      Notes:
Ugh... This was terrible. Usually when I wake up from a nightmare, I just need to do a nose-pinch reality check to know I'm no longer dreaming and relax. But when I woke up from this one, even though I knew I wasn't dreaming, I just couldn't relax and get my heart rate down from the physical effects of the dream.

I was in a well-lit swim apparel store, minding my own business, looking around at different items. The store was the size of an average kid's bedroom, and had flat, bamboo-like walls and light hardwood flooring. There were racks of different swimsuits and other accessories, and on the wall were suits as well. I was looking up at a grey and blue wetsuit on the wall, a few feet higher than I was tall. I jumped up in a rather slow fashion and got high enough to reach the hook; I floated up there for a few moments as I teased the hook away from the others, then fell back down, landing on my feet.

I turned around and, without paying, left the store. The door was made of the same type of hardwood as the floor, but a bit darker; when I opened it, I walked into the basement of my house I'm currently living in. It was almost pitch-black, but I could still see the shapes of furniture in the gloom. I turned to the left and saw a door open; the room it led to was casting a pale orange light into the dark basement room, lighting me up. I looked around and nothing was illuminated except for me.

I turned around and looked at the door again. Standing there in the entranceway, not moving, was a red fox, a bit smaller than fully grown. It was probably around two feet long and only half a foot high, and had a slightly browner coloration than a normal red fox would have. It looked at me in that instant with an almost menacing glare. I started to walk towards it and as I did, I said, "shoo". "Go away". Lines like that.

Then it bared its teeth and leapt at my left hand, snarling in a frightening, high-pitched sort of way, and started to bite it. I felt pins and needles, numbness, and a bit of pain. I tried to forcefully shake it off, but as I did, I could feel my hand starting to fall off with it. The fox vanished and without looking at my hand, I noticed a small gray kitten sitting in the darkness, now slightly lit up with white light. It snarled and hissed, and leapt at my hand again, tearing it up more.

      I woke up.

    2. Standing up to the Nightmare

It started off in my old bedroom; it was very dark throughout the room, and no light was pouring in through the windows to aid my vision. I was sitting on my double-size bed, and then I suddenly fell backwards into a dark void. It was pitch black and I could hear faint humming, but I couldn't discern what it was coming from. I was floating up and down for a long time, and looking at myself from a third person perspective. I also saw my bedroom, and taking up almost a quarter of the room, mostly on top of the bed, was the void. It was dark and floating like a cloud of smoke.

My perspective changed back to first person, and I was hailed by a voice. "You're going to do as I say, or else you'll stay here forever. Do you accept?" I nodded, "yes".

I was back in my room in that instant, sitting on my bed again. There was a shadow, almost in the shape of a child, on another double bed in front of me. I looked at it, squinting a bit. "You're going to harvest some things for me," it told me. The voice was almost like one a little girl would have.

I then found myself along the side of a stucco house, surrounded by large pine trees. There was a lot of real-looking snow on the ground, but it wasn't cold even though I was kneeling down in it. I was with another person, also being told what to do by the shadow. He was slightly older than me, and was wearing a hoodie and dark blue jeans. We were both sitting in front of a tiny tree with blue Christmas baubles hanging from it. I held out my finger and a spark of blue light came from it, traveling in a straight line. It hit one of the baubles and it started glowing, changing shape. When the glow vanished, it was in the shape of a small steel ring. I took it and pocketed it immediately. We spent the next few minutes of the dream doing this.

Then, I was back at the house, in my bedroom. The shadow looked like it was holding out its hand, so I handed it the rings, but they dropped right through it and onto the bed. "You idiot," it told me angrily. "You don't have as many as I asked for."

I became aware that I was dreaming, but not enough to change the plot, control the shadow, or do pretty much anything. I failed to control my anger at the shadow so I began to speak even though I felt it would put me back in the void. I had to try. "Listen," I said to it, "I don't know what you are. But you're a horrible creature that instead of going out there and doing things yourself, makes other people with lives do them! I should put you in a void, see how you like it.

I almost thought I could hear sniffling, but the shadow didn't move or shift. "Sorry," it said softly, and vanished.

    3. Acid, Stone, the Cat's Tail

I was at a conventional library. There was only one large room with bookshelves along the walls; in the middle there was a big blue mat with white plastic lounge chairs, like at the beach. The lighting was dimmer than normal.

I saw the thief (dressed in a black shirt and blue jeans) that took my precious blue stone, and I was going to have to destroy it. He was going to do something bad with it, I could tell. I cannot remember how I got it back, but I remember standing in front of him with a small beaker of hydrochloric acid. I put the stone in and he just stared, upset, but he didn't try to save it. I walked away and went through the doors, still holding the beaker.

The dream changed. I was now at home on the floor, experimenting with the hydrochloric acid. The carpet was tan and very plush, comfortable to lie on, while the lighting was normal this time around. I carefully put a bronze-colored coin into the acid and watched it disappear within seconds.

My cat then came around. She was all gray, with a large white patch on her belly coming up the sides and along her face, and two white socks on her front feet (white coloration, not actual socks). Her face was extremely cute.

      A photograph of her.

She walked, with a slight swagger because her belly was a bit larger than normal, right up to me and sat down. I pet her a few times, running my hand through her fur, and then she suddenly flicked her tail into the acid. She turned around and it was still inside, beginning to dissolve. As with anyone who's stuck something in acid, she started to scream, and I quickly pulled her tail out. There were little bubbles and pink spots on it, but no blood.

    4. The Hissing Cat

I took a nap a few hours ago as I was tired; this dream is the result of it.

It was light outside, and this light was spilling into the room of this fairly modern house. The room was no more than fifteen by fifteen feet, and there was one square archway in the center of one wall. In the middle of the room was a pale burgundy mat with an intricate pale gold pattern and an old-fashioned dark wooden table with the kind of legs that curl up. The flooring was white marble tile with slightly darker grout; the dark marbling of it was only barely visible so it looked more like basic white tile.

In the left-hand corner of the room, to the left of the archway, was a large potted tree, the dark green leaves amalgamating into somewhat of an egg shape.

Although it didn't happen in the dream, I knew I was following a few cats around the house. I already saw a black one that rolled over and let me pet its belly, but now I was looking for another one. My sister appeared and I asked her, "where's the brown and white cat?"

She pointed behind the tree, and there was the cat, lying down, half-hidden behind it. My sister disappeared and I knelt down to have a closer look. The cat curled around the pot a bit to get closer to me. It was white with a dark brown back, but its most striking feature was smaller dots of orange all over where the brown and white colors met. It looked at me with intent.

I reached out to pet it, but I stopped advancing because its eyes had widened and its ears flattened. Its mouth opened but nothing came out. In a few moments, it returned to normal so I reached out even more, slower this time. I touched its head and it made an evil "mrrrrow..." noise as if to warn me to get my hand off. I took my hand off and as soon as I did that it got up, leaning towards me but not taking any steps. I lunged out slightly towards it as if to say "I'm the boss", towering over it, and it recoiled by flattening itself to the ground and wearing the cutest expression.

I was in a fairly large computer lab, hanging around with a couple of my friends. The walls were brick painted a solid grey color which would have made the room look like a prison if not for the computers and school-like posters hanging all over the walls. The room was well-lit. Around the walls of the room were long, light turquoise desks and in the center of the room was another one. There were computers stationed two to a desk, with the exception of the center table, which I was sitting at. I was using a white laptop.

I came across this site, although I'm not sure how, of a high-quality video involving a Savannah-like landscape.

It looked very similar to this.

It was in the middle of nowhere. There was a metal fence laid straight across the whole area, and another coming out perpendicular from that one. It made a T-shape. On one side of the fence was a German shepherd dog on a leash, and on the other was a creature around half the size of the dog. It had the face, head, and body shape of a cat, but had the tail and ears of a fox. It had a peppered gray coat with a touch of brown, and had thicker dark, almost black stripes running horizontally along its coat.

It looked pretty cute, but it was snarling at the dog through the fence grating.

Then, it burrowed under the fence (I might add it did this fairly quickly), and leaped right at the dog, biting its nose. It then grabbed onto its muzzle with its paws and didn't let go even when the dog shook it off.
