the best astral projection resource on the net that I know of is astral dynamics

      http://www.astraldynamics.com/home/

there is info you can read online, and from what I understand - yes - meditation is a part of the projection process. actually, it doesn't look like you can project consciously unless you can enter a deep state of meditation

I don't practice astral projection, not really, too lazy to try. but the website also offers some other goodies, like energy work

You can borrow the book from the library.

You were experiencing sleep paralysis, I think.

I have that book; it's pretty good and a short read. Gets lent out a lot.

Read a book, and/or take advice, but other than that nobody can help you or give you any secret tips. No book can do it for you, nobody can do it for you. Practice the WILD technique. I don't know the rope technique but it is probably a visualization. Vizualizing and relaxing are the two elements of WILDing and Astral projection. But it takes tremendous dedication, not just curiosity. I have been trying to learn Astral Projection for years and the only time it's happened are when I am not trying. All of the times it has happened for me have been dream initiated except for one time.

ap is super difficult. meditation can get you there but it has to be done for hours on end every day and you can't have distractions. I would stay focused on LDing for now, you have an infinitely better chance of increasing your LDs then ever APing.

True, and it is easier to AP directly from a LD. The way I have read about it is to dream of going back to your bed and lying down into your dreambody and then getting up again this time in your astral. It happened that way once for me but most of the time the way I do it is to walk through a dream 'astralizing wall' or forcefield or fly up and up and up into brighter light and my dreambody gradually becomes my astral.

Yes, good point, I can't speak for everyone but for me AP is 1000x easier from a lucid dream.
