Nice DC dream control to get your DCs to come along and very funny how they switched roles and your friend was bouncing in the air.

The mirror thing was really crazy, especially the first part and the second scene I found intriguing. Like you followed the story of their life.

Thanks, yeah the Circus Maximus was quite cool! Time's getting pretty short on TotY, but that doesn't mean I can't still keep trying for my favorites, right?

Ha, you're right! Totally fell for the woman in the red dress! I remember thinking that Neo would only fall for that because he was such a newbie... but in dreams it is so hard to avoid distraction! Really, really tough.

Neo is the dogs B*llocks when it comes to oneironmancy!

Yeah Ophelia and the team should make the woman in the red dress a task - we would both never fail to get wings.

I don't think it's an IQ issue (more of a test.) Maybe a flood of testosterone - but like Neo, we are all human after all.

Nice idea for the occasion, thoughtful too. It does appear she came to you for guidance; sometimes the most powerful way of guiding someone is just by being present and providing a safe environment for discovery. As far as your own powers, yours might not be as flashy (in regards to the other dreams you've written so far) but there's one thing you do very well. You keep an open mind.

Thank you, Belle, I really appreciate that! Having been wrong about virtually everything in lucid dreaming at one time or another, an open-minded state is probably the only one in which I can hope to make progress!

Thanks Nyx!! You're right, psyching myself up by all means necessary seems to be my best bet when I absolutely, positively want to get some stuff done in these dreams.

With the benefit of hindsight, there is no doubt in my mind that I should have wolf-pounced on that alien! My experiences with lucid food had been overwhelmingly positive up until this point so odds were with me on the alien being at least okay. And as I learned, the skunk-meat just wasn't doing it for me.

Man, you always make me laugh with those funny confidence boosting techs, which might be becoming CL's secret trademark.

As we have ascertained already all this mega confidence and euphoria is super successful and you easily complete your tasks.

Where did that alien come from? Maybe you should have taken a bite out of it too? Who knows it might have tasted like candy!

Thanks, Art, and I really owe you one for the advice! Made a world of difference on dream control reliability. I hope I can remember to be this crazy, insanely confident, and aggressive in my future lucids.

The alien would have definitely been the better choice all around in retrospect but by the time I had finished with the skunk he/she/it was out of my awareness and didn't seem to be visible and part of the scene anymore. I have to imagine that it couldn't have been worse than what I ended up trying! =D

Yeah, I have to admit that the profanity really did the trick! I don't use a lot of it IWL so it seems to still carry some serious punch for me in dreams. If it works, I'm using it!

I didn't ask her but in retrospect it was certainly a false awakening. Clue #1 is that when I woke up from the dream it was earlier than the time the FA had occurred (close to 6 AM versus a wake-up time of 5:01 AM if I recall correctly.) But the second big clue is that the scenario of my wife waking up in the middle of the night to work on contracts is pretty much impossible. Once she's out, she is not one to get up to read legal documents (or generally get up at all except with great reluctance.)

Haha so, "there's gonna be some mother fucking snow to my right, goddamnit"? I really want to know the exact phrasing, I don't know why. I guess because it worked, haha.

Ha ha, it was a lot like that. Something like "And now there's going to be some fucking snow right over here!" And a lot of punctuating my speech with rude, bombastic stuff like, "You hear me, you motherfuckers? Some fucking snooow!" I never ever ever speak like this, either, except apparently when I'm trying to get myself all jazzed up during a lucid dream.

Now that's unfortunate. Again, you get the trooper award for forcing yourself through that one!!

Thanks! I was worried that two bites wasn't enough for the task, but I couldn't remember, and regardless, that was all I had in me. No amount of confidence and profanity was going to get me through finishing that meal.

Calea Z. should be a walk in the park for you then if you ever decide to try it.

I think my plan was to just get her someplace a little more fireproof so that she'd be more able to use something like a fire spell. I had this vision of the basement below us as being made entirely of stone, so it seemed like a good place for her to just go nuts with something fire-based in (relative) safety. I wish I'd thought more about why she had these abilities, because I'm really not sure. Even though I seemed to be in some way guiding her, I'm not sure I had any abilities of my own. Apart from prancing around on carpet and opening greeting cards using nothing but the power of my mind.

The crowd's even thicker here but one extremely attractive woman catches my eye as she walks past.

The Matrix - Neo - the blonde in the red dress (in the crowd) funnily springs to my mind!

Sounds like you had sexytime too!

The mirror image of the Asian couple later transforming into the older couple who are still together I find quite comforting considering this so-called modern age.

Oh yeah, that spiral staircase sounds like a perfect way to transition, for sure. That's something that's easy for your mind to envision going on and on and on, just like you need. Seems like a good interpretation on the card! I'm wide open to ideas because I'm certainly not sure myself, although I was certainly amused by it. I thought it might have something to do with me thanking my subconscious for the gift but... my "subconscious" is really just me. Thus the recursiveness of the card having a message thanking me for itself, heh heh... But your interpretation makes a lot more sense, particularly as holiday greeting card season arrives! You do start playing that game of, "Oh, but they sent us one last year!", you know?

There's a door just behind me that looks like it leads down to a basement. I usher her toward the basement, saying, "Let's go downstairs to practice that. It'll be safer there." She's starting to panic but she starts moving toward the basement as the dream ends.

How would you have helped her practice? Just with the control or do you have thoughts as to why she's the way she is?
