The next morning someone knocked on the door, and I was still freaked out because I literally jumped out of bed.

This felt 100x as real as any LD I have ever had, and felt different. Has anyone had an experience where they experience dream-like hallucinations while awake? (no I was not on any drugs, no I am not schizo )

      yes I have experienced this:

dreaming awake: i was in a bath-tub and someone was in there with me. the person was instructing me how to wash my hair. i realised it was a middle aged man and i got grossed out. i began waking up and on my bed was sitting the same guy. i told him to get the fuck out, he said something, but i don't remember. something about if i wanted something i would have to do something. I was CLEARLY awake but dreaming at the same time. after he saw that i wasn't interested and that i couldn't understand him the image of him faded and my room came into focus.

i lay back and wondered if the schitzophrenia from my mothers side was kicking in. as i thought this i felt like i was falling and spinning, my ears buzzed and i became normal again.

      HELLS YEAH

sounds like you may have experienced a false awakening.

I once had an auditory HH that about 2 minutes after I woke up. That was pretty nuts.

that would make sense, he falls asleep on first SP, and has a FA. He was probably thinking about sp as he was falling asleep, so he dreams about it. and has a false WILD (lol) so you had a dream within a dream maybe? and you said you closed the blinds so did you open tehn when you looked out the window or were they already open. anyway then you lay down after there apparently people in you back yard??? i would be fucking scared!!! Did you do a reality check, and were the position of the blinds the same as you had left them when you woke up?
