dream fragment

This one came as a surprise, as I haven't been doing any LD techniques these past couple of months.

I was in a public restroom. I thought I had ceased to exist, or something to that extent, so I looked in the mirror to see myself and instead I saw the reflection of a blonde girl I don't know. At first I was terrified because this was proof that I was no longer there, but then I remembered that in dreams one's reflection usually appears different. So, I wanted to wake myself up, but I couldn't, which made me worry the I wasn't dreaming. I ran out of the restroom...

Dream 1: NS took me to a party at some strangers' house. The owners were a middle-aged couple. There were lots of people there, but I didn't know anyone. The house was pretty big, as I recall, and it had a large deck. We spent most of the time outside.

The owners had a black cat, which I found out was dying from a disease. (Something that sounded a bit like "cinnamon.") I asked N, who had had a fair deal of contact with the cat, if it was contagious (I meant to humans, but I didn't say it -- it seemed to be clear in the context), and she said yes. I couldn't believe that I would have been brought here, and that all these people would be sitting around/invited to sit around with a contagious animal. So I asked again. And again she said yes.

I became very angry with her for bringing me to this party and exposing me to the cat. Eventually everyone began to move inside the house. We were supposed to spend the night -- everyone seemed to be -- but I wanted to find a way to sneak out. I didn't find the owners to be very hospitable, anyway.

Dream 2 (fragment , post WBTB): I was at some place with long aisles of tables/counters and (I think) computers? It might have been some kind of office or workspace. Almost everything (the tables, ceiling, floor) was a golden colored wood. There were many bouquets of flowers (hanging or in vases) all along the aisles.

An unfriendly woman with pretty short, dark hair was/worked there. I think my dad was with me. I don't know our reason for being there or talking to this woman.

Dream 1 (fragment): I was at a store with Aunt H. There were quite a few earrings lying amongst other things. I found a pair I liked, but then lost them. Aunt had also picked some out.

Dream 2 (post-WBTB):I was at the performance of a play I was assistant director for. I'm not sure if it was the same one I'd been involved in earlier this year, but I think it was mostly the same people. The director of my last film was there, and I was angry that he still hasn't sent me a copy of the film but he had time to attend events. Snoopy was there, too, but he looked more like a real dog than himself, and past director was very interested and taking photos. I think he was currently working on something Peanuts related.

Dream 1 (fragment): I was walking through an art gallery, looking at pieces that were for sale.

Post-WBTB:

Couldn't fall asleep for a long time, but remained relaxed enough for lots of hypnogogic images/sounds. One was really strange. I was looking at some kind of scene from right to left, but it was choppy, kind of like playing an online game with lag. I had another vision that is part of a series of visions I've been having for almost a year, which seem like they could be (oh please, can they be?) prophetic. Interestingly, mugwort is believed to induce prophetic dreams/visions (though I wasn't under its influence during any of the past visions).

Dream 2 (fragment): My sister had connected her laptop to a large widescreen TV to conduct her online classes.

Dream 3: I was K's house (didn't look like it does in real life). W, I, D, and Aunt J were there. They were telling me about a large green parrot they had seen on TV. They wanted to know what it was called. Someone there had a type of Amazon, so I said that if it looked like that, it might also have been one. But if it was bigger -- everyone agreed that it had been bigger -- it could have been an Eclectus, at which point W had something to say about Eclectuses.

K was in the kitchen, doing something by the sink. At this point, I spontaneously realized I was dreaming. NO RCs or anything memory-induced. I just suddenly became aware that I was dreaming (like I did a few times during a nightmare as a kid, at which point I would force my eyes open). So what did I do now that I realized I was dreaming? Told myself I had to wake up, of course!

I don't know why I decided the best course of action was to wake myself up, even though it wasn't a bad dream. Maybe it's just hardwired into my brain because that's what I always did when becoming lucid during a nightmare as a kid. I thought I was smarter than this!

Dream (fragment): I checked my the DreamZ app (was inspired to start using it again IWL) upon waking up, and it listed symbols I had dreamed of. One of them was a bunch of grapes (I had to find grapes in a scene in Gardens of Time right before bed IWL).

My recall continues to be dismal. I'm starting to think that maybe the vividness and recall I enjoyed early this month was caused by SSRI withdrawal.

On a more positive note, a lot of the fragments I recall are false awakenings. Guess the SSILD is working its magic.

Dream (fragment): I was with my sister in my grandma's kitchen. I was feeding a dog soup with a spoon.

I was at Half Price Books and saw A (my fifth grade crush) there. I was still interested in him (definitely not IWL), but knew it wouldn't work because he had a wife and kids. Then found out somehow/became aware that his wife had passed away.

Post-WBTB

False awakening: my phone alarm went off. I saw myself pick up the phone and turn it off. Then I realized that alarm is still going off and wondered why. I woke up and it was still on my nightstand.

Time slept: 12:15 - 6:50

Fragment: My sister and I were surprised that a Netflix came in the mail, even though we'd only sent the last one out the day before.

Exciting stuff.

Had about an hour to spare upon waking up and had a few HHs, but I guess I was too restless to drift off.

Two fragments and a dreamlet that I can't be bothered to write down here as they're already in my Dreamkeeper app.

Fragment: My aunt and uncle came over, and my uncle had some kind of task for me to do. It was really arduous and I didn't want to do it, but I would have felt bad saying no because I don't see him often.

Dream 1 (not sure if pre or post-WBTB): I was at what appeared to be the church, but with the aisles divided by walls. Only the front area (where the altar would have been, but wasn't) was open. There were a bunch of girls in their mid or late teens that were going to take part in some ceremony. I was just kind of wandering around aimlessly, I think.

Then I went to the back of the church, where there was something (a TV) through which I learned that K and W had been on a stupid reality show and they were talking about the results and how their relationship had improved so greatly. They didn't appear as themselves, though, but as some kind of puppets or cartoon characters. I'm sure at least one was a lion.


Fragment: I got a negative feedback on eBay and was worried that no one would buy from my shop anymore.

Fragment 1: I was very pleased about some crystals I got that worked extremely well, with obvious results. I think I got them from Judy Hall (author of a few crystal books I own IWL).

Interestingly, I had placed a double-terminated quartz I had once dug up in Arkansas under my pillow after reading that those aid in dreaming, and ended up having more dream/fragment recall than ever. I've slept with various other crystals over the years to no effect. Hmm.

Fragment 2: I was cutting/texturizing the ends of my hair, not even looking into the mirror, just grabbing the ends and snipping little triangles.

Fragment 3: I found out that Merlin was going to continue. It wasn't even going to be a sequel picking up where the finale left off, but stuff that happened between Arthur's death and that shot of Merlin in present times.

Watched the season finale on Syfy last Friday and was very disappointed in it as well as about the series coming to an end.

Dream 1: I was at a place that was a cross between a warehouse, a grade school, and a thrift store (IDK!). I had to help organize stuff and was annoyed about it. There was a guy who seemed around my age who owned or ran the place. I also passed by some schoolgirls while carrying stuff.

Dream 2 (post WBTB): I was sharing a dorm or hotel room with two other girls. It seemed like a school setting, and I don't know where the other girls went, but I was preparing for my upcoming audition.

The place was really cluttered. Still, I thought I should hang up my coat in the wardrobe. On my way, I passed a closet and something inside it moved. I concluded that I was being haunted.

I stopped dead in my tracks because between the wardrobe and the closet I had just passed was a mirror. I've heard many stories throughout my life of people seeing scary figures -- or even looking demonic themselves -- when gazing into the mirror, so I was afraid. But I didn't want to let my fears get the best of me and I also remembered that finding a mirror in my dream and describing my reflection was one of the TOTMs, so I proceeded boldly.

I stopped to look into the mirror, except now it looked like a somewhat distorted 50s style television. At first I got kind of scared because there was something definitely wrong with my left eye. I looked closer and realized that it was swollen (though it didn't look like a real swollen eye would). I figured it was related to the discomfort I've been feeling there due to my recent migraine.

While I was not aware of dreaming in that last dream, my thought processes before looking in the "mirror" resembled my waking thoughts more than the majority of my dreams do. Usually when I make decisions in dreams, it doesn't involve a drawn-out and coherent thought process. The summoning of will and courage in a dream is also something I don't remember experiencing in a dream before. Then again, I was terrible at recall until this year and especially these past two weeks, so maybe I'm just not familiar enough with my dreams.

Also, that last dream is my first successful dream incubation Wish it had been a more pleasant experience, though.

Fragment: Meeting the director from my upcoming audition. (She emailed me a reminder about the audition shortly before I went to sleep.)

Dream

I was at what was supposed to be a college campus but didn't look like one. It was nighttime. There was going to be a football game. I met a girl and two guys and we ate together. I thought one of the guys was kinda hot. The girl voiced my thoughts exactly. Then the hot guy left, and as he was leaving I said, "Nice to meet you."

The girl seemed annoyed that I had acknowledged him but not her. I meant to say the same to her before she departed a few second later, but somehow didn't get the chance.


Did my WBTB after this and couldn't fall back asleep because of allergies. Did catch a few HHs, though.

Fragment 1:

I realized that my hair has gotten a lot lighter and was happy it had happened so quickly. (I've been coloring my hair with semi-permanent color for almost a year, and now I've stopped an am using clarifying shampoo to get it out quicker.)

Fragment 2:

I was boiling water in the electric kettle, when it turned into a huge pot with bits of algae floating in the water. (Also influenced by daily life. Before bed I noticed some mineral buildup in the electric kettle that I need to clean out.)
