This dream started in my house. I was in the hallway of the second floor, but one side of this hallway wasn't walled-off, and instead it had a half-wall that overlooked the first floor, which went out from underneath it for another ten feet or so. The walls were beige and the half-wall was topped off with a smooth, rounded section of dark wood. The floors, as they've always been, were hardwood. The first floor must have been twenty feet tall, judging from how high up the second one was.

I was standing up against the half-wall, with my elbows resting on with wood on top. I wanted to leave the house but I knew my dad wouldn't let me; he was in an irritable mood. The tall wall I was facing had a large, vertical rectangular window made of one solid pane of glass. If you were to look below the window, you'd see the front door of the house. It was a set of white double doors with brass doorknobs. I peered over the wall to look down at them; it was fairly dark in the house though, because the lighting was dimmed. Light was coming from a room to the right on the first floor, on the wall adjacent to the one with the door, though. My dad was in that room.

I looked out through the big window and it was clearly nighttime; the sky was pitch-black. The only thing I could see were distant street lights. I did see a two-lane road right in front of my house going perpendicular to it, but that's because it was right near the house.

The dream skipped and I was now downstairs, right in front of the door. Right there, I became lucid. Wanting to avoid a possible scrap with my dad (because the dream had a slightly dark air to it), I called out to him; I sort of knew he was still in the room to the right. The light was still on, too, letting a flood of yellow into the main room, the one I was in.

"Dad," I said, "I'm leaving now! I'll be back in a bit."

I expected him to oblige and simply say 'alright', but that didn't happen. Moments later, I prepared to open the door and summon the indoor "arrivals" terminal of an airport, and that was when I felt an invisible hand on my shoulder. I didn't summon this hand; I'd simply forgotten all about my dad, but the dream obviously had other ideas. The hand freaked me out slightly but I shoved it off, saying, "dad, this is a dream and you have no business doing that. Get lost." I kept my cool because I was aware enough that I was dreaming, and that nothing could hurt me.

"You're not leaving!" I heard him shout from the other room; his voice sounded hollow but not echoey at all. I gathered up my visualizations again and was about to open the door, when the floor gave way. It split in two, and I could hear the hardwood snap as I plunged right-side up into blackness.

Okay, so I was pretty much totally unnerved now, but I still managed to keep my charade going. "What did I say?" I exclaimed, rolling my eyes as I fell down through the blackness. I crossed my arms. "Put me back, NOW!"

The lack of visual input must have been what caused the dream to end.

I was in my living room, properly lit from an unknown light source. The room was shaped like a pretty thick "L", with white walls, wood molding along the bottoms of the walls, and shiny dark brown hardwood flooring. There were two windows along the longer wall of the room; both had the same type of wood for borders as the molding along the floor. There was a pale red leather couch in the corner of the room on a diagonal, it would only seat one person because of its size. There was a small square-shaped, modern two-drawer wooden cabinet along the wall opposite of the chair. In the middle of the room was a coffee table with modern brass legs and an oval-shaped glass top.

The rest of the room was empty, except for me and a friend of mine. I knew her in real life. We had just walked into the room and she looked at me expectantly. Although I wasn't lucid, I suddenly got the idea to teach her some dream skills. "We're dreaming, did you know that?" I asked her. And she answered, "really?"

"Yes. Want to learn some cool stuff?"

      "Sure."

"See that table?" I said, pointing to the coffee table, "look away from it." She obeyed and I continued to instruct. "Now, think of a package of candy. Expect it to be on the table as you turn around, visualizing it fully." At this point I was facing her and not the table. She turned around and walked towards the table; I looked at it and there was a few balls of chocolate on it. She picked one up and ate it. "Yum."

Where the heck was my awareness?

I was at a dock. It was an ordinary, wooden dock that actually looked fairly brand-new, and there were a few boats stationed around it, facing out towards a vast sea. I was looking out towards it too, at the end of the dock. Behind me was a large land mass filled with houses and other buildings, and trees. It almost reminded me of Orlando, Florida.

I wanted to take a boat ride, but all the boats weren't touching the dock, so I couldn't get inside any of them. I looked at one, a white boat with a thin blue stripe going horizontally across it, and pulled it in with my hands, using an invisible rope. I saw its wake as the boat came towards me with surprising speed. I stopped gesturing as if I were holding a rope, and now I gestured randomly with my hand to make it turn, Transformers-style, into a super futuristic boat.

That didn't work, though; nothing happened.

I ditched the boat because I had now lost interest, and saw a vehicle parked where the dock began. It almost looked like a Honda Element, but the body was curved and the rear end of the car was box-like. It's difficult to explain. The car had a silver paint job. I looked it up and down and got inside.

Now I was watching from a third-person perspective. I thought the car looked horrid now, so I looked away and looked back, expecting it to be cooler. It changed a bit and was now more curvy and futuristic, but not quite. I looked away and back again, and it was now really boxy. It had the Hummer logo on the side, and it looked exactly the same as the real thing. But the model was "5", a non-existent number for Hummer.

It was like this except with the number 5.

The dream skipped forward and I was now back at the dock, but not on it: I was on a beach, and the dock was situated a few feet away. The water looked crystal clear and I could see dolphins coming up for air. I decided to try diving without a scuba mask, so I imagined I could breathe underwater, and I submerged myself. The water was only a few feet deep, so I didn't get all of myself under. When I was underneath the surface, I could breathe normally. I saw a dolphin looking at me, and it wasn't moving at all. I also couldn't move, myself. I came back up.
