4-16-12, A more productive night than I thought it would be

I was pretty sure I had set myself up for a bad night because I had Egg Flower soup before bed. I love the stuff, and have been wanting it for weeks, my awesome husband bought it for me at the grocery store yesterday, and I had to eat it as soon as he go home with it! lol The problem with this being that I am allergic to eggs I actually developed the allergy when I was preggo with my daughter, so I know how amazing eggs taste from before then, and a couple times a year I just get this wild hankerin' (yup, I'm from the south, lol) for some egg drop soup or sunny side up eggs. I figured I'd end up being sick all night, but I got lucky and only had a mild stomach ache, yay! This resulted in short dreams because I was waking up constantly thinking, "My belly hurts!" and I can't even remember half of them, but the first one especially was on the right track! Before bed I figured I'm going to start mapping out what I want to do when I get lucid again, since I usually get crazy excited and try random stuff with no real purpose. I have dream goals, but what I wrote last night was more of a plan than just random goals of things I'd like to accomplish. So I wrote something like, "When I am lucid, I want to create a portal that will arrive at my dream guide. When I find my dream guide, I want to ask him/her about K. I want to ask what he is, and where he is." then I wrote down the key points of what I want to do like I remember my dreams in key words, "Portal, Dream Guide, Ask" hoping it'd help me remember in my dreams like it does the other way around. I also noticed the night before I had worn a Bandanna to bed to keep my hair from going nuts (first time I've done this in years, lol) and I noticed that I had a bunch of long dreams that I could remember, and I was almost lucid in one. I thought that the unusual feeling of something on my head could have caused me to be a bit more aware in my sleep since it was different. So I tried again, this time with a purple bandanna just on the whim that purple is a high vibrational color and might have a stronger effect than the neon green one the night before, ha ha.

Dream One (Fragment): I'm talking to a woman who is dressed like the Genie in the Sims Showtime. She's wearing the exact same outfit as the genie my sim called out of the lamp last week, right down to it being aqua marine colored. She wasn't blue though, she kind of reminded me of Scarlett Ohara in a belly dancing outfit, lol. ( Genie Girls (No CC) by Amj1995 - The Exchange - Community - The Sims 3 <-- instead of hot linking a picture, here's a link to some female sim genies I found on their website) Anyways, All I can remember is being completely taken aback, and looking at the genie Scarlett and saying, "Your my dream guide?!" So I must have been lucid and just too fuzzy to remember it because it was the first dream of the night. She nodded, and made a noise like "Mmm hum" and then I woke up thinking to myself, crazyness! Of all the things I excepted to influence my dream guide, The Sims was not one of them!

Dream Two: I'm at a movie, it's a screening of some Subbed movie though, and I know they don't show those in theaters around here, lol. I can't watch the subs though, they're not showing up! My best friend A is with me, and I ask her about it. She tells me I need this program on my phone to be able to see the subtitles! Sure enough, I download this app, and the subtitles show up on my phone when I hold it up to the screen. The movie is some sort of cool but creepy movie about a ballet dancer who murders people. It reminds me of Sweeney Todd, Sleepy Hollow, and From Hell in the way it was filmed and the effects. Time skips forwards, and we're leaving the theater. I'm by myself somehow, and this asian man walks past me, I wonder why he looks familiar, then just decide to keep walking. Before I can take my first step, I feel a pat on my shoulder and the DC behind me says, "Don't you want an auto graph?" I turn around and see the man behind me is Regi (the guy Nintendo of America has representing them, he's a CEO or something?) But in the dream I recognize him as one of the two men who directed this ballet film. Of course I want an auto graph! He signs a card, but it looks like invisible ink! He explains that I need to use the same app that allowed me to watch his movie on the card to see his autograph. I try it, and it works! I ask him about the other director, and he laughs and tells me that's who just passed me when he got my attention. Apparently he could tell I recognized them, sorta of. We go chasing after the guy who had passed me earlier so I can get his auto graph. When he's in view I notice he's Miyamoto (the guy who makes the Legend of Zelda games) but I never can get his auto graphs, because he's behind a locked gate with guards. I wake up.

Dream Three: I'm watching over some little girls at like a slumber party or something. Another woman walks in and tells me that one of the girls who are supposed to show up tonight won't be there because she had a horseback riding accident and died. This must be some sort of church function, because a girl I recognize from my kids church walks in and suggests we go to the site of the accident and pray for the girl. We get on a bus, drive there, an I see a ghostly black horse rearing, and it's like I'm watching the accident happen, but no one else sees it. They pray, then we go back to the slumber party. The little girls in the slumber party find a hidden passageway, and I agree to let them explore it. I feel like the dead little girl is around, I can feel her energy, and I wonder if I tell myself I can see her if I will see her... I think I was track to be lucid, but I ended up waking up instead.

Dream Four (Fragment): I remember a class room from my high school. I also remember going out to my car to find someone has the hood up and is trying to jump off the battery of his girlfriends car using my car, without asking! I'm not too happy, but I feel bad because I know it sucks to have your battery die b/c you forgot to turn off the light. It works, but the girl insists that I give her and her boyfriend and her brother a ride home from school. I'm trying to use the car seats in the back as an excuse for why they can't ride with me. I wake up.

Dream Five (Fragment): I can remember seeing different high class restaurants, like pictures of them. I also remember seeing a chef skin gigantic boa, alive. The thing gave him little trouble until he cut it's head open and scooped it's brains out. I felt sick and woke up.

Dream Six: I'm walking into an auditorium like class room. I know this to be the drama room, even though in real life my high schools drama room was in greens and yellows (school colors) and this dream drama room was cream and brown. A guy who I barely knew in high school and became friends with later in life walks into the room. He's upset because he thinks everyone in the drama club is making him miserable because we don't talk to him enough. I don't talk to anyone anyways, I'm shy unless I'm on stage, so I tell him as much and that he's being silly. He walks out of the room, and someone says all the doors are locked, we're locked in! D, the guy holding us hostage, says over a loud speaker that he's going to give us one more chance to bow down to him and beg for our lives before he kills us. Then he walks back into the room looking all high and mighty, with two Disney villain type thugs behind him. I think to myself that I have to do something, and I consider myself the closest thing he has to a friend in the room, so I get up and try to talk some sense into him. He won't hear it, he's bent on killing everyone. He does agree that he'll let everyone fight back, because what fun would it be to kill people who are unarmed? Then he hands me a sword. I remember earlier in the dream he has shown me a gun blade... only instead of being a long sword like Squall's, it was more of the size of a hobbit sword. I give him back the sword, and tell him I want the gun blade he offered me earlier. I've changed my mind, I'm going to help him. He seems happy with this, and takes me to a back room where he arms me with not one, but TWO mini gunblades. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to shoot him and stop him without killing him. Then we walk back into the auditorium, I'm feeling really bad ass with my gunblades My husband is in the auditorium though, and he's looking at me with a sad and betrayed look on his face. I try to wink at him to let him know it's all good, I'm not a turn coat, but I don't think he can understand what I'm trying to signal. Then, a bunch of little kids start filing into the room. Like Kindergarten size! I quickly shove the gunblades in my pants behind my back and cover the tops of them with my shirt in hopes of hiding them. I tell my husband to get the kids out of there, but he won't move. I turn to D, and tell him we can do this tomorrow, I will not slaughter in front of a bunch of innocent little kids! I run back into the back room and toss the gunblades back into the box D had pulled the out of. It's a pop corn box?! lol But the box ends up falling off the table it was on, and explodes. I get hit in the stomach, and my hands and face feel burned, but it only lasts half a second. I look at my hands and scorched flesh, and think, "huh... that's nasty looking... but it doesn't hurt so I must be ok." I run through the auditorium before the little kids can see the nasty burns, and out the door the kids came in. I make it to the outside of the school, and my wounds are healed! But my mom is standing outside and she starts wailing on me about being so late getting home and she was worried so she came looking for me. I tell her I'll explain it all when we get home, but we need to leave, NOW! And the rest of the drama club is hopping into their own cars and leaving. My best friend A gets in my car with me, and we drive out of the parking lot. I wake up.

Wow, great recall and a very interesting dream as well. Do you practice doing any reality checks by any chance? cause you seemed to have very good dream control, even though you were not lucid.

I sort of do reality checks. I don't do the whole testing if I can breathe or trying to put my fingers through my hand thing because I can rarely remember to do them, and feel silly when I can What I do is try to just pay better attention to my surroundings when I'm awake and ask myself, "Am I awake or dreaming?" and then try to find reasons to support my yes or no answers. Every time I've been lucid it's been because In the dream, I just suddenly felt like it could be a dream, and when I tried to remember how I got there and what my purpose was, it was clear that I was in fact dreaming. Someone actually suggested using Color as a dream sign on the forum, and I've been trying that for a week or so with the color green. Every time I see green I try to remember to ask myself if I'm dreaming or not, and since green is a very common color, I'm getting in way more practice identifying waking reality.

Funny you should say my control seems good, in all but my first lucid my control has been terrible. I know I can have good control because I did amazing in my first (I walked through walls, changed my body around, etc) but everyone since I've had trouble getting the effect I desire. I mean when I try stuff, something happens, it's just not usually what I want to happen. Like trying to change scenery ends up just dragging a new dream character in. Or I can jump really high instead of fly. I'm constantly just saying, "ok, that didn't work, I'll just roll with it and try something else." I wish I could become lucid when non normal stuff happens in my dreams, then it'd probably be easier to do cool things in the dreams

Hmm..interesting. Alright Mydera, let me ask you something. Have you ever thought about using a sacred item? Sort of like a totem? (like in the movie inception) Im gonna help you to increase your awareness with a tip too btw. How often do you question your surroundings? Often, very often, or every now and then? The key to you building that awareness, lies purely on your surroundings. Do you get visits from the same people in various dreams? Those people are often considered your dream characters who can actually help increase your chances of becoming lucid. These dream characters can be used as dream signs, and a cue for you to reality check. What i would also recommend, is that you try the subconscious training technique as there are a variety of ways to do this. You could speak your emotions out, such as. "I am the controller of my dreams". "I feed my subconscious with positive thoughts and emotions about lucid dreams". "I am the master and the creator, of my lucid dreams".

Remember, you are in control. You can train your subconscious to start remembering dreams, becoming lucid, you name it! The mind is a very powerful weapon, and with the proper training, you can unleash a extremely good quality of lucid dreams. You seem to be a natural from what im reading so far. Don't give up if all else fails...remember..TO DO A REALITY CHECK!

I'm going to quote you out of order here, sorry in advance if I get confusing, but I'm going to try not to be!

Do you get visits from the same people in various dreams?
I have one dream character that reoccurs, and is ONLY a dream character. I've never met him in real life (though I've seen someone who looked like him before) I'm trying to remember when I see him that I'm dreaming, and at times he has actually told me I was dreaming (he was the one who got me interested in lucid dreaming to begin with, b/c he told me a couple of time "that was a fun dream" or "this is your dream. You tell me why." But it's not working out well. Half the time I don't realize it's him until I'm lucid, and when I do get lucid and realize it's him, I get way over excited and end up waking up within moments. I have several dreams with him in it on here, I refer to him as K

Also, my mom often appears in dreams making them nightmares. But I see her maybe once a month right now, so I don't get to practice rcing with her in waking life much.

Have you ever thought about using a sacred item? Sort of like a totem?
I have thought of this, though I'm not sure the best way to go about it. In the first dream I had with K, he gave me a ring. I have considered the possibility of "If I'm dreaming, it's probably still on my hand and I could use that to say I'm dreaming!" But I can never remember to look at my hands, even when I'm lucid. I thought about buying one like it, and trying to reality check when I see it in waking life but haven't found anything like it even on the internet yet.

Would just any random object work? Or does it need to be something with some emotional significance to the carrier? I saw in some of your dreams, You use a coin... but in one of the dreams a DC said your mother gave it to you, so I thought maybe it needs to have emotional value so your more likely to dream of it?

What i would also recommend, is that you try the subconscious training technique as there are a variety of ways to do this. You could speak your emotions out, such as. "I am the controller of my dreams". "I feed my subconscious with positive thoughts and emotions about lucid dreams". "I am the master and the creator, of my lucid dreams".
I will try that for sure I'm starting to write down what I want to do and how to achieve it every night before bed so that if I get lucid I don't waste that chance by going crazy and doing random stuff because I'm too excited to do what I've learned to lucid dream for, lol. Before I go to bed I repeat what I wrote, something like, "When I am lucid I will..." I'll amend that to "Tonight I will be lucid. When I am lucid I will..." and add in those "I am the controller" and "I feed my subconcious" in there at the end

Don't give up if all else fails...remember..TO DO A REALITY CHECK!
Don't worry, I definitely won't give up I have some very important things I'm looking for answers to, and the only way to accurately find out about things in my dreams are to ask the things in my dreams

Hmm..interesting. I think that K fella may possibly be your dream guide. Although can't truly say for sure but, try asking him one of these days when you become lucid. Wow, yea you will most likely need a totem if you get re occuring nightmares of your mom appearing. Yes, a ring will be great value of a sacred item (totem) for you.

Perhaps you should try staring at your hands or feet often IRL, that may help you to become lucid. As far as using any object? Yes absolutely. Just as long as you reality check with it often, and keep it with you at all times so that it may manifest itself to appear often in your dreams.

Yes true, my totems do have very significant value to me. I would most certainly recommend that your totem be a very personal item of yours. That way, you can look at it sort of like a goodluck charm you know? Don't worry, you sound like a very prepared dreamer to me. I must read up a few more of your older entries as well. Oh, and If you ever need a tag along partner to show you the ropes in the dreams, just PM me. My door is always open.
