    1. Old College

by , 03-07-2011 at 07:49 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Visiting my Old College

I am in the parking lot of the community college that I used to attend. I decide to go in and check the place out, not really having an excuse. I walk into the lobby, and say hello to the receptionist who I used to know. There are two ladies sitting behind the desk who barely notice me, so I say hello again. They look up, but don't seem to recognize me.

I walk down the hallway, which is full of people. Classes are letting out, I think. I don't even consider the possibilit that this is a dream, even though it is one of my most common dreamsigns. Down the hallway to my right is my old boss, whom I used to work for while I attended classes at this college. I don't feel like talking to him or anyone I used to know for some reason, so I walk the other way and try to blend in with the crowd.

    2. Poor Recall

by , 03-07-2011 at 12:51 AM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Grandfather's Ph.D.

We are at my grandparents' house. My mother and I are discussing my Grandfather's attempt to get a Ph.D. "Why not?" we say, "he has already published 8 books." I look at a bookshelf of books, all written by my grandfather.

Yeah, that's it. What kind of dream recall was that?!

    3. Beat Up by a DC

by , 03-05-2011 at 03:02 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
I have been very busy for the past week with exams to study for, and rather stressed. As a result, I have not been keeping up with my dream journal and my recall is getting a little out of shape. Last night I was a little on edge, so I took 800mg valerian. I slept briefly from 12:30am to about 3:00, and then had difficulty getting back to sleep. I took approximately 1/4mg of melatonin at this point. I then briefly attempted a MILD, but my mind was so restless it was difficult to keep any mantra or visualization. Nonetheless, I appear to have been successful in something

      Beat Up

... I am part of a much larger adventure. We are in school or a library or something, possibly in Japan. It might even be a hotel. There is a large swimming pool in one room, and we are chasing after some villain. I apprehend this guy in the pool room, which is also some kind of laboratory. Cornered, he turns on me.

The guy is Japanese, and much larger than I am. I am no match for him, and we circle around a set of shelves containing chemical equipment and some glassware. I think to myself "this is a very odd situation. Not only that, I'm in a school, near a swimming pool, and there are lots of other things that are dreamsigns. I don't ordinarily fight Japanese guys in real life. I'll bet I'm dreaming."
Sure enough, I soon realize, I am!

My Japanese opponent takes advantage of my temporary disorientation upon realizing that I am dreaming. As I stand there laughing to myself and patting myself on the back, he jumps around to my side of the shelves and closes in. "Ha ha!" I laugh, "You do realize this is a dream, don't you? You're no match for me!"

He continues to come towards me. I decide I had better stabilize the dream, so I try a dream posession technique like the one I had great success with in a lucid dream last week. I decide to try to posess my opponent, but he won't stand still. I can see that he won't cooperate for me, and I remember that part of the success last time came from the fact that I posessed my dream self, Monk. I summon Monk.

"Monk," I order, "Appear right here." I indicate to the spot next to me. I look, and there he is, waiting. I step sideways until I should be standing in the same spot as him, and blink a few times until I am seeing with his eyes. I am starting to get this posession technique down, but it was not easy to complete last night because the Japanese fellow was still attacking me.

"Wait a minute!" I say, not quite understanding why he is still playing his part. "Let me stabilize this dream." He doesn't wait, but takes a swing at me. I glance around quickly, trying to notice details and activate my senses. I am partially successfull in this, though it is not easy to do a proper job of it with a huge thug trying to pulverize my skull.

"OK," I say, visiously turning on my assailant, "If that's the way you want it, fine! You're no match for me, this is my dream. I'm lucid, you know."

The Japanese thug just sneers at me, and swings at me again. "Watch this," I say. I visualize a force of energy coming out of my finger, and into the stomach of my attacker. Not much happens, so I thrust at him, feeling the energy as I do so. He looks down at his stomach, as though I had just poked him. Then he laughs.

"You really thought that that would work?" he roars, "Well watch this!" He punches me in the stomach and I double over. Then he grabs me by the shoulders, and throws me into the wall. My breath is knocked out of me. This is not going at all well. Pinning me against the wall by the shoulders, he peers into my face (all this time smiling in a self-satisfied way as though he knows DC's aren't supposed to do this). "What about this?" he says, punching me in the face. "How is the dream going now?" Then he slaps my face a couple of times, pulls back his fist, and delivers a punch directly between the eyes that wakes me up.

      At the Lake

My famliy and I are at a lake. It is on that I used to dream of more frequently, but have not for a while. We wade a little bit at a beach, and come across some large rocks in the water. My Dad starts climbing around on them, jumping from one to another. There is one jump he is hesitant to make, but when I get out onto the rocks I attempt the jump. It isn't like you fall very far if you miss, the rocks are only a few inches out of the water. I miss one jump, and splash into the water. My parents chuckle, and that's all that happens. Pretty anticlimactic for a dream after taking valerian.

      There be Giants

We are in a place with many tunnels. I'm not entirely sure who we are, but I think is it something like the crew of the starship Enterprise. But I'm also at my grandparents' house. Anyway, it is more like a huge sewer system. Many adventures take place that are a little fuzzy when I try to recall them, but they invlolve some mythtical creatures and some robots. A robot crawls inside of the Moon, which somehow causes time to stand still. This does something with a giant.

We now have to defeat this giant. The location is like a shopping mall now. An element of romance has been added, as I am trying to win a girl I believe. There are other people around. I can't remember what they are supposed to be doing. Anway, we can hear the footsteps of the giant down one of the tunnels. They get closer and closer, and we realize we had better seek cover. I try to run up a narrow set of stairs, but the giant follows. There is a scene where two of us and the giant are running around and around the stairs, jumping down to a lower part of the stairwell and running back up again. Then I run into a department store and hide among the shelves.

The giant is captured, and some of our group sets to work on performing a labotomy or something. They open it's skull, and pour in some liquid. A few minutes later, the giant wakes up. I am afraid that he might turn on us again, so I stay in hiding (for some reason, I was a big coward in this dream). Soon the giant approaches the place where I am hiding. Some of my companions come running in to tell me that everything is OK, and the giant is harmless now.
    4. Soup and the Plumber

by , 02-24-2011 at 06:16 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Sleeping In

I sleep in late. It is about 9:30 when I get up, and I go down to have breakfast in my pajamas. For breakfast, I have a bowl of soup that my mother keeps saying is too thin, and that she needs to add more water. While I am eating (I think the soup is pretty good, and hope that she doesn't add more water) a guy walks in to the kitchen. He is a plumber, and is working in the basement. I am a little annoyed, as it makes me look like a slob to be sitting around in my pajamas while people are working. Another guy comes into the room, who is the assistant. We talk about something plumbing related.

      Mirror (fragment)

I am looking into a mirror. I am unable to get a clear image in the mirror, as I seem to keep going cross eyed (sort of).
    5. Better than nothing, I guess

by , 02-23-2011 at 03:55 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
I was probably up too late last night. My dream recall is bad, and the one lucid I remember was very short. I seem to remember being lucid a secondd time during the night, but I remember nothing else.

      Not Fooled by a FA

I wake up, and leave my bedroom. At the top of the stairs, I remember to do a reality check. I realize that I am dreaming. As soon as I realize this, the dream fades to blackness, so quickly that I don't have time to do anything about it. Now in the Void, I decide to hang on until the dream starts again. Then I think perhaps I may be awake. I'm not sure which it is, but I decide if I'm awake to try to WILD or do a DEILD. However, while attempting this I lose lucidity.

I'm now dreaming that I am attempting to WILD. I remember something about "vibrations" occuring while doing this, and I think that I am supposed to shake around a lot. I am sitting in the basement now, trying this. Some other people are there coaching me...

... The fake WILD must be successful, as I find myself in a dream about war. We are fighting a battle on a snow bank. I am cracking jokes with my superior officers. There is more to it than this, but I'm having a hard time remembering. A girl is there, and we are fighting over her (?)...

      Shopping for Camping Equipment

I am in the local outdoor sports store with my family. They have added two staircases that go up to a new floor. There is one in the clothing wing to the right, and another in the camping and fishing wing to my left. My father has bought a giant tent (in real life he just bought a fancy new boat) and I am going to check out camping supplies to go with it. Upon entering the camping section, I see that things have been moved around. I then see that things have been moved to make room for the new stairs. I decide to explore, and climb the stairs.

The staircase is really narrow, and people are bumping into each other. Towards the top, it is so small you have to turn sideways to get up. Another guy is on the stairs, and we remark about the narrowness of the steps to each other. I say something like "I hope no fat person tries to get up here". At the top is another part of the store, with more outdoor supplies.
    6. Tunnels

by , 02-20-2011 at 04:13 AM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Geology Trip

I am on a geology trip with some other students. There is much that I cannot remember, but we end up on a ledge looking out over a ravine. There is a rainbow that can be seen caused by some spray coming off of a waterfall. Some students believe that at the end of this rainbow, there is a great mineral specimen. I realize that the rainbow is just an illusion, as you can move it by walking backwards.

The professor points down into the ravine, and shows us a tunnel. We are going to go into the tunnel. Somehow, I am helpful in doing this.

    7. Inception at Niagara Falls

by , 02-18-2011 at 05:27 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
I watched Inception last night for the first time. Not realizing how long the movie was, I put it on at 11:30pm, and did not get to be until after 2:00am. This having been the last thing on my mind, I decided to use the movie as a target for a visualization MILD. By this time, I was awfully tired though, and it ended up simply being an incubation attempt as it was easier to just tell myself what to dream.

      Sleeping in Class

I am in Chemistry class. The professor is really, really boring and students are nodding off and going to sleep. I nod off as well...
...After a time of what seems to be actual unconscious sleep, I wake up in class. Other students are waking up too. I feel a little bad for sleeping through the lecture, but it feels as though I couldn't help myself.

      Inception II

This dream is not easy to follow. I don't even know if I was lucid or not. I was sort of the main characters in the movie Inception, so I would have been dreaming that I was lucid. Since most of the dream took place with me believing the plot was real, it probably wasn't fully lucid. But in parts all I knew was that the dream was just a dream. So, I'll make it purple in color for hald lucid and half non-lucid. I don't even know where this dream starts, but here goes.

I am sitting on the couch, talking with my family. Someone is going to deliver a truck full of concrete. There is a snowstorm going on, which I had been lost in at one point.

I am trying to convince my parents that this is a dream. I seem to be slipping from the couch into another dream, or dream level. I retain "lucidity" as I do so. Then I go back to the couch. I have a pair of pants that I think are too soft. I fill them with sawdust, and shake the sawdust out outside the back door. My mother thinks this is weird, but I explain that it will make the pants less slippery. I realize that that is not a normal thing to do, and see that it is more evidence that I am dreaming.

We go into another "level" of the dream. Now we are at Niagara Falls. We are looking around the place, and are in some kind of a gift shop. In one room is a lot of candy, and I consider buying some. However, up a sort of a walkway is another building, and one I have not seen in over ten years since the last time I was in Niagara Falls in real life. I think that this may be one of my only chances to see it for a while. And besides, it's part of the mission.

I walk up the ramp to the building. I know that it is just a dream, but I figure that it is drawn from memory, so there should at least be similarities. I don't really remember anything about the building in waking life, but I look around to take in as much detail as I can to compare.

Some confusion here. We do some things related to our mission, possibly going into another "level". There is the old guy in the hospital bed, and some girl. The girl is part of it, and has to do something that makes her so upset that she almost vomits. We explain to her what we are doing, and she feels a lot better. Still, she goes back to the bathroom as though she is going to vomit again. We stop her from doing this.

I think we return to the Niagara Falls level after this.
    8. Some Fragments

by , 02-11-2011 at 05:13 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
I haven't been journalling for a few days, and this in addition to staying up too late has caused my recall to begin to weaken again. I had a bunch of dreams the night before last, but I can only remember bits and pieces.

      02/09/11

I am at school. I am thinking about lucid dreaming, and decide to do a reality check. "How do I know if I am awake?" I ask myself. "I could be dreaming." I read a few lines of text on the powerpoint projector screen at the front of the class. Nothing unusual. I go back and read it again. Seems consistent. "Nose pinch RC has failed in the past," I think, "but reading text never fails. I must not be dreaming."

      02/10/11

I am at home, and also in the Fun House (in Uru). I am thinking of doing a hack, and contemplate what I should do. I don't think I am good enough, but people keep encouraging me so I decide to try something. In the end, I decide to make my avatar look like Teddy Roosevelt and show up in character.

      02/11/11

I am eating bologna. Lots and lots of bologna.

    9. Darn it!

by , 02-07-2011 at 04:02 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Failed RC

I am walking down a hallway in part of a much longer dream. This leads into a sort of place that is reminiscent of the food section of a fair. I recognize this as a dreamsign, and think that I had better do a reality check. I pinch my nose and try to breath. I can't but I try harder and for a little longer to be sure. I still can't breathe.

I think about trying to fly, but there are too many people around. I figure I would look silly trying to jump into the air, so I just decide to rely on the nose pinch RC.

Anyway, I continue walking in blissful ignorance down the hallway, and come to a set of stairs. Down these stairs is a little courtyard where supposedly I always go to get away from the crowded city. I don't remember it from real life, but I do know that there is something in my life that is like that place. It's a representation of something real. I think about going down to sit in the courtyard, but decide not to. There is a guy sitting down there on a picnic table. I look around, and see that there is graffiti all over the upper walls of the place. It detracts a little bit from the peacefullness, but I still like the courtyard.

    10. Lighten up, Captain Picard!

by , 02-02-2011 at 08:16 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Locutus of Borg

I am in a restaraunt somewhere, with my buddies from the Enterprise. I am one of the crew, I guess, but at the same time I know that Star Trek is a TV show. I have been away for a few days, and return to find that Captain Picard has been captured by the Borg, and rescued in my absence.

"Aww man," I say, "I always miss the Locutus episode. Well, I'll have to catch it the next time around. Now, let's see, if they show one episode a night, how many nights will it take to get through the whole series and back to Locutus?"

Captain Picard is sitting across the room glaring at me. "Hey Locutus!" I say, "how many episodes did you guys make?"

"This isn't anything to joke about," says Picard. "The Borg are a real threat, whether you think so or not." He proceeds to lecture me on the seriousness of our encounters with the Borg.

"Aww come on, Picard," I laugh, "lighten up, man! How come your so serious all the time? Can't you joke about anything?"

      Books

I am somewhere. I come across a bookstore. I guess it isn't usually open, but it is now so I go in to look around. I am thinking about buying an EReader, or I have one. Still, I want to look at the paper books too. There are room after room of books. In fact, it seems to be a flea market of all books, with multiple sellers in one building. I decide to look for the last of the Myst books - the Book of D'ni.

I go into the first bookstore and look through the science fiction/fantasy section. No luck. I go into the second bookstore.

"May I help you?" says the salesperson.
"Yes," I say, "I'm looking for the Book of D'ni. It's one of the Myst series."
"Well," she says, "if we had the book, it would be over here."

No luck over here either. I keep on looking.

    11. A jumble of events

by , 02-01-2011 at 04:27 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
Another one of those nights, apparently. I dreamed about everything from the Dukes of Hazzard to Star Trek to being chased by lions. Much of it seems to be jumbled up in trying to remember it though.

      Big City Dukes

We are watching the Dukes of Hazzard. The Duke boys are in a big city somewhere, out in front of a high rise hotel. I explain to the people watching it with me "this must be an episode where they go to the big city."

Roscoe appears high up on a balcony watching them. He is about to arrest them for something or other. But Luke has the great idea of convincing him that there is a criminal in the swimming pool. He writes the name of the criminal on the edge of the pool. It starts with a "W" but the rest of it is a bit hard to read. Roscoe leans over to read it, and of course falls into the swimming pool. Bo and Luke take off running.

Meanwhile, Roscoe is clinging to the edge of the pool. "I can't swim!" he gasps, trying to keep his grip. Still, he inches his way along the edge trying to read the name that Luke wrote. Fortunately for him, somebody shows up in time to help him out of the pool to safety...

...We are walking in the big city (the whole Dukes thing seems to be over). We come to a castle. Or rather, it used to be a castle, but is now just integrated into the city. There is a row of shops in what used to be the keep, and the area surrounded by the moat is now sort of a downtown area. In order to get to this part, we have to climb down into a ramp that goes beneath the level of the rest of the town. It is a steep slope and I have a difficulty getting down in.

      Lions

(Maybe this is still part of the dream above. I don't know.) I need to get somewhere. In order to get there I have to cross a plain, much like a veldt in Africa. I see a large animal in the bushes near me that looks like a lion. I think to myself that it can't be a lion, since this is the US. It must be a large dog.

The lion gets up from behind the bush, and starts to walk towards me. Yep, it's a lion allright. I walk quickly towards a steep ridge of some kind. I dash up the hill, and jump down the other side, safe from the lion. But there's another lion on this side! It starts towards me, and then runs into a clear plastic wall. I now see that the lions are kept in these plastic compounds. They look like they are running free, but they really aren't.

      Star Trek Dream

(I seem to be unable to remember the first part of this dream at the moment.) I go downstairs to follow him [Picard, maybe? I don't quite remember.] He jumps through a portal at the bottom of the steps. I try to follow, but can't get the portal to work. It's the shape I don't understand. It appears to be made of a metal of some kind, that you have to bend into an opening and set in the right spot for it to work. Because he was a shapeshifter [?] I can't see it quite right. I bend it into what it looked like to me, which was twisted metal of some kind.

He shows up again, and explains the trick. I look at the twisted metal in my hand and laugh. Then he takes it, presses a button or a switch in the chimney, and a hole opens up. He bends the metal to match the hole and jumps through.

I am standing in the room, having just seem "him" vanish again. I get a wand of some sort. With this I can make lights go out. I have a bunch of stuff that I have collected. It is sort of like a computer game. I click on things that I have that have light. The lights dim. But they keep coming back before I can extinguish all of the light. I wonder what will happen when I do?

Deanna Troi is watching me, and Tasha Yar is sitting on the couch behind me. I sit down next to her and put my arm around her. She seems to be unhappy, and I try to make her feel better. We both have something in common apparently. "We both know what it's like to be tortured," I say.

I leave the building, because my parents are there to pick me up. At the same time, we are returning because I forgot something or they wanted me to check and make sure the doors are locked (or something). I go back in, and want to go back to the living room where Tasha is. I don't know if she is still there or not.

      School work/restaraunt

I am sitting in class. It is a class I am taking for fun, so the school work doesn't matter so much to me. Still, when it comes time to copy weird phrases (like "Take Oyster Sea" and a picture of a buoy) I am a little concerned because I didn't copy it into my notebook. Instead, when the passed the sheet around with the phrases, I simply wrote another phrase after the one at the top. I thought this is what you were supposed to do, but I was wrong. When the sheet comes back to me I hurry to copy the phrases into my notebook. While I am doing this, a pretty girl in front of me starts complaining about her throat.

"It's so dry, and I feel pretty bad," she says. "I have this cough, too."

"That's what you said last week," the teacher says disapprovingly.

"I know," she says. "It seems to happen whenever I am in this class."

"Maybe you hate being here," the teacher says, getting angry now. "If you don't like this class, then stop pretending to be sick and drop it. I'm tired of you coming in here acting so sick every single day!"

All this time I have been trying to concentrate on copying the weird phrases (which I can't read). Now I lift my head up.

"It could be allergies," I say, "especially if you get it every time you are in this classroom."

I contemplate buying out the other shares and owning the restaurant myself. (What, did I miss something? How did we get here? I don't know) I ask my boss what he would sell the business for. I know he wants to "get out from under it". He says he'll sell it for $500,000. I wonder if it would be a good investment. People buy semi-trucks as an investment. I think about that while I root around under the kitchen sink. "I'm paying for a truck driving education" says a future trucker, "it's an investment."
    12. Smoking Grandfather

by , 02-01-2011 at 01:33 AM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
I have a vague memory of doing a reality check during a dream, and counting only 9 fingers. I can't remember anything else about that one.

      The Fashion Show

I am at my old high school. This building is a lot bigger though. There is a fashion show going on, in which there are a lot of nice looking girls. I spend some time hanging out with them, and it becomes some kind of computer program where I complete certain tasks to get points. For example, I talk to a girl and get an amount of points, then I take her out and get some more points. Eventually I have enough points to "buy" a girlfriend. Oh yeah, the "points" are also pickled jalapeno peppers, if that makes any sense at all.

After the flirting/dating/computer game/ jalapenos/ experience, I go to find a bathroom. There is one down the hall on my left. I look at the sign to see if it is the men's or women's, but it is difficult to read. I can see the word "men's" I think. I walk in, and enter the area with stalls. An older woman comes walking out, and looks at me funny. Realizing my mistake, I quickly leave. Examining the sign on my way out, I see that it actually says "women's" but the "wo" part is wearing off.

      Smoking Grandfather

We go to visit my grandfather. He has a lung ailment, but has taken up smoking. He seems to think that chain smoking will help him feel better. We try to convince him that it is suicidal for him to do this, but he claims the cigarettes are harmless. He offers my brother and myself a smoke.

Walking around the top of some mall, my mother and I discuss why my grandfather thinks smoking would make him feel better. I say it is becuase nicotine numbs the nerve endings in his lungs, making them feel better.

I try to convince my grandfather to stop, but instead he just stops taking his pills.
    13. Drinking Contest and other odd things

by , 01-30-2011 at 03:53 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      The Drinking Contest

I am in a Dairy Queen. They are having an advertizement for new treats in their freezer (I mean the advertizement is in the freezer; it's a live action commercial).

"You've seen all these old treats" says the narrator. "Remember when this was new?" They show some things like an ice cream cake and a Dilly Bar, as well as some frozen canned whipped cream I have never seen before. "But now it's just the same old same old. Well, there's a new treat in town!" The other things are pushed aside, and a giant cake is dropped down, taking their place. It is green, and covered in lots of icing. Upon it's being sliced open, it is found to be filled with frozen coconut filling.

"Just in time for the Super Bowl, it's a -- Day Cake! [the -- was some name like McNabb, I don't think it was him but it was a celtic name famous in football] It is now being offered at a great price. Or, you can win this cake for free! All you have to do is be here on McNabb's Day (I guess it is some sort of holiday) and drink beer! That's right, you drink beer for 13 hours. Here's the thing - you have to be drinking beer the whole time, and no bathroom breaks can be taken. If you're still here at the end, you get the cake for free!"

A few people seem to be interested in this deal. Next to me is a table of really good looking girls.

"Heck," says one of them, "We'll just wait here until McNabb's Day starts. It's just an hour or so."

I sit down next to her, and put my arm around her. For some reason my mother shows up and sits on the other side of her. The girls begin talking about how much they like to drink, and how great it will be to have free beer all day long. They seem to think drinking constantly for 13 hours is easy.

I start talking to my mother, loud enough so that they can overhear. "What do you think would happen to someone who drank beer constantly for 13 hours?" I say.

"I don't know," says my mother, "but it can't be good".

"I would think you'd get alcohol poisoning," I say. The girls seem to take no heed. I pull the girl next to me a little closer, and give her a hug. I am honestly worried about her. "Here is my prediction. By this time tomorrow night there will be at least one alcohol related death because of this contest."

"I think you're right," says my mother.

I now see in my mind's eye the scene of an accident, and someone being loaded into an airplane.

      Strange Goings-on at my Grandparents'

We are having a family get together at my grandparents' house. It is getting to be late at night, and my brother goes back to bed. My aunt decides to play a trick on him, and changes into a bikini top. She undoes the strings at the bottom, so it looks as though she is in the process of taking it off. Then she goes into my brother's bedroom, pretending to be a strange woman who wandered in from the street.

      Fixing the Computer

(This may have been a continuation of the last dream, or not. I don't quiet remember. It's one of those that isn't so coherent.)

Bobcats never let go once they have hold of you. My little cat thinks it's a bobcat at times, but at other times it is just like a kitten. I pet it, but then someone makes it think it's a bobcat. It grabs my hand with it's teeth and claws, getting a wild look in its eyes. I start singing to it, treating it like a little kitten again. It let's go of my hand.

Now somebody has the cat on his shoulder, and is climbing and running along the top of a moving train. It is a daredevil.

Now I am in a room somewhere. There are lots of children walking by on a field trip. They have to line up at the door, and they set their books down in front of me. I look at them, and see they are doing the same thing I did when I was their age.

A telephone rings in the room I am in. A woman answers the phone. "It's for you," she says, "it's Client #9".

"Client #9?" I say, "uh, that doesn't sound right." I pick up the telephone. I should have known. It's my uncle, who likes to pretend he is weird people when calling family and freinds. He asks if I'm busy, and if I can help work on my Grandfather's computer.

Now I am at my Grandfather's house with his computer. It has a small problem, but Dell wants over $1,000 to fix it.

"$1,000?!" I say, "at the most, you'll just have to get a new CPU, or maybe just a new motherboard."

Now my brother goes to bed. I have my laptop running, and it's been running all day. I decide I had better shut it down.

      Working for Rush

I get a new job, working for Rush Limbaugh. He is explaining how the job works.

"When I'm on the mic," he says, "I don't know whether someone is doing their job or not. I don't go around and see how much or how well people are working. What I do is look at their desk. If your desk is clean, you are a good employee."

I look around the office. Everybody has a nice, perfectly clean desk. I sit down at my desk, and try to organize my things to look nice as well.
    14. New Boss at the Greenhouse

by , 01-29-2011 at 04:36 PM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
Went to bed at about 1:00am, and took some melatonin to help me sleep. I remember having many dreams, but have a hard time recalling them. The following is the longest coherent stretch I can remember:

      New Boss

I am working at the Greenhouse again. I walk in the door, and I see that our boss is there. In waking life, my boss was a big jerk. Here, however, it is Rand Miller, the creator of Myst. I wave hello, and walk up to the group of fellow workers. Rand starts to give orders, the way my old boss used to, and tells me to follow him. We walk down a narrow aisle of plants, and he shows me a spot where he wants me to wait. He points up into the sky outside, at either a large star or a small moon.

"Line up your sight from this pole," he points to a support for the greenhouse roof, "to that star".

He goes back into a back room somewhere, and begins fiddling with controls. I begin to hear a mechanical grating sound, and the sky outside of the tent begins to change. It changes colors, fading from the night sky to a lighter blue, then to a reddish pink as though the sun were rising.

"OK, it's changing!" I call to him, thinking that it was my duty to let him know if I saw anything. Then I realize I have lost my line of sight with the star, and try to get back. Rand continues to run the machine, changing the sky outside. I think to myself how working for Cyan is a whole lot of fun. Apparently I am now working at one of Cyan's offices. Originally I thought it was their headquarters, but their headquarters is in Spokane Washington and we are in New Mexico...

... I walk down a hallway, and sit down in a chair. Barbara Eden, who played Jeannie on I Dream of Jeannie, sits in a chair next to me. There are a few of us sitting in chairs in the hallway, and we do something that I can't remember.

Don't know if this was a lucid or not (fragment)

I am somewhere. I am up high, I think. I am shouting "more lucidity!" and "more vividness". Meanwhile, the landscape gets brighter and more vivid around me.

Note: The above fragment followed a visualization I did as I was falling asleep. An obvious incubation success, and possibly a successful MILD, but I don't remember if it was really lucid or not.

Also, the appearance of Jeannie in my dream is interesting because this morning my parents were talking about their upcoming vacation. They are planning a visit to Cocoa Beach.
    15. President Obama and Skinny Dipping on the Job

by , 01-29-2011 at 01:03 AM (The Labrynth of the Mind)
      Just another day at work?

I am at my former job as a Park Ranger. My coworker and I are on patrol, and we come to a launch ramp at one of our lakes. President Obama is there, fiddling with the lock on a gate that leads to the water. We get out, and get after him because no one is allowed through the gate. I forget what his excuse is, but the other ranger and I believe that he has come back to clean up some evidence. Apparently, there has been a murder committed here, and we think Obama did it.

Walking back from our encounter with the President, we notice how hot the sun is, and how much work this has all been. We decide to go swimming. There is no beach here, just a launch ramp and parking lot. We go into the water anyway, at the edge of the concrete. Not wanting to get our clothes wet, we go skinny dipping. I can see fish swimming around us, and the moss covered rocks at the bottom. The water is very refreshing, but we realize that we are supposed to be working so we decide to get back to our vehicle. Walking naked through the busy parking lot, I see a white SUV approaching us. It appears to have government plates, and I'm afraid it is another ranger, or even worse our boss.

We dash across the lot and jump into the vehicle. It turns out the SUV was not a government vehicle at all.

"Can you imagine if one of our coworkers really did come along, and wanted to talk to us now?" asks my coworker, laughing.
"Yeah, or what if that was our boss?" I say. The one I am referring to was a woman, and a no-nonsense type of person. We both crack up thinking about her reaction upon looking in the window of the Jeep. We pull away, and I put my clothes back on (my fellow ranger apparently sees no reason to get dressed again).

      Skydiving with Annabelle (what, again?)

I am "skydiving" with Annabelle once again. We are down by the local hardware store this time, not in Uru. We get up to the top of a high platform, and she jumps off. There are a couple of other people with us, and they jump off too. Annabelle is now laying on a bed at the base of the platform, and wants me to jump on her (yeah, I know there's an innuendo here). I am a little afraid to do so, as it is pretty far down. I inch down a ladder at the edge of the platform, until I am not too far off the ground. I'm about ready to jump, but now I'm afraid of hurting her if I do so.

From here on out the dream makes less coherent sense.

      Rand's Computer

I am in a big fancy house somewhere. It is Rand's house apparently, and he tells me to check his email. I am a little bewildered at first, because I can't find the email program on his computer screen. Eventually I do find it right on the desktop after some hunting, and open it up. The inbox is full of female models, sending him riskee pictures. Somebody explains to me that Rand is also a professional in some kind of business involving these pictures. I am not so sure.

Upon closing the mailbox, I look at the computer desktop. He has succeeded in getting a Desktop KI to work, and I decide that I need to get one too. The KI is in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
