    1. Princess Celestia, I choose you...

      by , 11-07-2011 at 04:31 AM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      ~I was in some kind of medieval looking school, similar to Hogwarts. I didn't know where the heck anything was, so someone directed me to a stage, where auditions for something were taking place. I got in line to audition, but they ended a few minutes before I got a chance. Following the crowd of people to a dining area, I saw what looked like Princess Celestia from My Little Pony as a human. For some reason I wanted to get her attention. She was facing away from me, so I looked around and saw some pokeballs lying on the floor. I picked one up and threw it at her head. She turned around, ran into the center of the room, and loudly announced that whoever had thrown that at her would be banished to the moon. I slid the other pokeballs towards the person standing next to me.

      ~In a large auditorium full of people, I was standing behind a table with a ukulele on it. Apparently I was supposed to be performing something. I saw a few of my friends over on one side of the room, so I walked over to them and they told me I had so sing, "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles and play the ukulele. I didn't know all the lyrics so I asked one of my friends if he did. He gave me some random lines that sounded perfectly right at the time. (After I woke up I realized they had been more like the lyrics to "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago.) Regardless, I just went into the audience to sit by my family. My grandma said something about how it was getting late, and the dream ended.

      ~Fragment; walking around a store and I found an aisle full of soapy type things. I opened a bottle of lotion and it smelled like sugar cookies.

    2. cats and dogs... and other stuff

      by , 11-03-2011 at 06:07 AM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      I saw the new Puss In Boots movie a few days ago. It was good. And also the basis of my entire dream the next night. It just consisted of scenes from the movie.

      ~After that there was a rather confusing dream where I think I was a cat... I was a secret agent and had a bunch of kittens diffuse a bomb for me while I used some kind of mini-laptop to track a criminal.

      ~And after that, I was human and walking around Mackinac Island. I went into a store that sold a few things, but the one I remember most clearly was raw gemstones. There might have also been some incense and glass figurines, and the lady who owned the store warned me about buying a certain item.

      ~Next night. My class was on a field trip somewhere. There was some playground equipment by the parking lot our bus was parked in, and a restaurant across the street. The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile was at the drive-thru.

      Just behin the parking lot, there was a big pond surrounded by boulders. My dog was walking around on the boulders, and they kept falling out from under her, so I would freak out because I thought she was drowning. Eventually I got her away from the pond. I went back to the parking lot and down the road a little ways, I could see a glass building with fake cows all over the roof.

      ~Last night. I remember getting a test back from a teacher and having every question marked wrong.

      ~I was riding in a car with my friend Gabi. She swerved to avoid an oncoming semi, and the car went into the ditch and flipped over.

      ~A tree was growing in a little boxed-in area filled with water. I was hopping around on the tree roots. I think it was in some kind of hotel.

    3. Where is my recall?

      by , 10-29-2011 at 05:45 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      Narrrrrrrg. I slept for a decent amount of time last night, but I still can't remember anything. My recall deteriorated over that month or so where I didn't really try to record any dreams. Now I have to get back in the habit. Yay, let's be determined.

      Got even less sleep than last night, but I know I had at least one dream. It was nagging at the back of my mind all day. Tonight will be my last night with internet access for about a week, though, so I should be back on a regular schedule.

      I stayed up a bit late last night... Just a bit. Got very little sleep, don't remember any dreams. But I do remember one from a week or two ago about a cyclops throwing ninja stars at me. We later had a deep discussion and he decided to turn his life around and stop killing people. What a charming guy.

      $&%*!!!??? It's been a month since my last entry! That makes me feel bad... I need to stay up to date on this.

      ~So there are a few dreams I remember, or at least fragments. There were some vampire pigs in the back of a truck, a big hidden room in the top of my school, and one where I became friends with the phantom of the opera and he ended up being a nice guy.

      ~Last night's dream: I was in a large, odd building. Everything inside was just kind of fantastical, all strangely shaped and kind of difficult to describe. There were several round tables in the room I was in, and a few people were seated at each one. Some type of meeting was going to happen. Then a man appeared towards the front of the room. He had red hair a little longer than shoulder length, and wore a fedora-type hat tilted down to cover the top half of his face. All you could see was a nose and mischievous grin. He had a cape/cloak/whatever you want to call it, and old style clothes: a button up jacket with coattails, neck ruffle, kind of pointed shoes. It was all black, except for the stripe around his hat, which was purple. He had a red rose in one hand. (I tried to draw a picture of him, but everyone said it looked like a pimp... )
      This fellow bounded across the room and proceeded to make a woman vanish with just a wave of his arm. Then he had a few doves fly out of his sleeve, and the single rose turned into a boquet. Having caught everyone's attention, he told us to go to the elevator. It was a big round platform connected to a curved wall. We all stepped on, Mr. Magician tipping his hat to me as he passed (squee ), and the platform began to rise. When it stopped, everyone had to grab a ledge that was a little over five and a half feet up and pull themselves to the second floor. Why the elevator couldn't just go up a bit more, I don't know. But I was too short to reach the ledge, so I stood there dejectedly, and then woke up.

      ~~~~I am making a solemn vow to write in a notebook DJ every morning and whenever I wake up at night, and to try my hardest to get on DV at least once a week, hopefully twice. Hold me to this, people.
    7. McDonalds and ice cream
      by , 09-27-2011 at 06:15 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      Yay, the computers at school are fast.
      ~I was walking around my house, and I noticed several of the foreign exchange students were there. They were just looking around at everything. I said something (can't remember what) to one of them and somehow ended up taking them to McDonalds because they were hungry. We walked into the drive-thru and there was a big flip-through menu with pictures of someone playing the guitar on it (I think it might've been Slash), along with random food items like custard sandwiches. The exchange student ordered something along the lines of "a big drink and fries," and the person working inside responded by repeating the order to the tune of 'Phantom of the Opera'. Then apparently we had to leave, and they'd call us when the order was ready. We went back to my house and there was a trailer with a giant ice cream sundae on top sitting in my back yard. Nobody from McDonalds called, so we ate some ice cream. It was really good.
      ~There was another one, I know. I just can't think of what it was...
      I wish I had better internet at home so I could post here every day. I hate having big gaps between my DJ posts, because then I'm scrambling to put in a whole bunch of stuff instead of being able to write out one or two detailed dreams at a time. Oh well.
      ~Biology class was being taught underwater. At one point I asked the teacher how we were all able to breathe, and she informed me that it was called "sidestepping," then proceeded to lecture the class on it.
      ~I was in a huge attic space, mostly empty except for a few pieces of furniture covered with white sheets. I lifted one of the sheets and was looking at the dusty table under it when a zombie suddenly burst into the room. It looked like a blond-haired boy around 16 or 17 years old, only with his skin falling off and everything. He chased me around and I ran out of the room, which led to a parking lot. There were a few other zombies and my friend Caceti. She must have been some kind of ninja assassin, because she was beating the crap out of all the zombies at a bazillion miles an hour. I went back into the attic because I thought she'd kill the one that had been after me. He came back a minute or two later, however, and I just got irritated and told him to go ahead and eat me. He said, "Really?", and I said "Yeah, whatever." Then, of all places to start, he bit my knee. It kind of tickled.
      ~I was in a car with two friends. We were driving through town, but then it changed to some place with metal sculptures everywhere. Even the road was made of thousands of overlapping metal leaves. The overall look of the place was very beautiful, but also a bit creepy. We went through a tunnel and came out in a normal city. A semi pulled out in front of us and the car slammed into it. All of us shouted, "WHAT THE ULEY!?" at the same time. We weren't hurt, just annoyed that now the car was stuck halfway under a semi. After a few seconds the driver got out, looked at us, and started eating a sandwich.
      ~My friend Austin caught some type of endangered butterfly.
      ~Another one of those dreams that had an elaborate storyline I can't remember, and that would make no sense if I could. It involved a murderer, the number 1, the entrance to a sewer that happened to be in the wall of my grandma's basement, and probably many more random things.
      ~Buying a little glass flower to give to someone.
    9. socks?
      by , 09-10-2011 at 05:58 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      Another lucid last night, but I lost it pretty quickly. It was a short dream.
      I was lucid from the beginning. My friend Trevor tried to make me eat a Lego, and it was absolutely disgusting. I don't know whose house I was in, but I followed him outside, where there was a beach with a few jet skiis tied up to a dock. Out of nowhere, Trevor threw a sock at me and I shrank down to at least two inches tall. Then he threw another sock and I returned to normal. I looked down and saw that I had notebooks tied to my feet... and then a hurricane blew in. Even more socks continued to hit me in the face as I held onto a tree for dear life.
      Yeah, that was it.
    10. lotsa lucids
      by , 09-10-2011 at 05:37 AM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      Somehow I'm now having at least one lucid dream almost every night. I have everything all nice and written down with details in a notebook, which I also don't happen to have with me at the moment. So I'll just put last night's dream.
      A woman was being stalked by a vampire, who had killed her husband earlier. I was trying to protect her. In the beginning I think we were running around a hospital, and then we got to her house. The vampire broke in and I told the woman to run while I grabbed a hamburger, which apparently held some significance in the dream. I wasn't lucid then, so it made perfect sense. As I left the house and sprinted down the road, the vampire followed me and pulled out a big bazooka-looking thing. That's when I became lucid. He fired the thingy, and a little missle shot out... and fell on the ground in front of me in a little shower of sparks. I dropped the hamburger and was about to tell the woman that she could beat the crap out of this guy because it was a dream, but he shot another missle at me (which I caught and tossed off the road) and then took out a machine gun. My alarm woke me up.
      There was another dream a few nights before that (lucid) where I was playing on a slide that turned you into different Pokemon. That was fun.
    11. wow continued
      by , 08-27-2011 at 07:26 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      Okay, so I got a little caught up in watching movies Friday.
      Anyways, that monster from Relic was chasing me around, and I got into a car so I could escape faster. All the stuff inside was weird, though, and when I tried to drive, the car just lurched forward a few feet and sputtered to a stop. The monster caught up with me and opened its slimy, toothy, mouthy thing. But I convinced it to let me go say goodbye to people before it killed me and ate my hypothalamus (part of the brain, you kind of have to read the book/watch the movie). I ran away and tried to think of a plan. At this point I was lucid, and I remembered that in the movie the creature didn't kill a dog after realizing it didn't have the right type of brain. So I turned into a wolf, yay! I went back to the the monster, and it was angry upon seeing that it had been duped. I lived, it went to find someone else to eat. What a happy ending.
      ~~~~~

      As for the past few nights, my coughing has gotten worse and now I keep throwing up, so... I haven't been getting much sleep.

    12. wow

      by , 08-24-2011 at 09:09 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      This is really... surprising. I've had five lucids in the past four nights. No idea why. I can't remember much of the first one and the second one was kind of a fail, but still.

      ~First: I think I only realized I was dreaming with the first one was because I started waking up, so it wasn't very long. I convinced a friend who happened to be standing nearby to race me. She turned into a horse immediately and took off, and I had to change as I was running, so that was kind of awkward. But it was fun.

      ~Second: This was on the same night. I was in a large room with metal walls, and a metal ceiling and floor. There was a pool set into the floor that took up most of the room, and a big metal door against one wall that slid open every few seconds and then closed. When the door opened, it sucked in everything that wasn't held down into a white void. I stood right next to it to avoid being sucked in. Then an alligator and a shark popped up out of the pool and started chasing me. I became lucid randomly sometime after that. I noticed a normal door set back into a little alcove in the corner of the room, but thought that if I went through there I might be stuck wandering around some weird building. So I dove through the sliding door instead. All around me was nothing but a white void. I had been planning on just thinking of where I wanted to go and letting it kind of materialize around me, but I think the lack of anything happening woke me up.

      ~Third: I was traveling around a dark mountainous landscape with Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione. I became lucid for no apparent reason and remembered a joke, which I proceeded to tell Harry.
      Me- "Knock knock."
      Harry- "Um... Who's there?"
      Me- "You know."
      Harry- "You know who?"
      Me-
      Harry- "...Ha ha."
      We all crept around the rocks for quite a while, and then found a cave-type thing. We started to walk through, but... the head from the Statue of Liberty fell from the ceiling and shouted, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" I ran past it immediately. "That doesn't count," it informed me. I walked back and a giant bullent came hurtling towards the three of us. We scattered and ran past the head. I don't think we ever ended up anywhere.

      ~Third: The creature from 'Relic' (Book by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, later a movie) was chasing me around, but in the dream it could talk.

      Craaaaaap, I have to leave. I'll put the rest on Friday.

      Between an obnoxious schedule and getting sick, I haven't been sleeping well for the past week. I can only remember a bunch of fragments.
      ~A house full of puppies
      ~Looking a washing machines
      ~Someone singing "Your Guardian Angel" by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
      ~A gingerbread house
      ~Going to Australia, where apparently monsters live in public restrooms
      ~Getting lost in a giant supermarket

      The obnoxious schedule is over with now, but I'm still waking up in the middle of the night and having coughing fits. Hopefully that stops soon, too.

    14. a few dreams

      by , 08-12-2011 at 11:00 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      ~I was at camp again. Everything was just like normal, except the counselor of our cabin was Nomad. (That would've been the most interesting week that camp's ever seen ) He was making all of our cardboard robots (something we made at the actual camp) come to life. They were flying and rolling and running around all over the place. After a while they ran out the door. I'm pretty sure I was lucid, although I never really RCd or anything. Nomad showed me how to make it rain in little areas, like when sad people in cartoons have rainclouds just over their heads. It took me a few tries, but I suceeded in getting the space in front of me to rain. I tried to move it around the room and it disappeared. I made another attempt, though, and it worked.

      Then our regular counselor came in, in a wheelchair for some reason. Nomad left, singing a song whose words I can't remember. The guy who had pushed the other counselor in started singing "Rhythm of Love" by the Plain White T's.

      ~A guy was walking down a street in a big city in the middle of the night. He headed over towards some kind of cake dispenser to get a birthday cake. There was a lever on the side like a slot machine, which he pulled. In a little window on the front, a picture of an octopus came up, and a giant octopus appeared. It kept turning invisible. (Poor man. Came for a cake, got a big octopus instead. )

      ~I was standing on the front porch of my grandma's house. Out of nowhere, my friends Wesley and Austin tear up in this tiny little car. It's like a VW bug, only the right size for a five-year-old. Somehow they get me to squeeze in with them. I'm more than a bit concerned as they speed off again. The steering wheel is on the right, manned by Austin, and the pedals are on the left, controlled by Wesley. The only thing I can do is freak out as they fly around random turns and keep almost tipping us over. I wake up when they try to drive across a rope bridge and it falls apart.

      ~This one was from my perspective, but I wasn't me. I'm pretty sure I was a vampire. There were empty, hilly fields in every direction, and the sun was beating down on everything without a single cloud in the sky. I think there was one dead tree a little ways ahead of me. I was walking down a dirt road towards one of several small, shed-sized buildings that looked like individual prison cells. Apparently I was the death sentence at whatever place this was, and I was heading out to kill someone. Only two people passed me as went along, and they both ducked their heads and walked faster until they were a ways away. I wore a long, red, hooded cloak. I was irritated that I had been called out there, but somewhat amused by the terrified screams coming from the cell I was headed towards.

      I kind of don't like that dream; it was creepy.

      ~And then I just remember something about watching Shrek.

      by , 08-10-2011 at 06:33 PM (redisreddish's mess of dreams is still messy)
      The fragments I can remember from camp were about a centaur and almost getting killed by something in the middle of the night. It's so hard to sleep there...

      Anyways, last night's dream was really weird. A bunch of people were all tied up and lying on the ground. A guy kept trying to tie me up, too. One of the people on the ground was covered with a sheet. When the guy uncovered the person, it was just a stick figure. During the dream, there was some elaborate storyline that I can't even begin to remember now. It was kind of creepy, though.
