    1. Vague recollections

      by , 02-22-2011 at 07:08 PM
I had a bad night's sleep last night, which I think effected my recall. I have some brief impressions though.

      1. Someone, an older man, pulling me by the arm. He is very angry with me for something I did.

      2. Taking some sort of test.

      3. One of my friends being arrested.

That's all I can remember, dammit!

    2. Lucid Pigs

      by , 02-21-2011 at 08:28 PM
      1. I'm in an apartment that I don't recognize. I know that for some reason I have to get all the way across town very soon. I have a large beer that I am trying to finish as quickly as possible. There are large bowls of ramen noodles. Someone makes a toast and they say that it is for "the most boring man in the world".

      2. I'm going to class. I don't recognize the setting of the classroom. I sit down at a desk away from most of the people in the room, because I do not know anyone. We have to watch a video, but from where I am sitting, I can not see at all. Some of the dream characters notice this and beckon me over. I grab my bag and I sit at a table full of DCs. The instructor hands out some papers. I look up and notice that the instructor is my old boss. This confuses me for a minute. "But I was fired... Wasn't I?" I ask. He doesn't seem to know what I am talking about.
I look down at the papers that he has handed out. The heading of the text starts moving in a psychedelic way. This should have been a dream sign, but instead I think that I am having an acid flashback or something. I hear someone laugh, and I look up to see a girl about my own age with dark skin, dark hair, and grey eyes. She is smiling and laughing at me. "I know that look." She says and winks.
We talk for a while, and when I look back on it now, it seems like she was trying to hint to me that I was dreaming. She tells me that her name is Zenia or something similar. I also talked with a few other DCs but none of them are quite as memorable.
I go outside for a cigarette, even though I have quit in real life. I run into a friend of mine, and we wander for a bit and end up in some strange mall. I realize that we will probably get in trouble for smoking in the mall so I suggest that we head back the way we came. We pass by the class again and Zenia and her group of friends are still hanging out outside. I go over and say goodbye to them, then I run back to my friend and continue on our walk.
We turn down one street and come across a family of wild pigs, inexplicably living in the town. The babies are very cute. When they see us, they run out into the street, and my friend and I desperately try to save them from being hit by passing cars. I grab one and it struggles to get away from me, and even tries to bite me. I run and put it down on the other side of a nearby fence. As I am running around to try and save the others, I realize how absurd the whole situation is. I think that I must be dreaming. As soon as I have this revelation, the dream starts to fade. I get down on my knees and feel the ground. At first it feels like concrete, and I breathe a sigh of relief. Then it starts to feel soft like the sheets on my bed. I start to worry that I am waking up. Suddenly it feels like I am standing on my bed in the dark, holding the headboard for support. I can't figure out if this is really happening or not, or if this is part of the dream.

It was part of the dream, as I got rid of my headboard several weeks ago. Another lucid though! Even though I'm still having trouble making them last, the fact that they seem to be becoming more frequent is encouraging.
    3. Two fragments

      by , 02-21-2011 at 02:29 AM
      1. I'm hanging out with an old friend of mine who I haven't seen in years. She pulls out a bag of this chunky powder and pours it out on the table. She starts pushing the powder into lines and then snorts one. I ask her what the powder is, and she tells me that it is spore dust. I don't really want to snort the spore dust, and I suggest that we just eat it instead. She is very insistent that it must be snorted. I forget if I ended up doing it or not.

      2. I'm on the train going to school. I have to tie my shoe, so I bend over. Some guy behind me grabs my ass, and I freak out. Suddenly I have extreme strength. I throw him against the wall and hit him repeatedly, leaving him with dark purple bruises.
    4. Fragments

      by , 02-19-2011 at 08:58 PM
      1. I'm in a room filled with cheap vinyl furniture. The room is full of people, and it's hard for me to find a seat. Once I do, an old man comes up to me and tells me that I have taken his seat. I find a new place to sit, in a big armchair, and look around. All the people are sitting silently and just staring off into space.

      2. I'm in a car that is absolutely stuffed with people and luggage. There are cats somewhere in the car. I can hear them meowing.

      3. I am in a huge penthouse suite, overlooking the city from one window, and the harbor from the other side. The apartment is circular shaped and has a big domed skylight in the middle. This is my apartment, but I'm having to move out in a hurry. I'm frantically throwing things into boxes. There are cats in every room.

      4. I'm walking down town with a friend. We look up at the tall buildings, and she tells me about how she likes to stand on the tops of them. and hit golf balls out into the city. I tell her that it probably causes a lot of damage. "Someone has to," she replies.

    5. Reality check fail

      by , 02-18-2011 at 09:19 AM
I was outside my parent's house on the lawn outside the hedge. Two of my friend's were with me. I had some sort of small device which could send people back and forward through time. My friends were begging me to press the button and send them forward through time. I did, and I could see them speed up into the future. It's hard to describe the visual aspects of this. I looked around me, and there were cats everywhere. For some reason this made me want to do a reality check. I couldn't think of a good one to do at the time, so I tried sticking my finger through my palm. It didn't go through, so I decided that I must not be dreaming. Stupid reality test.

I was at some large outdoor event with tons of people. There was loud music playing, and I really liked it. My parents were there, and my dad said something that offended me, but I can't remember what.

From another night which I forgot to enter:
I was walking along some outcropping of rock that went way out into the ocean. The water was bright turquoise-blue, and there were all kinds of giant sea creatures swimming about. All different kinds of whales, dolphins, manta rays, etc. I even saw a narwhale or two. It was so beautiful and calming.

    6. Bad recall

      by , 02-16-2011 at 02:35 AM
My dream recall from last night is terrible, but I'm just trying to keep in the habit of journaling.

I remember being on a beach somewhere. It was very hot and sunny, and I noticed that I was becoming sunburnt. At one point, I remember floating above the sand and talking to others at the beach.

I was indoors somewhere, in front of a large mirror. I was getting dressed up for something (can't remember what). My hair was thick and curly, in contrast to my regular smooth and straight. I was fastening a large ornate clip to my hair which had several long colorful feathers hanging down from it.

Unfortunately this is all I can remember.
    7. Light Switch Lucidity

      by , 02-12-2011 at 09:39 PM
Another lucid! Still having trouble making it last, but I am making progress.

I was walking through some house with my dad. We were getting ready to leave, so I was getting my purse and coat together. I noticed that a light in one of the bedrooms was on, so I went to go turn it off. I flipped the switch but the light stayed on. I did it a couple more times and then I realized that I must be dreaming. I managed to keep my cool a bit more this time and didn't freak out or anything. I kept talking to my dad as if nothing was up. I ran my hands over the wallpaper to feel it's texture. My dad told me that he had to use the bathroom before we left. I took this opportunity to try spinning. I was surprised at how easy it was and how fast I could spin.
When I opened my eyes again, I was on a sunny street somewhere. I knelt down and felt the roughness of the pavement. I got up and started to walk, but again the dream started to fade away!
Within a few minutes, I was awake, and when I fell back asleep I had lost my lucidity.

I think I am getting better though!

    8. Mutiple dreams and a fasle awakening.

      by , 02-09-2011 at 09:53 PM
      1st dream:
I am in some bar, celebrating a friend's birthday. I am not sure which friend because the mixture of people was so bizarre, that I can't figure out which one of my friends would know all those people. The drink menu was very strange, and I end up ordering some weird cocktail made of gin and beer. I guess I figured that since it sounded so weird, it must be decent, otherwise they wouldn't put it on the menu. Wrong. A woman who doesn't seem to like me at all in waking life was there and was being very nice to me, making all sorts of pleasant conversation. She first recognized me in the bathroom by seeing my boots from under the stall. I do wear those boots everywhere i guess.

      2. I was on the front porch of my parent's old house, playing the banjo. I was getting pretty good at it and was having a lot of fun. Then a group of people I went to high school with walked up my driveway. "Hey, we heard you were sick, and we thought we'd come see how you were doing." one of them said. (I am sick with bronchitis right now in waking life, but in the dream I had no idea what they were talking about). I told them I was fine. One of them asked if I had a towel they could borrow, so I ran upstairs to get one.

      3. I wandered through the park by my high school where that 15 year old girl was recently beaten to death by an unknown attacker. I felt a bit weird. I had spent my whole childhood playing in this park, but now it felt sinister, even though it was a sunny day. I heard a small laugh, and turned around to see a small baby all bundled up in the grass. No one else was in sight. I picked up the baby and carried it out to the street. There were police everywhere, many of them trying to calm down a hysterical woman. Somehow I knew she was the child's mother. I put the baby in her arms and she cried with happiness. With one hand, she unhooked a chain from around her neck and put it in my hand. There was a small gold key attached to the chain.

      4. False awakening:
I could hear my roommate calling for me and I woke up (or so I thought). She stood in my doorway and asked me which tube of toothpaste was hers. I was confused because she always uses that all natural hippie toothpaste with no chemicals or whatnot. I tried to sit up to answer her, but I couldn't move. I couldn't even move my lips to speak. She kept standing in the doorway, obviously thinking i was pretending to sleep or ignoring her. I was completely paralyzed, unable to make the slightest movement or sound.

When I actually woke up I had to ask her about it, because it seemed so real.

    9. Brief Lucidity!

      by , 02-07-2011 at 08:57 PM
I was walking through the hallways of my old elementary school. I'm not sure what triggered me, but suddenly I realized that I was dreaming. I came across a friend of mine in the hallway. "Hey! I'm dreaming!" I exclaimed. He laughed and said "what are you talking about?" and then slid through a nearby door.

I tried to stabilize by rubbing my hands together. It worked briefly and the rubbing of my hands felt so real. Unfortunately it didn't last for long, and the dream slowly faded.

My lucidity was short lived, but it was still exciting.

    10. Better than no recall at all I guess

      by , 02-04-2011 at 08:41 AM
Unfortunately I can't remember much from my dreams last night, but one thing comes to mind.

I remember walking down the sidewalk with my parents (I think), and suddenly having my legs give out underneath me. I managed to get up, but after a few more steps it would happen again. I kept getting up, but after a few steps I would just fall. There was no feeling in my legs whatsoever. I started to panic, and after falling one more time, I could not get up at all.
    11. First Entry

      by , 02-02-2011 at 09:45 PM
Very strange. I had some sort of book that I could enter through the pictures in it. There were some very spooky images in the book and I'm glad I didn't go through one of them...
It took me to a whole bunch of different places, including a strange hotel. I walked out on the grounds and saw a girl I have known for a few years, but not well. She asked me to follow her. I did, and we came upon a circle of chairs with people of all ages sitting in them. There were two empty ones, so we sat down. It was some sort of support group, but I can't remember what for. I couldn't understand what some people were saying. I got up and walked away...
I came to a room full of people but none were paying attention to me as if they couldn't see me. I saw a piano in the corner. I have played piano for many years so I was intrigued. I sat down at the piano and pressed some of the keys softly. Then I tried to play a few pieces but they kept sounding wrong and incredibly cacophonous. I noticed that the keys were covered in some sort of slippery liquid. I looked up and realized that the whole room was staring at me angrily. I tried to explain to them that the piano wasn't right, and that there was something on the keys. I looked behind me to see a tall girl in a Victorian dress and hat holding a teacup and intentionally spilling it's contents on the keys. I stood up and shoved her. I don't know why, but I think her name was Stephanie...
Somehow I ended up back in my own apartment. I put some leftover pizza in the oven and looked through the window. It was raining out but incredibly sunny! I ran out the door to see if there was a rainbow. No rainbow, but my backyard seemed more beautiful than ever (it's not beautiful at all in waking life). I began to sing and my voice came out beautiful and clear. My roommate came through the door and I was embarrassed because she had caught me singing. I went back inside to check on the pizza, only to find there was way more in the oven than I had remembered putting in (this should have been a signal that I was dreaming!!). Instead of two pieces of cheese pizza, there were at least six of many different kinds, and a lasagna. I assumed that the lasagna belonged to my roommate. The pizza tasted awful, and I threw most away. I got a large chunk of spinach stuck on my back molar, and I just couldn't get it out. I kept pulling and pulling at it, but it wouldn't budge a bit.

I woke up and realized that I had slept through my morning class.

There was more to this dream, but it keeps slipping away. I can only remember little bits of images. There was a lot more that happened at the weird hotel, I just can't remember what.
