    1. A Different Kind of Flambé - Cherry on Fire

      Notes:
      I was half-asleep a few nights ago and got some nonsensical imagery of flames, elephants and fruits, cherries being one of them. I then got the random idea to set a cherry on fire in an upcoming lucid. I didn't plan on doing it this soon because I had more dated goals, but in this LD, my logic wasn't completely turned on and my memory of waking life events wasn't too good. When lucid, I thought about what I wanted to do for a few moments, and only remembered to do the cherry thing. If I had the awareness I would've done something else, but...

      A final note, I had this dream after waking up in the middle of the night for two hours, feeling really sick, then going back to bed when my stomach settled down. I did a few RCs and awareness sessions during this time. As for the dream itself, I was pretty tired and fell asleep right away, so I'm surprised I remember as much of it as I do.

      I was in my "house", except this wasn't quite my actual house. It was a single square room, probably only 15x15 feet, and it was darkly-lit so I couldn't see what kind of flooring it had. I did see the walls were a lighter blue with a slight green tint, and the molding around the ceiling and along the floor was white, and relatively plain. The room was divided in two equal sections by another wall, of the same color, that ran from one side of it to the other. It had a large, clean rectangular opening so that if you were to look at the wall, you'd see the other half of the room. The opening in the dividing wall must have been three feet tall and six feet wide, and positioned more to the left side. On the right was a basic open doorway, with no door.

      I was standing on one side of this wall and looking at the other side; it consisted of a basic kitchen countertop, white in color with dark wooden cabinets. There were no chairs or tables, or a fridge, just the counters. The center of the room had a warm yellow light shining down on it, which dissipated towards the walls of the room. In the half of the room I was in, there was little lighting except a bit coming in from a window. When you looked out the window, you could see a very dark, pale blue street with snow. That seems to be a common setting for houses in my dreams.

      I leaned up against the opening of the wall and put my arms over the foot-thick structure; I became lucid as I did this. I noticed the appearance of the opening change a bit; before it was just lined by the blue-green wall, but now it was lined with polished, lighter wood (bamboo-color?). It was like the lining of a windowsill. I counted my fingers, one, two, three, four, five... But I knew better than to assume anything by just using the finger check, so I plugged my nose and I could breathe; the air felt still and it was room temperature. I also noted the location I was in, and then realized it was a combination of my old house's living room and a kitchen.

      For stabilization, I took a few steps back and looked at the wood on the rectangular wall opening; I could see a few small holes in it, probably the size of thumbtack heads, but it wasn't littered with them. I then put my right hand on the wood and moved it along, seeing how it felt. It felt like polished wood, where there was a bit of friction and it took slightly more effort to move my hand. It was realistic; the more intensely I observed the wood, the cooler it felt. I then rubbed my hands together and tried to think about what my dream goals were; after ten seconds I remembered wanting to set a cherry on fire, so I held my right hand out in front of me, forming a fist. After doing this, I moved my thumb out to the right and my last for digits downwards a bit, imagining a cherry to roll up a bit from inside my grip. A maraschino cherry appeared; it was bright red like the real thing, but the stem was half the size it should've been, and it was very slightly transparent, making its color a bit lighter than normal. I looked closely at it, then started to use pyrokinesis. I imagined warmth coming from the cherry and saw that the places where my hand was touching it ripple outward slightly, and these ripples glowed orange. The left and right of the cherry then started to show a sleek flame coming up from either side; this flame was mostly red-orange but also had some yellow blended in.

      It took about a minute to get a flame to fully encapsulate the cherry, but I did it. The flame was very realistic and seemed to come mostly from the bottom and rise up and around the cherry, but a few smaller licks of fire came from in between the fruit and where I was touching it. I'd never seen so realistic flames in a dream before, so I was mesmerized! I didn't feel a burn from the fire coming from the cherry, but just a slight 'fuzziness', as if I was rubbing my fingers against a chalkboard.

      The cherry looked the same as it did initially, not burning or anything. But as the dream started to end, I popped the cherry into my mouth. It tasted like pure white sugar. The outside was crispy as if it had been charred, though when I was holding it before, it was soft and visibly unaffected by the fire.


      I tried a DEILD, but it failed because I accidentally opened my eyes!

    2. Today I'm Zac Efron

      I had just woken up for the morning and it was pretty early; I'm guessing it was the time that people get up for school or work. I was walking towards a table in the middle of a kitchen, where my father and sister were sitting.

      The table was a circular, dark brown wooden one, not that polished, with a few slight imperfections. The chairs were cheap metal ones with the soft plastic seats and backs. The rest of the kitchen was pretty tight; it was almost like your basic kitchen with plain walls and stuff. The space was shaped like a fat rectangle, and on three walls were counters and wall cabinets. The table was positioned in the middle of the room, with barely any room to move the chairs because it was so packed in.

      Light was pouring through a large window at the end of the room, on one of the two shorter walls.

      I walked towards the table and sat down. Apparently in the dream, every time I woke up in the morning, I'd look like a different person.

      Today, my sister said, "hey, good morning Zac Efron."

      I looked at myself. I was wearing men's pants and a baggy, dark pale blue shirt. I looked in a fairly large plain mirror that magically appeared on the table, and my suspicions were confirmed. Great, I thought, disappointed by what I saw. "I was hoping for someone a bit more attractive," I said, half exasperated and half humorously.

      My dad laughed.

      This was a scary-accurate dream.
      I was walking in the living room of my grandpa's house, which is out in British Columbia. The room was around twenty by twenty feet, making it pretty open, and the lighting was a bit darker than normal. The ceilings were high and the walls were beige with wood panelings on one wall. The floor was softer dark tan carpet.

      Against one wall was a tan sofa that would seat three people, and on the adjacent wall there was another one, which would probably seat four people. My father was sitting on this sofa, and had asked me if I had any movies to watch. I'd picked up the movie Zodiac from somewhere and I was walking towards him. I had recently bought it from a store for $6.99 (previously viewed), and this price was labeled on it with a yellow circle sticker. In the dream, the sticker was on it, in the same place. And the cover looked the same, too.

      I remember reading "Mark Ruffalo," "Jake Gyllenhaal", and "Robert Downy Jr." in the same order that was on the real case. I gave it to my father and acknowledged the condition of the case, saying, "yeah, it's previously viewed, but the disc is in perfect condition".

      He asked if it was a good movie and I replied, "it has a 89 on Rotten Tomatoes."

      I never produce the exact same numbers in my dreams as real life, so this tipped me off when I woke up. Look here for the current Zodiac rating.

    4. Family Members in the Kitchen

      I was in a small kitchen. It was barely 10x15 feet, and the tiles were small beige ones. The cabinets and countertops were wood, and there were a few unwashed dishes on the counter.

      I was holding a white dinner plate, with a steak knife on it. The knife had a baked apple or something tasty-looking pulled over the blade, and I knew it would be for someone to eat. I turned around and saw a small table, big enough for four people, but one side was right up against the wall so only three people could sit down. My uncle was sitting in one chair, and my mother was sitting in the other one.

      I put the dish I was holding on the counter and sat down in the third chair. There was a dark-colored steak on the table, and I couldn't tell if it was covered in pepper or char. My mom was speaking to my uncle and telling him good news, but I can't recall what she said because first, she was doing it fairly quietly, and also because the dream wasn't extremely vivid.

    5. 200th Lucid - Flipping Cars

      This dream was pretty cool.

      I was in the kitchen of my house, although it looked different. It had black granite countertops, light wooden countertops, and an island in the middle of the room, topped with the same black granite. There was a black modern stove in the middle of two pieces of counter, like most people have in their homes. I looked at the clock and was already more aware than normal. I became lucid as my gaze turned to the clock, and it read 5:8, aligned to the left. There was a space where the third number should have been.

      I did my usual simultaneous "yes" and "woohoo", and turned around to face the door, twenty feet or so away, located in the entrance way. I really wanted it to be light outside, unlike previous lucids. This wasn't exactly a false awakening, but I was in my house, and every time I'd exit my house, it would end up being dark outside. However, the lighting in the house was very close to normal, so I was hoping that'd help in keeping the lighting equal. I walked towards the door and opened it, expecting it to be light outside. As the door turned, I became a bit excited because the whole neighborhood was light, as if it were daytime. I slowly walked out the door, expecting my mother to be on the other side, and she was. I ignored her because that was pretty much just a control test, and walked down the driveway and onto the two-lane road. My street's a crescent, so it's a T-shaped road; one large road turns over into a small loop, which was where my house was. There was cars slowly driving by on the road, but in the wrong direction. I recognized this and laughed.

      I looked down the crescent and that was when I saw a shiny red truck, similar to an F-150, going down the street, onto the curb, and then onto the front yards, destroying grass.

      "Stop!" I shouted to it.

      The truck let out a hollow-sounding honk and kept going.

      "Where's my control now?" I cursed, upset.

      Then I saw a young girl, probably four or five years of age tops, playing with a yellow toy dumptruck in the yard. The truck was heading right towards it.

      Should I save her, even if she wasn't real? I didn't want to waste my lucid time doing that. "Fine," I said, somewhat arguing with myself, and ran towards the truck. It began to drive over me when I pushed my hand into the bottom bumper and it shot up into the air, flipping a few times and then landing on its side. Its wheels were still turning as a generic man got out of the trunk... From the bottom of it (not visible because it was overturned and I was on the other side), not using the doors or windows.

      I forgot all about the girl and continued to fling and punch out cars as they drove by. My control had returned; if it hadn't, I'd probably have gotten run over.

    6. Astronaut Suit and Sausages

      I was in my kitchen, but it didn't look anything like the real thing. This room had light-colored wooden cabinets, drawers, and even countertops. I should also mention that the flooring was white marble like one would find in a million-dollar mansion. The lights were on, casting a yellow glow, but it was pitch black outside.

      I was walking around for no apparent reason, and I stopped at the stove (which was a normal-looking black color).There were two sausages sizzling in a pan, but there was no light indicating that the stove was on. I pushed a large round button that stuck out of the panel on the back of the stove; it was about the size of my palm. The sausages stopped cooking as soon as I pressed it.


      I turned around and sat on the countertop, looking around the room almost in a restless fashion. There was no table for people to sit at. I looked down and I was suddenly in an astronaut suit. It had way less details than it should've had though, and it didn't seem like I was looking through a helmet. I spent the rest of the dream looking around the kitchen for some unknown item.
