Non-Lucid Dreams
Last night, I had a surprisingly vivid dream. I was playing the "new" Zelda game on the Wii (I have no idea what it was called, but it's not a real game IWL). I was playing it on my TV in my room, though, so it should have logically been an N64 game (only console in my room; the Wii is in the living room), but it was a Wii game. It started out in the Shadow Temple, which reminded me a lot of the Shadow Temple in Wind Waker (wait... Wind Waker doesn't even have a Shadow Temple). I soon found out that Link could transform into a wolf, like in Twilight Princess. After hearing him scream upon returning to Hylian form, I decided I wouldn't transform unless absolutely necessary (there was no way to skip the transformation like in Majora's Mask). I kept playing and soon found Zelda. She was unconscious. I brought her out of the temple, and she woke up. She had a bag of something that looked like pot (I think). She said it was actually cocaine and suggested putting it in coffee to make the coffee taste better. The only option for replying to her was to refuse. Then, a message popped up that said something about the Swedish not supporting the use of cocaine (as the game was apparently made by Mojang). I somehow ended up back at the title screen. I turned off the game and decided to watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (even though I don't have Netflix on the TV in my room).
I had a dream last night that my friend Lizz and I were listening to Zelda songs (from the game soundtracks) on my iPod. I was trying to guess the songs, I think. Also, I think we were on a train for some reason. Anyway, one song came on, and I said, "You can skip this; it's from a cutscene." The song was The Revival's Completion from the Spirit Tracks OST (i.e., the part where Malladus is revived). I looked at the iPod and realized that it wasn't anything from Spirit Tracks; it was music from the new Zelda game (not Skyward Sword; it was a Wii remake of the original).
I can remember three dreams from last night. In the first, I was playing Sims 3. My Sim (a woman, by the way) was trapped in one room of the house. There were no doors in the room she was in (for those who don't know, the game has a top-down view, so I could see her and everything perfectly fine). Suddenly, I was given the option to allow her to fly so she could get out of the room she was trapped in. I clicked "No", but she started flying anyway, so I tried to quit the game. For some reason, there was no option to quit without saving, but I really did NOT want to save. I can barely remember the next dream. I remember going up into this treehouse where there were these ghost girls. There were three, I think. It seemed totally normal at the time. In the third dream, I was at home. My mom told me it was almost time for bed. I reminded her that I'd only just gotten up. She informed me that I'd gone back to bed. I figured out that that must have meant I'd slept all day long, though I didn't even remember going to bed. Then, she said something weird. "That's just a typical schooler day; if you were very hungry, you don't remember anything," she told me. I still wasn't convinced I'd lost my memory of the entire day. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 7:45 (presumably PM). I somehow also inferred that it was April 12, which was (apparently) yesterday's date! I'd somehow jumped back in time! Well, that, or... I could be dreaming... As soon as I started to suspect it was a dream, I woke up, unfortunately.
I know, I should be posting more dreams and details here each day. I guess I should try to get up earlier so I can actually update my dream journal BEFORE camp tomorrow. I'm actually doing two summer camps this week - Earth Camp, taking up most of my day, and then music theory camp in the evening. Anyway, since I've been so busy between both camps, last night, I dreamt that I was doing complicated chord analysis... at Earth Camp. I also had a few completely unrelated dreams, one of which included a TARDIS replica. So, yeah, I'll try to get up earlier tomorrow.
I could remember five dreams when I woke up this morning. Five! That's got to be a new record for me! Anyway, I'm not going to bother writing down all five... if I can even remember them anymore. I'm just going with the one I remember best. I was playing The Sims 3. I had a pregnant Sim waiting to go up the Duquesne Incline. I was trying to get her husband to come; he was at home, hosting a pool party. I was trying to figure out how to get all the guests to leave so he could go meet his wife. Suddenly, she went into labour. I tried selecting the husband and then clicking on her to get the option for him to take her to the hospital, but that option didn't appear.
All I remember from last night is a few weird dream fragments. I'll try to keep them in order, though I can't really remember what order they were in. 1. I tried to poop on my bed for some reason (wtf?), but I couldn't. Then, I found a bag of fruit in my closet. 2. I was at this weird water park place with a talking seal. Crossing the path was this "road", a channel of water that was a few inches deep. Going across THAT was a track that looked sort of like a part of a waterslide but flat. The water on this was less than an inch deep, so it was used for crossing the "road". The seal wanted to cross the "road" by going across this track-thing in his boat (which I thought was kind of silly, seeing as I could WALK across this "road" without even using the crossing-track-thing). He then expected me to pay for his boat, since he'd rented it. The rental cost was 25 cents. I reached into my pocket and found two pennies, but I was determined to get the other 23 cents he needed. 3. I was on some kind of field trip, I think. I was in the back of a group with a friend. She was texting someone, and the two of us were talking about the guy she was texting. The teacher guy (or whoever was in charge of the group) told us to stop talking about him (he said the guy's name, but I can't remember what it was). We continued to talk about the guy she was texting anyway, but we started whispering so the teacher wouldn't hear us. He told us off again, but, this time, he told us to stop talking about Clinton. We burst out laughing because we weren't.
I was playing The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Well... it was supposed to be Wind Waker. I thought it was. Anyway, I was somehow playing as Zelda, but she was wearing Link's outfit (I know there was a reason, but I can't remember why). Soon, the dream switched to first-person, like I was in the game. The first dungeon of the game was a school, and it was very easy to get lost. Also, I had apparently teamed up with the Mane Six, who were with me now. There were hints as to who the first boss was. One of the hints had something to do with Girl Scouts, and the other was that she "hates kindergarten". For some reason, I briefly suspected Rainbow Dash, but I doubted it was her because she was on my team. Suddenly, I was back in my room (and out of the game) My mom told me that she knew who the first boss was - Bekah. All of a sudden, all I could see was the image of her against a white background. I recognized her as one of the NPCs back on Outset Island. Actually, she looked exactly like a six-year-old girl from my church, who is also named Bekah. She even had an older sister named Hannah, just like Bekah from church does.
I can only remember fragments from last night. In one dream, I was watching the Olympics. However, instead of all the Olympic athletes, they had local sports teams (for various sports). I kept guessing which team would play next, and I kept getting it right. In the other dream, I was checking Facebook, and I saw the same thing posted by two different pages, Enderman and Hipster Link. EDIT: I just remembered a fragment from another dream. I was visiting a zoo, and a gorilla picked a flower and gave it to me. It was a dandelion.

In my first dream last night, I was playing a Zelda game on the Wii. I don't know what game it was; it wasn't one that actually exists. When I say "playing", I mean I was watching the game from a third-person point of view (so my entire field of vision was what was displayed on the screen), but I was still aware that I was using a Wii remote (this is similar to how I usually play video games in dreams, except I'm not usually aware of the controller). Anyway, I remember Link being able to shrink down (and return to normal size) at will, like in Minish Cap, except he could do it anywhere. I (remember, I'm playing the game and, therefore, controlling Link) used that to get into this building where I was in this room full of people. Suddenly, I was actually in the game myself! And, no, I wasn't Link (I have no idea what happened to him); I was myself. I had to play Epona's Song on the ocarina for some reason. Strangely, though this seemed normal at the time, instead of covering the holes and blowing into the ocarina, I had to press buttons to play the notes. For some reason, I kept trying to play the notes for Saria's Song (though I thought I was trying to play Epona's Song), but I kept messing up. This man approached me and I told him that I couldn't seem to get the notes right. We ended up talking about Legend of Zelda for a little while (he was a Zelda fan, too), and I forgot about the ocarina entirely. Soon, I saw my parents arrive, so I said goodbye and told him I enjoyed talking with him, then I left with my parents. Next thing I knew, we were driving through the village where I live (well, I actually live in a town just outside of the village itself, but I used to live in the village). The man was in the car with us, which was unexpected, since I'd said goodbye to him and left. Anyway, we were driving along South Main Street, going past the power substation, with the bridge just up ahead. It didn't occur to me in the dream, but my mom may have been driving us to our old house (where I lived until I was seven), as that was literally just a few houses away. The dream ended before we got close enough to see our house, though. (Note: I'm sure that bridge will forever remain in my memory, along with the "beep beep" of reversing trailer trucks. You see, the bridge could be seen from my old house. Even though there was a warning sign stating the height limit, many truck drivers would ignore the sign and try to drive under the bridge anyway... which usually resulted in them subsequently getting stuck under it. This, of course, was followed by the high-pitched beeping as they reversed out to take a detour. I lived in that house until I was seven (or eight, maybe; I can't remember exactly), and I have seen many trucks get stuck under that bridge.) I woke up after that and decided to try DEILD. I quickly felt myself being pulled into another dream. Unfortunately, even though I know I'm not supposed to move during DEILD, my half-asleep brain decided it would be perfectly okay to roll over as long as I didn't get up. That completely ruined my DEILD attempt. I quickly went back to sleep anyway and had another non-lucid dream. In this dream, I was with my friend Lizz. We were in her backyard, but it didn't look like her backyard - or anywhere I'd recognize, for that matter - in real life. So there we were, as well as three little girls, around seven or eight years old. I can't remember who the girls were, but I have a feeling the group may have included her little sister and/or some of the girls around that age at my church. Anyway, we were in "teams" (i.e., Lizz and I vs. the other girls), and each time had a "fort". Our fort was "defensive", as it was a shed with a wire fence around it. The girls' fort was "fun", as it was a colourful playground set with a treehouse (i.e., a swingset and slide with an attached treehouse). I'm guessing the "forts" were for some kind of game, though the dream skipped ahead to the next morning before anything much really happened. I'd apparently spent the night at her house, since I was still there the next morning. We went to the dining room (again, it looked different than it does IRL) for breakfast. She started asking me what I thought about some video game that she'd assumed I'd played (I forgot the name of it, though). When I told her I hadn't played it, she decided to show it to me. I guess the dream ended before she had a chance to show me, since the next thing I remember is from the next dream. I was playing the "drums", though it actually looked like a keyboard (a piano keyboard, not a computer keyboard), not a drum kit. For some reason, the drumsticks I was using were short and made of black plastic. I think the "drums" may have actually been a keyboard, as I had to set it to 101 (first percussion setting on a MIDI keyboard) to get the right sounds. The next thing I knew, I was at home, and my parents were there. I put the drumsticks down on the table. It turned out I was supposed to have three more (I only had two), so I had to go outside to find the rest. Instead of just three, I ended up finding a lot more and setting them all down on the table.
I went to bed around midnight (kinda late for me) and woke up at some point during the night due to a thunderstorm. I fell back asleep not long after it passed and had the first dream I remember from last night. It was about the Doctor (the Eleventh Doctor, to be specific). I was watching in third-person, by the way. Anyway, he went into this weird, cartoon-like place. It became realistic fairly quickly, and then there was some epic battle I can barely recall between the Doctor and some guy I'm assuming was a bad guy. I woke up again at 6:30 and decided to go back to sleep. This time, I dreamed that I WAS the Doctor... and I was just outside at my church. I went around to the side of the building (which is actually my friend's backyard; she's the pastor's daughter and lives next door to the church. Their backyard essentially doubles as church property) to find the TARDIS and Amy Pond. I found the TARDIS right where I expected and entered it. Unlike on the show, it was NOT bigger on the inside. Anyway, for some reason, I got mad at Amy (who had apparently been allowed to fly the TARDIS) for leaving it out in the rain (I'm not sure why; besides, it was barely even raining). (It's not really surprising my mind would dream up something like that, seeing as I went to church yesterday and then watched Doctor Who later. Well, it is a bit odd that I was the Doctor, though... I'm almost ALWAYS myself in dreams.) I woke up to find it was only 6:45. I drifted off to sleep yet again and woke up without recalling any dreams... or so I thought. I noticed a big Pikachu bead sprite on my wall and couldn't remember it ever being there, so I looked at my hand to see if I was dreaming. I counted five fingers, concluded that I wasn't dreaming, and picked up my iPod to check the time. Well, whatever the time was, it wasn't 103:53. Now, I knew I that I WAS dreaming after all. After the two attempts it took to unlock my iPod (it glitched up the first time), I noticed that I had some apps I don't have in real life as well as a different background. The background was bright orange. Upon closer inspection, I realized it had a picture with rather a lot of text over the top (also in orange, but in a different shade). I tried to read what it said but discovered that it was all in gibberish. I put my iPod down and sat up, ready to try some dream control. Despite having full (or, at the very least, a lot of) control over myself, it didn't occur to me at the time that I had immediate LD goals (i.e., completing the TOTM and meeting my dream guide), so I just decided to do the first thing that came to mind. I closed my eyes. 'When I open my eyes, I will be in... Skyloft!' I thought to myself, naming the first fictional place that came to mind. I opened my eyes, a bit disappointed that I was still in my room. I remembered that some people unintentionally wake up when they close their eyes, so I checked my iPod again to make sure I was still dreaming. It still said the time was 103:53. I was still dreaming. Being one who likes to sleep in in the mornings, I laid back down and closed my eyes, finding myself back in reality shortly after.
I'm sure I could remember three dreams when I woke up. I can only remember two now, though. I haven't even been up long. Oh well. Anyway, on to the first one! I was on some sort of "mission" that involved me walking to Montreal and back. That's all it was. It supposedly wasn't far if I just went in a straight line. I went outside and followed a gravel path that went through my backyard (even though the path doesn't exist in real life). At one point, I fell and scraped my knee, and it actually did hurt a little. I got up and kept going. I went as far to where I was about parallel with the edge of the neighbors' yard, figured that was close enough, and went back. It turned out I hadn't gone far enough. Anyway, when I came back, I was in some public bathroom instead of my house. There was a girl there (who I apparently knew somehow) who looked like my friend Libby (she wasn't her, though) but acted more like me. She didn't seem to like me for some reason. (I'm not entirely sure how far Montreal is from here, but it's definitely not close. I'd imagine it'd take several hours by car, though. It's also roughly northeast, not directly east, and you can't get there by just going in a straight line from here unless you plan on crossing Lake Ontario somehow.) In the other dream, I went to the local high school to find two of my friends, Giana and Emma, who I thought were outside the school (none of us go to that school IRL, though). They weren't there, and then I remembered they were at the elementary school. I ran along a path (which, like the path in the other dream, doesn't exist in real life) to get to the elementary school. I found them in a tent outside. I went in the tent and found that they were playing with Barbies, so I was a bit disappointed because I didn't want to play Barbies with them. Then, they left the tent, but I had to stay inside because the tent was really light and would blow away in the wind if nobody was inside it to weigh it down. (Note: aside from the setting, this is actually pretty normal, which is probably why I didn't acknowledge that I was dreaming. We all go to the same church, and we tend to gravitate toward each other after getting our food after the service. Sometimes (not usually), I'll find them playing with Barbies (they're a few years younger than me), which tends to be disappointing for me, as I've outgrown them and they apparently haven't. Usually, though, we either just chat or play something we all enjoy.)
I was playing a Zelda game (Twilight Princess) on the Wii. I was running around somewhere (some sort of farm or something) in wolf form. I went under a fence, where I was confronted with two shadow beasts on the other side. They were bigger and more formidable than in Twilight Princess, though. Fortunately, they paid no attention to me. I spotted the golden wolf and switched to Hylian form for the hidden skills training with the Hero's Shade. This drew the shadow beasts' attention to me. Luckily, they didn't have time to get to me. Now, this is where things get bizarre. The scene changed to the inside of a candy shop. The owner was a man with short, black hair and a suit. And everything was uber-kawaii chibified to the extreme, like something off the infant section of Yahoo Kids Korea. I think the kawaii desu fairy decided to pay a visit to a dream where she didn't belong. Seriously, the guy's head was bigger than the rest of his body! "I don't remember this from last time," I said, referring to my first (and only) playthrough of Ocarina of Time. Then, I realized I was holding a Wii remote and remembered that I was playing Twilight Princess. Being still on my first playthrough, I assumed that was just a normal part of the game.
(Note: My dad is alive and in good health IRL. I have no idea why I would dream that he was dead.) Last night, I had a dream that my mom and I went to the cemetery where my dad was. Well, it wasn't really a cemetery, it was more of a futuristic-looking room with the walls lined with freezers filled with containers holding the ashes of dead people. Anyway, we came in, and we were greeted by a strange man with three black-and-white cats. He starts explaining to us how he decides where everyone goes, who goes next to who (something to do with English and French people, that's all I remember), etc. There really wasn't much organization to his system. I get bored of listening to his explanation and decide to go find my dad myself. I end up finding the pieces of some board game and tell my mom. She helped me put the pieces back in the box, which happened to be next to the container that supposedly held my dad's ashes. Suddenly, my dad was there in the room with us. He said something about not knowing what's going on. I asked him what happened. He told me that, before he "died", he had concluded that he wasn't in Australia and, therefore, must have been on some alien planet. I don't remember if he told us any more about that. I started to think he might still be alive (as well as also getting the suspicion that he was just acting and this was all staged or something). I checked his pulse and exclaimed, "They're buried you alive!" Then, I woke up.
I remembered four more dreams last night. I don't really remember the order of these (save for the last one), but I'll try to put them in the order I think they happened in. 1. I don't really remember how this one started. There were some bad guys or something. They were trying to escape from this place where they were trapped, I think. I was watching this in third-person, by the way. They made some sort of homemade flying machine (a chair with a propeller, or something like that) and escaped, so they were in the air. They were flying alongside two zeppelins; if I remember correctly, they'd actually ejected out of one of them. I'm pretty sure the zeppelins appeared because, yesterday evening, I went to see a concert IRL, and the guy playing (a local musician, my dad knows him somehow) did play a couple of Led Zeppelin songs... two, to be specific, which I'm sure corresponds to the two zeppelins that appeared in the dream. 2. I was at the library for the teen writing group (which I do attend IRL). For some reason, though, we were going to be singing instead of writing. When I saw the sheet music, I recognized the song as Largo, and I hoped I would be assigned the Soprano II part. 3. I was in my room with my friend Giana, showing her this online flash game on the computer. I told her it was kind of like the Super Smash Bros. games but in the water (i.e., you fight in the water, and whoever gets knocked out of the water loses). I started the game and realized I was kind of right; it was like Super Smash Bros., but you couldn't get out of the water once you fell in, so the fight would gradually shift to be in the water. (After this, I woke up, but fell asleep after a little while and had another dream.) 4. This dream really stands out for some reason. There were several of us, and we needed to get onto the Thruway for some reason. We didn't have a car, by the way. There were four lanes, but only one was open to us; the other three had traffic going the other way. For some reason, we couldn't all go together, so we had to figure out how to get through. We decided that four of the others would walk together. That left two of us - me and some girl I apparently knew somehow. She got on a motorcycle, and I knew I was supposed to follow her. I got on the motorcycle I apparently had with me and followed her. Even though I didn't know how to ride a motorcycle, it was surprisingly easy. When we left the Thruway, we ended up at a cemetery. It was supposedly the cemetery where my granddad was buried, though it looked a lot different than it does IRL (and it was evidently in a different location, as I don't remember somehow ending up in England...). Suddenly, it got cold and windy and started raining; fortunately, I had an umbrella with me. Then, it started getting dark. It got dark quickly, to the point where it was pitch black and I couldn't see a thing. Once it was dark enough that I couldn't see anymore, I woke up. I wish I could remember who that girl was. She seemed important somehow. I may be wrong here, but I think it's possible I met my dream guide last night. I can hardly remember what she looked like, though - I'm terrible at recalling the appearance of DCs, unless they're either somebody I know IRL or characters I'm familiar with.
I swear I could remember four dreams when I woke up this morning. Now I can only remember three. Oh well. In the first dream, I was in Arizona. I was excited because I'd never been to Arizona before, and I was surprised that the climate was similar to how it was during the summer back home (New York). Well, it was in the area we were (yes, there were other people with me, but I can't remember who they were now). From where I was standing, there was a desert clearly visible just up ahead. There wasn't even any sort of smooth transition; it was just an area with grass and trees, then, suddenly, desert. We went into the desert, but it was really hot and hard to go on, so we turned back. In the next dream, my friend Lizz and I were in some sort of building somewhere. I'm not sure what it was. It was, like, an airport or something. I'm not really sure. I just know it had a road going through it (and, yes, a couple cars did go by), which doesn't make sense. Anyway, we saw some people eating sushi, so we decided to go find where in the building we could get some. Then, we heard sirens from fire trucks outside, so we ran outside. We saw my mom's car pulling up into the parking lot, so we decided to go. Then, we heard someone announce that they had the sirens going off to tell people to be quiet because there was too much noise inside, apparently. In my third dream, my cat attacked my legs. I was bleeding a fair amount, but it didn't hurt, so I didn't really care. For some reason, all that mattered to me at the time was making sure I didn't get bloodstains on my pants.
