    Longest Lucid Dream-2 mins.

Last night I had my longest lucid dream ever! It was about 2 mins long, which most of my Lucid Dreams last less than a minute. So, I won some things and I learned some things. I have been practicing taking more control over a dream by shouting, "No!" whenever the dream starts taking back control. Whenever I went Lucid in the past, I would focus on my hands to gain clarity in a dream but after going lucid for a few seconds, I would just go through the motions of a dream but doing it consciously. So I told myself that in order for me to have more control over a dream, I would tell the dream, "No, I don't want to do this," no matter what was happening in a dream. For example...

Last night, I went Lucid out in my parent's driveway. To focus, I stared at my hands for a little bit. Then I look left and I look right. Last time, the dream took me down the dream to the left. But this time, I decided that I was going to go to the right. So, I start slowly trying to head down the street to the right, taking my time. My goal was to make the dream last longer and just take in my surroundings. The dream kept trying to make me run down the street, and whenever I realized I was moving faster than I wanted to, I shouted, "No! Slower!" and I would slow down to a walk again. It was just a way to make sure I stayed focused and stayed in control in my LD. I was happy that it worked and it also helped me stay lucid longer.

I remember I wanted to go to Cherry Blossom Lake, but I've never teleported in my dream before. So I asked the dream, "How do I create a portal?" A little voice responded in my head, but it was so soft, I couldn't hear it. I asked it to repeat itself, but it was still too soft. I asked one more time and I could barely make out, "You need a cane." So, I created myself a cane to walk with. "Now what?" I ask. It tried giving me more instructions, but the voice was so soft, I couldn't make out the words. So, I just asked, "Can't you come show me instead? I can't understand what you're saying." So the dream sent Jennifer Garner, dressed beautifully in a glittery green dress (like a personal Fairy Godmother) to help me out, but along with her came a horde of other DC's. It was like a block party. There was popcorn and hot dogs and drinks! Everyone was there to learn how to create a portal, so I didn't get the personal one-on-one training with Jennifer Garner that I wanted. She went over some basic instructions, but because there were so many people demanding her attention, I couldn't ask her for more details. I finally found another lady--heavy-set, black--that gave me details on the instructions. She told me that I had to draw two vertical S's--SS--and two horizontal S's over that (to create a wiggly-like tic-tac-toe board) and then mentally focus on the image.

By that time, I'd even forgotten why I wanted the portal, or even what these S's were supposed to be for, but I was there to follow the instruction, so I found a mirror to draw over and I created the pattern and tried to focus on the image. As I was looking at myself in the mirror, I remember thinking, "Man, this LD is lasting a very long time! I'm surprised nothing has woken me up yet!" All of a sudden, I hear my boyfriend fart in his sleep beside me, and I wake up. -_-

      Gratulations

May i suggest you one thing?
i find it interesting that your "dream" or subconscious or what ever want you to go "left/down the street" apparently. i would follow and see what is there. you should still stay mindful and go slowly like you did but i think it is not a coincidence that you subliminally want to go there. or do you might have something to hide or fear?

I'm not sure about the fear. I've just noticed that whenever I become Lucid, it's only for a few seconds after I do an RC to gain focus. Then I get swept away by whatever the dream wants to do, which causes me to lose lucidity or lose control of the dream because I'm no longer actively participating in the dream at that point. I'm just along for the ride, but conscious about it. So I thought that if I learned to stop and analyze what I'm doing before I'm doing it (which is actually a problem I have in waking sometimes, lol) then I'll have more control over the dream.

I appreciate the advice though. I had another LD last night, so I'm getting somewhere with this.
