    Two Layers Down and One Hell of a Nightmare

    Awareness - 8 / 10
    Control - 10 / 10

    Although this dream was not lucid I posessed amazing control during it. The most interesting part however was the fact that during the dream, I went to sleep and had another dream within that one! (Maybe it's because I finally had a chance to watch 'Inception'?) Anyways here is what happened...

    The first thing I remember is that I was at a friends house having a sleepover. We were all piled in the living room getting snacks and making a fort out of blankets and stuff getting ready to watch a scary movie. Now, normally I am the type of person who could watch a horror movie all by myself at night and be perfectly fine, let alone have a nightmare about it, but in this dream, there was something errie about the whole situation. I remember once we finally got our fort set up we began the movie. I was really scared of something for some reason and took a spot next to the wall so I had my back against something solid as we watched the movie. It was just plain creepy. The lighting was very disturbing and all the color seemed drained from the room. Well, about half way through the movie, I becam tired and fell asleep. Now, I entered another dream, even more dark and disturbing than the previous one...

    So I am still in the same house, and awake to a blood curdling scream. It was like having a false awakening during a dream. I was still in the second layer dream, just dreaming about waking back up to the sleepover. Anyways, it is early dawn and I hear this scream and am frozen with fear. I hear some creature let out its own high pitched scream as it finishes chomping down on its victim. I look around and only see two of my friends, while the third one is gone. I instantly knew what had happened to him. Then, out of the hallway, the same alien type creature from the movie we had been watching came dashing out at us. You know that old saying about how you don't have to outrun the bear, just the guy next to you? Well, I shoved one of my friends down and ran for it. The creature rushed over and scooped him up in its jaws like he was a piece of beef jerkey. It began tearing him to shreds and I could hear and see everything in detail. I started to run for the door and then the creature dropped its meal and went into the attic. I was terrified. It could drop down through the cieling any second and get the two of us remaining. I motioned for my remaining friend to go and try to make it to the door. With his first step the creature came swooping down out of the attic for just a split second and grabbed him. I stood there and was paralyzed with fear. Maybe it hunted by movement? If I stayed there maybe it wouldn't see me? But I still had a chance for the doow while it devoured its latest victim. What to do?!?!?! Suddenly, a severed head dropped through the ceiling. I was screwed. I had missed my chance to escape and now had to stand there and hope it couldn't see me if I didn't move. The creature burst down from the ceiling and stood right in front of me. I was amazed. It was looking right at me and didn't see me!! As long as I didn't move I was safe. Then, the creature let out a breath ever so slight, that it was just enough to cause me to need to cough. I tried to hold it in, for if I moved, I was dead. Then... I just couldn't hold it and coughed. The creature lunged for me and I suddenly awoke back into the slumber party dream.

    I awoke and it was morning. My friends were all there and there was no monster chasing us. I got up and told them the dream. They were all pretty speechless that I could commit such an act of treachery as pushing them down to get eaten, but I reassured them it was just a dream. I told them it was a bad idea to fall asleep half way through a horror movie and we decided to watch an action movie next time. Then we all got up and went to the kitchen for a bowl of cereal.

    Finally back in reality, I awoke and it was about 4:30 in the morning. I was exhausted I guess from the nightmare, but still started the alarm, in hopes of having a lucid. (although incubating my last dream was probably not the best idea in this case). Anyways, by the time it had gone off once I simply got up and shut it off I was so tired. Guess a Dr. Pepper at 10:30 right before bed is a bad thing.
    Note to self : Next time parents tell you they are going to throw away all that old pop unless someone drinks it, just let them throw it away.

    Well, tonight I did my regular routine however and am planning on having a nice lucid with no soda pop to interrupt.

      Dream withing a dream... ... and still remembering them is amazing~!
      That beast must be really mad at something to rip all victims... ㅇ_ㅇ;;;
      Horror Film... I could never stand watching one of those even in real life (Not a fan of thriller...)

      Ya I thought it was pretty cool myself, although I made a thread about it and everyone keeps saying that it is impossible for this to occur. I still think it happened but oh well, guess I'm not a brain scientist.

      And yes, I believe the beast was quite mad. I remember it looked kind of like the alien from the "Alien" movies. Maybe it was looking for it's kid or something. lol

      So drinking soda is supposed to be bad? For dream recall, or for lucid dreaming?

      I ask, since I have pretty darn good dream recall, and always drink soda in bed before falling asleep. (No caffeine though ....)

      Well, I think it is not the soda itself, but the caffeine because I drank a Dr. Pepper. If I have Sprite or something though it seems to be fine.
