    1. Laboratory and the Login Screen

This was a long dream; I know other things happened, but I honestly can't recall what necessarily happened! And it's too bad I can't remember some of the smaller details, such as exactly what the names on the computer screen said.

I was in the laundry room, located in my basement. You know. It's that back room that has the washing machine and dryer, as well as other crap from around the house. The room was about fourteen feet wide by twenty feet long, and had cold concrete flooring that was painted pale, pale blue. Some of it was chipping off. There were large random segments of cut, flat Berber carpet (blue in color) around the floor, supposedly just for comfort as one would walk into the room. On the right was the washing machine, and right next to it was the dryer. They were both white and shiny. In the back half of the room, past the washing machine and dryer, was a wall dividing up the room. On the left, once you'd get to the wall, was a door. To the right of the wall, on the back end of the right side of the room, was a large white horizontal freezer.

I was looking to get someone to see my laboratory. No one was following me, but I was acting as if someone was. It's fairly difficult to explain. I went to the left side and opened the door, expecting a laboratory to be behind it. There was a small room with single squares of toilet paper neatly placed all over the walls. I laughed because of this and became lucid.

I looked around the lab and saw a long, all-steel desk against the wall with a black widescreen computer on it. There was no chair in front of it, so I was standing. I was lucid so, just for laughs, I decided to turn the computer on.

I imagined it was simply in "sleep" mode, and then pressed a round silver button in the lower right-hand part of the monitor, like many computers have. To the left of it were smaller, black buttons. The screen turned on almost immediately and I felt almost enlightened by it. Maybe it's because I've never used a computer in lucid dreams before, but I just happened to have easy access to one this time. I was very lucid, probably at 8/10 lucidity, but I didn't think of what my dream goals were or what else I could do. After turning the computer on, the first thing that appeared was the windows login screen.

There were four or five different names on the right side of the Windows logo, like a regular computer would have. However, the text of the account names was a bit larger, and in yellow. The names were also longer, at least ten characters each, some with underscores and random uppercase letters or numbers. I laughed once again, because most of them made no sense, and also because the computer actually worked properly. At least, from what I did with it so far. It was pretty awesome.

I was in a convention center with pretty high ceilings; it actually looked like an art gallery. The floors were yellow cream tile, the walls white, and the lighting was coming from many light bulbs in circular encasements right in the ceiling.

There were two floors to this building: the main floor, and the basement. The main floor was of the layout described above, but the basement was mostly shiny beige-painted concrete, and had a much lower ceiling, only around ten feet from the ground. I was taking an escalator down to the basement, and while I was standing there, going down, I was going over some sort of plan. "Build" is the only word I can remember, but it definitely wasn't anything bad.

On the way down I saw Gilbert Huph (Mr. Incredible's boss) sitting on the escalator rail, going up, while I was going downwards. He looked at me and said, "did you just say bomb"? I didn't, so I spent a few moments saying "no" and trying to convince him. Ultimately he just laughed, hopped off the escalator at the end, and walked away.

      Notes:
The thing I hate about lucid dreams is that, sometimes, your brain happens to switch on as soon as the dream's ending. Anyways, I was watching the pilot of this intense show called Lie to Me yesterday, so I guess that's where the dream content came from.

I was in the basement of my house. The lights were made from steel, and they were modern-looking fat cylinders that hung from the ceiling. But the lighting in the room was dim, as if someone had turned the dimmer switch almost all the way down. That was okay though, because I was sitting in one of two brown suede couches, both reclined, watching my mom put a DVD into the player. The television moniter was already on, and it was flashing white light every few seconds. Flash. Flash.

As soon as she inserted the player, the movie started, but I wasn't interested in watching anything. Instead, I got up and sat behind the couch I was just on. "Mom," I told her, "since you're the one who chose the movie, we've probably seen it way too many times." I picked up a DVD case with a label sort of like this:

Of course, it wasn't exact and was probably distorted, because it was a dream. I then realized this and gained lucidity, but two seconds later I felt the dream ending. "Crap".

My DEILD attempt ended in failure.
